Question from Jpcxmr (13:39, 23 November 2023)
Hello Dcheagle,
Thanks in advance for your kind support.
I am interested in Switzerland’s evolving concept of armed neutrality, which brings me to the wiki page “National Redoubt (Switzerland)”.
Specifically, I think the final section headed “Fate” could be expanded and updated to acknowledge and illustrate the results of post-Cold War pressure to demilitarise these fortifications, followed by the more-recent abrupt return to a ‘fortress mentality’ given the increased risk of pan-European warfare (Ukraine conflict etc.).
All this naturally feeds into the ongoing Swiss neutrality debate. One dilemma the new supporting sources may highlight is the whether or not armed neutrality even remains relevant given the global nature of new threats (e.g. terrorism) which some argue demand a collaborative, cross-border response. So ultimately, would maintaining/renewing the National Redoubt bolster Switzerland’s independence or contribute to the country’s isolation?
My proposed edit would offer a new title for this “Fate” section, illustrate the variety and extent of the civilian repurposing of former military bunkers, and update the fortifications debate with later military reviews, academic studies etc.
To avoid an article with excessive ‘dated’ detail, it may also be sensible to trim or remove a little of the current text. (?)
So I am looking to produce an enhanced section with new material and sources, which retains or reshapes 50% or so of the present section text.
Given this is my first Wikipedia venture, I thought it might be wise to consult with you early so that my efforts are informed by any tips which may occur to you to mention.
Thank you again for your time,
Kind regards,
Jpcxmr --Jpcxmr (talk) 13:39, 23 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Lumanol (22:57, 5 December 2023)
Hey! I'm creating a biographic page for an artist, I have asked the museum IN São Paulo to allow me to publish a photo of a bust that was made in his honor as the primary photo of him. Will a simple confirmation email from their part work as clearance to publish? Thanks! --Lumanol (talk) 22:57, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Lumanol I assume that this is the image in question. It largely depends on if the museum in question owns the copyright or if the artist who created the bust owns the copyright. Eather party would need to provide a release allowing its use here. Commons has an interactive release generator for stuff like this and it can be found at this link here. - @Snehajanfy On the latest Submission declined notice which is the top notice, at the bottom of it is a Resubmit button however don't just resubmit the draft without making the changes that are listed in the declined notice as it will just result in it being declined yet again. From the looks of it the draft still needs some work. Namely more sources to back up whats written. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 07:03, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I would like help publishing an article about artist Destin Conrad. I created a draft, but it was swiftly deleted. I've reached out to the deleter to see if there was a way to recover all the data I entered. If I am able to recover the data entered, would love your feedback on how to make sure it get's approved/published once I decide to submit. --NOLALADY504 (talk) 19:26, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- @NOLALADY504 Seeing as the Draft:Destin Conrad in question was deleted under G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion Criteria for speedy deletion its a safe bet that what ever you had written was in the form of advert or promotion of the topic instead of an encyclopedia article on the subject. I would advise a complete rewrite, with which I would be more then happy to help you with. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 06:01, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello Jeffrey R. Clark,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.

Question from Lampone7 (15:27, 4 May 2024)
Hello Dcheagle, thank you for offering your help. My name is François Berthoud I am an artist and I am creating a new page about myself/my work. You can easily find a great number of references and publications about my work, witch should justify a page on Wiki ... However at the moment I am totally lost in the process of putting together the elements for a first draft to be reviewed... Can you help? Thank you for your attention. --Lampone7 (talk) 15:27, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Lampone7 Hi François, Welcome to Wikipedia. To answer your question, you yourself shouldn’t create or edit an article about yourself as you have a Conflict of interest which is frowned upon here on Wikipedia. More information can be found at the link I have provided, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 22:26, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

A word of advice
Hey - I'm not going to take any action on this now that the other accounts has been blocked as the sock of a troll, but... edit warring, and logging out to continue the edit war, isn't a good look. If you are tempted to edit war against an account you suspect is a sock, report them and unless it's outright vandalism, wait to revert them until they've been blocked. (Then ask at RFPP for the page to be semi-protected if they keep coming back.) If you are tempted to edit war and you don't suspect the other account is a sock, well, don't - you blew past 3RR on that page, and in different circumstances you might have been looking at a block yourself. Hope that makes sense. Girth Summit (blether) 13:30, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from AlexBW0524 (05:14, 9 July 2024)
Hello, I hope you are doing well.
I have been working on creating a wikipedia page for the Korean singer Kim Min-Ji, a member of the band NewJeans who are a major musical act in South Korea. It is currently a draft (titled Draft:Kim Min-ji (singer)) and a few other wikipedia editors have contributed to and edited the draft. However, I'm not actually sure how to eventually move the article to be published or if there is a specific place to move it to facilitate it being published? How would I go about preparing it to be published? --AlexBW0524 (talk) 05:14, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- @AlexBW0524 your draft is waiting for review where it will be accepted or declined, once its reviewed and if accepted it will be moved into the main space. Sit tight as this process can take some time as there is a large backlog of drafts waiting for review and drafts are not reviewed in a specific order. Questioning removal of content
So if I’m getting this straight, you’re claiming I’m “removing information”. What information am I removing? Feel free to add on rather than delete my edits which fix your errors.
You also claim I’m “placing undo weight on an unclaimed national title.” How is a quick summary of the season “undo weight”? Why do you get to decide what information is purposely deleted?
Lastly, you claim there’s no reason for 2 seperate tables. Why not? One is a claimed title, one is not. They are not alike in any way, they should not be together. You cannot continue edit warring when your summary is a spelling error-ridden, poor summary that would confuse the average reader. Riptide10 (talk) 06:56, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Riptide10 Ah now I remember, Hello Dylan long time no see. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 07:03, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- What? Riptide10 (talk) 07:04, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Riptide10 You continue to keep up with the vary same stuff as before from your edits to your edit summary's making it really easy to find the connections to the other sockpuppets.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs 07:29, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- “vary” same? What? The simple facts are that the section is filled with spelling errors and you are removing relevant information because you don’t agree with it.
- Are you actually a high school teacher with how poor your grammar is? Riptide10 (talk) 07:31, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Riptide10 The section is neatly written to give a brief overview of events and adds relevant information on how and why they were retroactively awarded a championship for a season that was 79 years ago which Army was universally considered the National Champions, which you removed. The way the section was originally written was cluttered, out of order, placed undo weight on a championship that Oklahoma State does not even claim yet has this long winded paragraph about it. As for the table why should there be two tables with only one entry in them when one can do the job, no information is lost with the one table, if OSU had five claimed and four unclaimed titles then sure split it up but they don't and just cause its done one way an another article doesn't mean it has to be done this way here. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 08:06, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nearly written??? It’s filled with spelling and grammatical errors? Army being the AP champions is irrelevant, now you’re just showing your bias. Again, how was it undue weight? It was a quick summary of the season in which they received a national championship from Colley Matrix. Not long winded in the slightest. And again, who are you to decide what method is used?
- In NO OTHER college football wikipedia page are claimed and unclaimed titles mashed together. It’s lazy and it looks terrible. We both know it, you’re just a narcissist who cannot accept that someone is more skilled at editing than you. Pathetic. Riptide10 (talk) 08:12, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- Tell you what though, we’ll leave it up to the rest of the people, fair? How about you start a discussion on the talk page of Oklahoma State football, and if more people prefer your way of editing it, I’ll live with it and let it be.
- Is that fair enough for you? Riptide10 (talk) 08:15, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- That's already what's happening. That was always what was happening. AntiDionysius (talk) 08:16, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- No, this is about the national championship section in the article. unrelated to the other debate going on currently. Riptide10 (talk) 08:18, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- Now that you noticed it however, potentially you could assist me in starting the discussion on the talk page? @Dcheagle will not be of any help, so you might need to be the one to determine which edit is deemed more preferable unfortunately Riptide10 (talk) 08:22, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Riptide10 What spelling and grammatical errors? Why should we not explain that after 79 years of Army being the undisputed national champions that OSU is know also considered national champions as well. Why should we have a summary of a championship that the school doesn't even claim. Whats lazy and terrible about having a single table that makes the section less cluttered?--Dcheagle • talk • contribs 08:42, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- “…claims the 1945 national championship, additional Oklahoma State was selected…” and “…In October 2016 the 1945…” Is that proper grammar to you? Looks horrendous along with the rest of the section. And again, who said it’s up to you to decide how much of a summary we should have for the 2011 season? Wikipedia is for the public, not just @Dcheagle, correct?
- Would you be willing to put a message on the talk page and see which edit the rest of the people prefer? We clearly can’t agree, so why not leave it up to everyone else to determine who made the preferred edit? Riptide10 (talk) 08:54, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Riptide10 Those aren't grammar issues and the format you are continuing to push is cluttered and unnecessarily split up into to many sections. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 09:27, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- Well, they are. I’ll make a post on the Oklahoma State football talk page, and we’ll let the people decide which they prefer. Fair? Riptide10 (talk) 09:28, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- I’ve made a post on the talk page, I sincerely hope you wait until people voice their opinion before you continue to revert my edit. Riptide10 (talk) 09:48, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

Please don’t revert my edit
There is literally no other college athletics wiki page that include an opinion article with a championship listing. Again, it is WP:UNDUE for an *opinion* article to be part of a section that is simply for national championships. It belongs in other pages and is already posted there. Does that make sense? WizdomT (talk) 05:04, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

- You also claim there’s no “reliable source”, which is completely ignoring the football section of the page which lists a source from ESPN about the 1945 title. You don’t even know what you’re reverting. WizdomT (talk) 06:00, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- @WizdomT Great then link the source in the section as well. Dcheagle • talk • contribs 06:07, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- What source are you insistent gets linked? All I’m arguing is that the sources should be linked in the football section and not the championship table. Fair? WizdomT (talk) 06:09, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- The ESPN article already talks about the Blue Ribbon Commission and is not an opinion article. I think it is more than fair to include the ESPN and AFCA article in the football section, fair? WizdomT (talk) 06:13, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- What's hard to understand about everything needing a source from the football section down to the championship section? Dcheagle • talk • contribs 06:16, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- The football section already has a source for the title. I am completely baffled as to what your argument is. WizdomT (talk) 06:21, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I will move the AFCA article to the football section of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Cowgirls wikipedia page. That way everything is sourced and theres no need for edit warring WizdomT (talk) 06:22, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

Question from Lounis0525 (19:13, 25 September 2024)
Hello, if I wanted to update the locations a venue has on their wikipedia page. Am I allowed to just source their website. For ex: a wikipedia page states that there are only venues in 3 cities. Its outdated by a couple years and there are now 7 locations because of new ones opened the last 3-4 years and it is clearly stated on their site. --Lounis0525 (talk) 19:13, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
