Speedy deletion nomination of ELGI Equipments Ltd
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on ELGI Equipments Ltd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cntras (talk) 11:53, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:ELGI Equipments Ltd Logo of company.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:ELGI Equipments Ltd Logo of company.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Facebook Timeline May 2012 screenshot.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Facebook Timeline May 2012 screenshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. VQuakr (talk) 08:16, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Vellalore
[edit]Hi Jayabaharat,
I was surprised and happy to get a message from Vellalore! Thanks! I have never been to Vellalore. In fact, I am German and live in Germany. But my grandfather is from Vellalore. His name was V. A. Sundaram (or Vellalore Annaswamy Sundaram). All his ancestors were from Vellalore, too. I believe, today there still is a family deity and some temple connected with his family at Vellalore.
So I am definitely planning to come to your place some time. At this moment I am just completing a Wikipedia article on V. A. Sundaram and I am going to upload it in 2 oder 3 days - if all goes well. It will be my first article! And it is quite ambitious, so I have put in a lot of work and research (Sundaram was an associate of Gandhi and many things more).
In order to be able to upload a first article, Wikipedia requires you to first perform a minimum of 10 edits. Therefore I landed on your Vellalore page and did some small corrections. I hope you didn't mind.
Anyway, nice of you to have contacted me. If you feel like, get back to me and I would be happy to ask you some questions about Vellalore (or even better: if you could send me some photos?)
Best wishes,

Hi I have changed my ISP and now I am not able to edit. It says that I am blocked from editing as my ip address is open proxy. not sure what that means. RAT -.- Poke it 20:36, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
An open proxy is a service which allows anyone to hide their IP address, and make it seem as though they are editing from a different IP address. They are usually blocked on Wikipedia, because they are very often used for dishonest purposes, such as evading blocks, pretending to be different editors, and so on. There are various possible situations which would make it possible for the block to be lifted. For example, it may be that the IP address you have been allocated was once an open proxy, but no longer is, or it may be that it never was an open proxy, and a mistake has been made. I would be happy to look into it, but I can't, because I have no way of knowing what IP address to check unless you tell us. I suggest making another unblock request, but this time telling us what IP address is involved. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:58, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

[edit]Dear deadrat, This is with reference to the pdf file uploaded in the path http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_month with caption Tamil Calendar 2013. This is a great work and I appreciate your effort towards this. I would like to propose a correction in the way it is written. As the language itself is phonetic, the numerics shall also be written as phonetic (written as the way we speak), instead of writing as a buch of digits as in the case of the hindu - arabic numbers.
The number 10 shall be written as ௰, as you have correctly written.
The following numbers shall be written in as follows 11 - ௰௧ 12 - ௰௨ 13 - ௰௩ 14 - ௰௪ 15 - ௰௫ 16 - ௰௬ 17 - ௰௭ 18 - ௰௮ 19 - ௰௯ 20 - ௨௰ 21 - ௨௰௧ 22 - ௨௰௨ 23 - ௨௰௩ 24 - ௨௰௪ 25 - ௨௰௫ 26 - ௨௰௬ 27 - ௨௰௭ 28 - ௨௰௮ 29 - ௨௰௯ 30 - ௩௰ 31 - ௩௰௧ 32 - ௩௰௨
Requesting you to correct your calendar pdf as per this.

Using font tags in your signature
[edit]Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font>
tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:
<span style="border:1px solid #000000;padding:1px;"><b><font style="color:Yellow;background:Black;">RAT</font></b> -.- <font style="color:Blue;">Poke it</font></span>
with:
<span style="border:1px solid #000000;padding:1px;"><b style="color:Yellow;background:Black;">RAT</b> -.- <span style="color:Blue;">Poke it</span></span>
which will result in a 237 character long signature (13 characters shorter) with an appearance of: RAT -.- Poke itcompared to your existing 250 character long signature of: RAT -.- Poke it — Either way. Happy editing!
- Thanks, I will update it now.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Request for usurpation
[edit]Hello, Deadrat. A request has been made via Wikipedia:Changing username (or meta:SRUC) to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing username guideline allows a username that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.
If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one) or use Special:GlobalRenameRequest.
If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.
If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.
Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.
Thank you for your time. RAT -.- Poke it 10:38, 8 December 2015 (UTC))
