[edit]Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, DhyanDejan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Dejan Cirkvenčič, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 11:06, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there. Thank you for your prompt reply. I really appreciate it. I've been editor-in-chief of several magazines, and I'm quite aware of the "conflict of an interest". However, I wrote an article without a bias, according to my best abilities, merely journalistically describing the work and life of a person whose work is widely known in our country (of Slovenia), and even abroad. His music is aired daily on our National Radio Station, and his influence should be, and deserves to be, recognized by the trusted media as Wikipedia. I truly believe in the independent journalism.
- I'm humbly asking you to kindly publish the article. Thanking you in advance. DhyanDejan (talk) 11:23, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
References
[edit]Hi @DhyanDejan: Your draft article needs references. Please take a look at WP:REFB tutorial on how to do it. I see the article was already referenced. I wasn't the references the review editor Theroadislong wanted removed, it was the raw links like Supersoul Connection. If you had kept the name and remove the url, it would have been fine. Hope that helps. Ping me if you need any help. scope_creepTalk 11:11, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- If you have a WP:COI, its definently worth disclosing your relationship to the musician if you have one. scope_creepTalk 11:12, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I have edited the references. They are now below the article. I did citations as well. Thank you so much. DhyanDejan (talk) 11:55, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- It's great that you have added references but there is still zero indication of them passing WP:GNG, WP:NMUSICIAN or WP:SINGER. Theroadislong (talk) 12:48, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I have referenced two major music National record labels, where our subject was published, two ground breaking albums, I have referenced his graphic design works, his books, etc. I mean, criteria might be very different, but we're talking about Slovenian musician. Note that it's a very small country of 2 mil. population. Some links, like Oprah's, introduction in Sony Theatres, NY, etc. are long gone. Their FB page has 10K plus followers. Again, note the "smallness". I don't know what else to do, except to again mention, that some countrymen, which bare way less importance, have their Wiki ... Kindly help me out. You have the power to do what's right. DhyanDejan (talk) 15:17, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Having cited and present you numerous links of his obvious notability, I have no idea left. Those citations and links are of the topmost notability in our country. It doesn't get any higher then this. Truly. DhyanDejan (talk) 15:42, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I have no power at all! Wikipedia requires there to be multiple, reliable independent sources to show how the person is notable, you do not have these yet, so there can be no article.
