Oakdale Merge

I emphatically disagree about the Oakdale Merge being non-notable. I could try to convince you with this link, or I could point out that it's about as non-notable as the Bruckner Interchange, and the only difference between the two is that Bruckner actually has road bridges. ----DanTD (talk) 01:15, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

It is a couple ramps off of NY 27 to the parallel Montauk Highway, and as such it's known for being an obstruction at best, and a hazard at worst, which is what makes it deserving of an article. It was built in this manner as a substitute for a real interchange, whereas if it were just that it wouldn't be worthy of one. As far as me showing you an SPS, SFW? That SPS still has the the info and history behind it, and even if the website didn't exist, the interchange would still be notable for the reasons mentioned above. ----DanTD (talk) 01:36, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

It might be worth considering. If so, I think it should be a separate chapter in the New York State Route 27 article. You claimed that it doesn't look any more special than any other interchange on a suburban highway, but I don't know of too many like this, especially those that are named... and dreaded. ----DanTD (talk)

I don't think the chapter needs to be split as much as it needs to be trimmed. I'd do it now, but my PC is hindering my ability to cut and paste again, so I'll have to wait until another time. ----DanTD (talk) 02:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Are you sure NY 22 or NY 28 are the perfect examples for an article on NY 27? I still think the descriptions of the former interchange configurations, and formerly proposed interchanges should be left in, and I don't know of any part of Routes 22 or 28 that have anything similar. While you're at it, since you merged the Prospect Expressway article into NY 27, maybe that should be a whole separate sub-chapter within the New York City route description. ----DanTD (talk) 02:31, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

That's a great idea; they should be mentioned. My only concern is that separate articles about former or proposed interchanges on any state highway won't be able stand up to WP:GNG. –Fredddie™ 03:01, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

I suppose that means you'd merge every interchange mentioned in Category:Road interchanges in the United States, and I right? Feel free to correct me if this isn't the case. In the meantime, I see that User:Floydian trimmed the chapter a lot. Not bad, although he did miss the opportunity for one citation, which I found and added. I would say it's more of the reason why there are zero articles about interchanges in Iowa than anything else. I, myself, will not be merging any of the interchanges in the category any time soon, but there are a couple in there of which I question their notability. The best option would be for the project to come up with a scope for interchanges and then work from there. –Fredddie™ 23:24, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

U.S. Route 19E

Please revert your changes related to U.S. Route 19E. U.S. Route 19 splits into 19E and 19W through two states and then rejoins. However, 19E is the main throughway. The exit to 19W is barely noticeable. Therefore, the complete end to end journey on U.S. Route 19 requires travel on 19E. If you remove 19E, 19 would then need to be split into north and south parts, which would totally confuse people. All the maps and distances in all the articles have been setup with the 19/19E usage. Any change would be a massive undertaking and result in reader confusion. —UncleDouggie (talk) 06:41, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Do you have a source that US 19E is considered the mainline of US 19? From what I know, suffixed routes are equal splits in a U.S. Highway. For other suffxied routes, such as U.S. Route 31W and U.S. Route 31E, we have two articles describing each branch. We can have separate articles describing U.S. Route 19W and U.S. Route 19E full length in both states while the U.S. Route 19 in North Carolina and U.S. Route 19 in Tennessee articles can detail the portion of route in each state that is part of the unified US 19. RfC/U-related

Racepacket has yet to comment on my proposed solution because neither you nor Rschen have indicated an opinion of it. He's said that he's running the "risk that the other two will jump back in and ask for more". You might want to look over the section I just added to the talk page. I made two minor changes to the wording of my proposal because LauraHale's comments expressed a desire to expand from Netball to Netball and women's sports. I also clarified my original intent, that WP:IAR and common sense are both tools to apply to exceptions to any kind of rules. RP has been asked as bluntly and politely as I can to reply to the proposal. I'm afraid he might take the two modifications as a reason to stall further. Imzadi 1979 → 14:21, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Golden Nugget changes

I saw that you changed Trump Marina to Golden Nugget Atlantic City in the Atlantic City – Brigantine Connector article. I was wondering if you had any kind of source for those changes. I know the casino has changed names, but according to this article published last week, the Trump Marina signs are going to stay on the casino for "a few more months". If the casino itself hasn't yet changed its sign, I doubt the SJTA has made new signs for the Connector. Of course, I could be wrong. –Dream out loud (talk) 02:23, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Your revert on NJ 73 article

I saw you have reverted my edit to the New Jersey Route 73 article. The intersection at CR 616 is considered major, and the reason I say that is because during rush hour traffic frequently backs up at this intersection for over a mile on Route 73 and Church Road, even more than other intersections in that article (like CR 544). I know this since I travel on Route 73 frequently as I live off that route.

County Routes in NJ

Hello Dough4872. I noticed some of your edits on pages about roads, especially in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I must say first of all, fantastic work. Second, given the fact that you are a road enthusiast, by looking at your user page, and so am I, (I don't know if you looked at my edits, but I have been working on some articles pertaining to county routes and some state routes in NJ), I was wondering if you would be able to participate on pages related to county routes in Monmouth, NJ. For instance, the listing of the county routes is somewhat peculiar, in my opinion, because they are split into 3 pages, and one of them does not even exist: List of county routes in Monmouth County, New Jersey (31-57). There is this page, however, List of county routes in Monmouth County, New Jersey. At one time, each county route (except County Route 55 (Monmouth County, New Jersey) for some reason) had its own page before they became redirects to these pages: List of county routes in Monmouth County, New Jersey (1-15), and 16-30, and this red link, listing a description of each road, and even some routes have no description or table of intersections. If you notice, other lists of county routes from other NJ counties use a basic table listing, for example: List of county routes in Passaic County, New Jersey, and List of county routes in Camden County, New Jersey. Arizona State Route 30

Hello,

I noticed that you switched the article for AZ State Route 801 to Arizona State Route 30, as well as changed the references in several articles to reflect this change. The Arizona Department of Transportation still has the route numbered 801 on its webpages, and I am having difficulty finding any sources to indicate that the route is to be numbered 30 instead of 801.

Before simply reverting these changes I have decided to check in with you for some sourcing on why it was changed to Route 30.

Thanks for the link. ADOT seems to be 'slow' in rolling out this change as it is not reflected on their website in general but it does appear in some other planning documents when you dig deep enough. I suppose that's just government efficiency for you. Shereth 19:15, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
