Speedy deletion nomination of Mohammed sami abugoush
[edit]A tag has been placed on Mohammed sami abugoush requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please see Wikipedia:Deletion review for the procedure to contest a deletion. Thank you. Cassandra 73 (talk) 18:33, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- I have restored the previous content at Mohammed Sami Abugoush (note that the name is capitalized now) and made some edits in hopes of improving the article. Please look for more sources to establish that Abugoush is a notable diamond and gem expert and add those sources to the article, or the article could be at risk of being deleted again. Good luck! --Metropolitan90 (talk) 20:37, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Mohammed Sami Abugoush
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Mohammed Sami Abugoush. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed Sami Abugoush. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Wikilinking
[edit]While I don't want to discourage you from wikilinking words in articles, I would note that it is generally preferred not to link as many words as you have been. For example:
As anexpert, he has extensive knowledge and ability based on his own research, experience, and occupation.
Many Wikipedia editors would prefer to leave this sentence in plain text: As an expert, he has extensive knowledge and ability based on his own research, experience, and occupation. This is because words like "expert", "knowledge", "research", "experience", and "occupation" are standard English words which don't have a great deal to do with the topic. On the other hand, some wikilinks are useful, such as in this hypothetical sentence: He was born in Jordan, attended New York University, and became an expert in diamonds and gemstones. See WP:OVERLINK and WP:ALLWIKI for more comments on this. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 01:59, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Although AFD is not a vote, it assists the closing admin when reading through to identify the specific recommendations if the opinion is not repeated. The contribution of additional commentary is welcome at the discussion, and can be prefixed with comment to identify it as additional commentary. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 20:50, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Gemstones book .png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Gemstones book .png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 13:52, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mohammed sami abugoush
[edit]A tag has been placed on Mohammed sami abugoush, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

I made a mistake in my message above - sorry. The admin who closed the deletion debate was Coffee (talk · contribs), and if you disagree with the result you should go first to him and then, if you are still unhappy, to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 16:10, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Advice re Mohammed Sami Abugoush
[edit]Before you do anything more, there are two important Wikipedia policies you should read and understand:
- Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true."
- Notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, books etc, and affiliated ones.
I did not take part in the deletion debate but, reading through it, it seems to me fairly clear that you are unable to meet these requirements for this subject, and my advice to you is to give up. However, if you want to challenge the decision to delete,
- First, you should leave a message for user Coffee (talk · contribs), the administrator who closed the debate, and ask him to change his decision. I think it unlikely that he will agree, because the result seemed to me quite clear, and in his place I would have made the same decision; but it is a necessary first step for you to take.
- If he does not agree, the only remaining step is WP:Deletion review, which is like a legal appeal, asking for the decision of the deletion debate to be overturned. Notice that, as with a legal appeal, this is not an opportunity to continue the same arguments: the question is whether the deletion debate was correctly decided. Before doing that, read the instructions on that page, which include:
This process should not be used simply because you disagree with a deletion debate's outcome for reasons previously presented but instead if you think the closer interpreted the debate incorrectly or have some significant new information pertaining to the debate that was not available on Wikipedia during the debate.

Abugoush
[edit]I am sorry to have been so long replying to your messages, but I have been finding it difficult to think of any more advice I can give. You have worked very hard to try to show that Mr Abugoush is notable, and there was a full deletion debate lasting 13 days instead of the usual 7, but you have not convinced anybody. I can only refer you again to the advice about Verifiability and Notability that I gave you above, emphasis that for notability you need to show comment about the subject by people independent of it, and perhaps point you to WP:No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability, suggesting that there comes a time when, however strongly you believe in your subject, you have to accept that you have failed to convince anybody and that it is not worth putting more effort into it.
Thank you. Dori ❦ (Talk ❖ Contribs ❖ Review) ❦ 10:45, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
