Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of discoveries by disciplines, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Calotte (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

An article you recently created, List of psychopathological discoveries, is much oo selective, and seems to concentrate unduly upon one aspect which may not yet really be generally accepted n When you feel the article is sufficiently expanded and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. An article you recently created, List of discoveries in geography and geology, is altogether too sketchy, and the items listed are of very different importance. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DGG ( talk ) 01:45, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Subject names in infoboxes

[edit]

Please stop removing the name from infoboxes. Per our guidline Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes, "An infobox is a panel, usually in the top right of an article, next to the lead section (in the desktop version of Wikipedia), or at the end of the lead section of an article (in the mobile version), that summarizes key features of the page's subject". The name of the subject is clearly a key feature and should not be removed from the infobox. The infoboxes are designed to repeat information from the article. Proposed deletion

[edit]
Notice

The article Gadfly_(philosophy_and_social_science) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Original research. The article knits together a variety of passages in Plato and the Bible in order to develop a novel interpretation of the influence of the gadfly concept. For example, the article claims that Ovid's reference to furor is a development of Plato's "gadfly" idea. In support of this claim, the article cites a chapter by Michael Naas and an article by Michael Erler — neither of which refers to Ovid.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kristen Stewart‎; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DMacks (talk) 20:48, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NPA shows "Repeated or egregious personal attacks may lead to sanctions including blocks or even bans." even if I personally attacked Crossroads outstandingly bad; shocking WP:NPA shows "egregious" which isn't "vaguely insulting comments" & I've already explained that although "I do feel I attacked Crossroads by identifying << lack of reason >>" > "really my response was a reaction to the perceived threat to me by Crossroads - I don't intend to discredit Crossroads" isn't an actual personal attack - it wasn't my intention to attack Crossroads - I was about to write , before you blocked me > "Because Crossroads is interested in the subject, I would be willing to defer to Crossroads as the lead at the article because Crossroads has more authority on the subject" < is not an attack, it wasn't my intention to attack the user, it was just my opinion of the reasons identified by Crossoroads in the discussion - I wanted to work with Crossroads not attack he/she as a user > "really my response was a reaction to the perceived threat to me" no-one else even mentioned they thought I was attacking the user:Crossroads Diametakomisi (talk) 22:35, 19 March 2020 (UTC) (minor correction after signature Diametakomisi (talk) 22:38, 19 March 2020 (UTC))[reply]

@Narky Blert: "is just an assault I think that is all, looking at the evidence, and really he/she should just be arrested by the police not adding comments to this section" - I was trying to communicate my emotion not my actual thoughts on Crossroads - in some way I was reciprocating to Crossroads because he/she wanted to block me, so I felt Crossroads should be stopped, you know like Isaac Newton "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" Diametakomisi (talk) 22:35, 19 March 2020 (UTC) (added url after signature Diametakomisi (talk) 22:37, 19 March 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Request reason:

the indefinite block is unnecessary because:

  • 1 I'm willing to disengage from edits and work to clarifying my wording to help others to understand, so that my wording isn't incomprehensible. I agree that my wording might be incomprehensible, but I think that the problem could be addressed by a dialogue with other editors - the problem identified as "incomprehensible" is my lack of consideration (I know as I was writing I was being inconsiderate, so I'll have to choose to be considerate as a personal rule in the future) not because of lack of ability to write comprehensible sentences
  • 2 as I've already stated in this section, I wasn't actually attacking the user - that I thought I was attacking him/her is my opinion, but looking at the evidence @ WP:NPA it isn't possible that my behaviour is "personal attacks". My comments are neither "Repeated" or "egregious" personal attacks which is the policy description given which could lead to sanctions including blocks or even bans. I didn't feel angry towards the user, or hateful, I just was hoping to defend myself user:Crossroads"
  • 3 the response "indefinite" by the blocking editor is too severe considering "could lead to sanctions including" - the user could have chosen sanctions not blocking. It wasn't my intention to harm wikipedia, I didn't exercise sufficient concern for my writing comprehension, which caused the situation with user:Crossroads - I haven't attacked anyone on Talk pages, or in summaries - my comments were made because I hoped to identify a problem with user:Crossroads reasons, not with the user
  • Diametakomisi (talk) 23:02, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Regarding #1, you have a mile of talk-page warnings and having your edits undone, but your behavior did not change. Even (per your usertalk) when you said you would stop doing one thing (for example, misuse of a template or ref format), you did more of it or similar elsewhere. I don't see a pattern of constructive contributions, but only disruption (per ANI and my own looking at your edits). "Good intentions" are not sufficient. Neither response #2 nor #3 are anywhere near sufficient. Your comment later here (about being unfair and involving robots and ninjas) clearly demonstrates that you are not able to interact here in a mature-enough and civil manner (relates to item #2). And "indefinite" doesn't mean "infinite", but instead that you need to make a serious effort to learn and demonstrate competence rather than merely allowing a certain time to elapse. DMacks (talk) 16:49, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I fixed your unblock request for you. You copied the "tlx" code, which disables the template. Also, for what it's worth, guillemets aren't used in English. Using them is just going to confuse English-speakers. At least, I think that's what you're using < and > to mean. It's difficult to tell. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:50, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
okay thanks. yh I'm using guillemets from French wikipedia - I think "quote of source" is different from << highlighted subject, concept, factor identified in discussion, talk, or article >> is the intended use, although I don't know if this is an established use, I did think it would be obvious to the reader Diametakomisi (talk) 15:11, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have to say I think it's unfair I have to be made to reason with a robot. How could I be expected to reason with an automaton, so unhuman...the sense of foreboding, it's almost unbearble, and a model Ninja-pirate also - I wonder how this will resolve for me - surely Crossroads you see my point of view Diametakomisi (talk) 16:36, 20 March 2020 (UTC) (correction after signature 16:37, 20 March 2020 (UTC))[reply]
  • Also note to any reviewing admin in case they missed the one I left at ANI: this account is a sock of Whalestate (and more recently 23h112e). The extremely idiosyncratic editing/discussion style, the overlap in subject area, and the timing of account(s) creation make it pretty certain. I don't know if it's worth bothering with a full-blown SPI at this point, but I thought this should be taken into consideration as well. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 16:55, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the consideration. Life ends for us one day as eternity is impossible at least you all understood something, that robots should win, as humans never will survive eternity. If we all die in ~130 years (the maximum human life-span) , then cremation, the armageddon (at least by fire) occurs periodically at about a ~130 year period - a googleplex years is finished in a blink of an eye compared to eternity, which I am as displeased as as you all are. Your pathetic efforts to dominate they are historical of the species, and stupid, because no-one wins, - I have to accept the United States worthless effort at civility with the same stupid weapon based violence that parades as civility elsewhere, when the situation for the species is simple doom and no hope in truth that is all. As to whether I'm whalestate or not, better to be a whale, than understand, I'm sure. the IPs are the same, except for two which are different to the IPs used by that account 12:55, 3 March 2020 was an edit using a new IP. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
