License tagging for File:Oru Kai Oosai, 1980 Film.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Oru Kai Oosai, 1980 Film.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:05, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tamil Wiktionary has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing notable is written, and can hardly be anticipated to grow to be encyclopedic. The number of entries should better written, if ever, at say Wiktionary or wikt:Index:All languages, not at a separate page Tamil Wiktionary.
The attached tag says it can be expanded by looking at corresponding article in the Tamil Wikipedia, but it doesn't provide anything more particularly worth to translate.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

WELL, the above message looks intimidating, but it comes from {{proposed deletion notify}}, and I don't have any intention of blaming you. Thanks. --Ahora (talk) 02:04, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Neethaane En Ponvasantham, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Musical (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Palam Kalyanasundaram, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   17:11, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Palam Kalyanasundaram, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Palam Kalyanasundaram and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Palam Kalyanasundaram during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Jujutacular (talk) 18:44, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I declined speedy deletion of the page because it was not substantially identical to the previous versions. If you have any additional sources for the subject this may help to establish notability. Cheers, Jujutacular (talk) 18:46, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Jujutacular!, will do that. --Dineshkumar Ponnusamy (talk) 18:12, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paraphrasing when citing sources

[edit]

Hello Dineshkumar. You may like to take a few moments to read Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing, in conjunction with Wikipedia:COPYPASTE, as some of your additions to articles, for example Nagore E. M. Hanifa, are very very close to the wording and structure of the original sources. Thank you. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 17:37, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have rewritten the article, if you have any further queries please let me know Arthur goes shopping! --Dineshkumar Ponnusamy (talk) 06:04, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dineshkumar Ponnusamy, thanks for creating the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) article. Unfortunately, since the article isn't supported by independent reliable sources, it doesn't show that the DOORS eXtension Language meets Wikipedia's notability policy. I've converted the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) page into a redirect to the Rational DOORS article, and you can write about DXL in more detail in this article. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! — Newslinger talk 13:24, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about DOORS eXtension Language (DXL)

[edit]

Hello, Dineshkumar Ponnusamy,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Newslinger and it's nice to meet you:-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Newslinger}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

Thanks,

Thanks for reaching out to me, I would like to know what is the significance of changing the logo from PNG to SVG, Is there any new policy around? --Dineshkumar Ponnusamy (talk) 19:01, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Logos in SVG are not new, and there is some debate whether SVG should be used in non-free logos, but in free ones like IGATE, SVG is always preferred (I can't find the Wikipedia guideline pages at the moment). The reason for that is, SVG is superior in every respect. --Ben Stone 19:27, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
