Speedy deletion nomination of Underwater Domain Awareness
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Underwater Domain Awareness requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://salute.co.in/underwater-domain-awareness-a-new-paradigm-for-the-indian-ocean-region/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Underwater Domain Awareness moved to draftspace
[edit]I've restored Underwater Domain Awareness and moved it to draft space (with a prefix of Draft:
before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:51, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Please stop moving it back into mainspace without it being reviewed. Even though it has quite a few sources, much of it still remains unsourced. In addition, the title of the article is in question, as the two sources I looked at don't call Underwater domain awareness, but maritime domain awareness. There is already an article by that name, and any changes should be made there.Onel5969 TT me 13:25, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Here to assist
[edit]Hi, Devanshmrc - you have an excellent article in Draft, and I am here to assist you in getting it published into the mainspace of WP. I am also inviting Peter Southwood for his help in making this process as simplified as possible. First things first - as I explained on the talk page of Onel5969, there were copyvio issues, and still issues with MOS, but the most immediate have been corrected, and there is an OTRS Ticket#2019080710003201 regarding copyvio. Peter - can you weigh-in with your thoughts about MOS? Atsme Talk 📧 14:35, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
- Redo incorrect ping to Pbsouthwood. Hi, Devan - did you get a chance to upload your graphic at Commons under a CC-by-sa 4.0 license? The draft still needs tweaking, copy editing and conversion into encyclopedic “speak”, if you will. Also, if you get a chance, read some of the articles Peter created - I’ve included this link for your perusal. Once you pick up on the style of WP articles per WP:MOS, you can tweak your draft to make it acceptable for draft space. I’ve got it on my watch list and hopefully Peter will weigh-in and offer assistance now that I’ve properly pinged him. Atsme Talk 📧 12:59, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Devanshmrc, I will be trying to help get the article ready for mainspace. You can help by clarifying those items we tag. To see what we are looking for, open the edit window and look at the reasons given for the clarification request. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 14:52, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
Update on your draft
[edit]Devanshmrc - Peter Southwood and I have copyedited most of your draft so that it will be in compliance with WP:MOS, WP:NOR and WP:NPOV. The last two paragraphs need more work to reflect an encyclopedic tone rather than the tone of a presentation. Citations need to be provided as noted which requires your input since you have direct access to the sources. A review of the changes would also be appreciated. I hope you are enjoying the holiday season. Atsme Talk 📧 13:34, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Devanshmrc, There has been no work on your draft for 3 months. There are still some issues that are unclear and a few items that need citation. Once they are cleared up satisfactorily I will publish to mainspace. Failing this I will probably salvage what is practicable and possibly merge into Maritime domain awareness as a section if there is not enough to stand alone. Please indicate whether you intend to do any further work on the article. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 15:54, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template. at any time by removing the

Besides the boilerplate standard message above, which is automatically provided, and not really the way I prefer to communicate, I am happy to have been able to help get the article into mainspace. If you still feel up to it, please continue to improve the article as and when you think of things that are relevant and have not been mentioned yet. Underwater Domain Awareness is now free in the wilds of Wikipedia, and may survive and thrive, or not. If you have any relevant free-licence images that can be added, they tend to make an article look more interesting. Keep in mind that this is an encyclopedia and the way of expressing things should reflect that function. Wikipedians will edit to change the way you have expressed things, and to add and possibly remove content. Do not take this personally, but do comment or make corrections if the changes are wrong. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 14:45, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
Another possible problem with copyright violation.
[edit]Hi Devanshmrc, http://indianmaritimefoundation.org/mrc/documents/gperspective-indoPacific.pdf is not covered by the OTRS ticket for https://salute.co.in/underwater-domain-awareness-a-new-paradigm-for-the-indian-ocean-region/, and a significant amount of text in Underwater Domain Awareness. has a close match for that paper. See this analysis. If you have permission to re-use the material, please submit another OTRS request. While this is happening I will have to move the article back to draft. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 16:42, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- Back in draft pending resolution. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 17:14, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi Devanshmrc, I received your email, but cannot reply directly as my outgoing email is still not functioning due to an administrative problem of my service provider. I was completely without internet connection for nearly two weeks.
- The OTRS request must go through Wikipedia permissions. I cannot handle an OTRS request myself, and at present cannot even forward your email to the right place. Information is available at Wikipedia:OTRS noticeboard and I think the right place to send it is permissions-en@wikimedia.org using the procedure described at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries.
