Orphaned non-free media (File:Destiny's Child, Emotion.ogg)
Thanks for uploading File:Destiny's Child, Emotion.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Deletion of my adding to Naqvis page on 7th September 2013
Respected ... ``` Dear I have made book reference printed in Urdu language in Lahore (Pakistan) most of the names quoted in naqvis page with heading Naqvis of Darul Ijtihad Jais and Nasirabad Contains Shajras (Pedigree) of these notables before my first adding. As English is not my mother tongue so I study book in Urdu Language, which I can quote you as reference. I request you not to delete my adding and leave them open for challenge which may be considered, if it is denied by any descendant of Naqvi family. However, I am taking liberty of saying that you should care of my personal sentiments, as presently I am unable to give you electronic media reference. If desired by you, I can send you scanned copy of relevant pages in Urdu Language print. You may please contact me via email too for scanned copy. prefix:User talk:Dawnseeker2000/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nannadeem (talk • contribs) 17:14, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Editing of Jason Pearce page.
I'm not vandalizing the page of Jason Pearce. I am correctly editing it, there was incorrect information on said page. There is no need for warning me as my edits are factual. I am an expert is this field and mean no harm, I am just trying to prevent misinformation — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpblackwell (talk • contribs) 17:40, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Disruptive editing.
I apologize if my editing has appeared as disruptive, untrustworthy and suspicious. I don't edit articles often would regard myself as rather a novice who is still learning how to do so. I did not know about the edit summary, although now I see it and promise to use it. I will ensure that I add references to my edits where appropriate. I do understand people vandalize Wikipedia but I honestly have no intention of doing so. Raul
I'm a little concerned about your interactions with RaulRomero. So far as I can see, you left a warning on his page by mistake. When he asked why you had left the warning, you reverted him [1] and then left him an edit summary warning, reverted him when he asked again, and then banned him from your talk page saying that your message should be "fairly clear"?
Here's a fairly clear message: when you leave a warning on someone's talk page by mistake, apologizing for it is a lot more appropriate than banning the victim from your talk page when he protests.—Kww(talk) 17:04, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- I thought my accidental reversion & misplaced warning was clearly rectified by undoing my edit on the article and removing the message from his talk page. Yes, an apology would have been great, but was just moving along at a quick pace and chose not too. Dawnseeker2000 17:11, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- So banning him from your talk page instead of apologizing was faster? Don't place such a premium on speed.—Kww(talk) 17:14, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Yes, of course. Slowing down to place a proper handwritten explanation of how working too fast had caused an accidental reversion and a misplaced warning. Sometimes I do this, and this time I didn't, and will keep this in mind for next time. Thank you, Dawnseeker2000 17:36, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Indus Valley Civilisation
Dear Dawnseeker, You didnot answered my question. I asked you to see deer image encrypted on throne/seat of Proto Shiva or pashupati seal. same seal is 100% symbol of 16th jain tirthankar shantinath too. Please verify my claims. can you trust your eyes? if yes than please see pashupati seal and tell me if it is a bull or deer? If great authors did mistake in seeing things , doesn't mean that we must continue the same mistake. Can we blind ourself if others cannot see?
I also asked you to look at ancient/modern images from google of jain tirthankar with symbol of deer below his seat, you will see that i wrote truth. Moreover you can clearly see difference between bull and a deer. the pashupati seal/proto shiva in wiki article clearly shows exact figure of deer...so why are you confused? There is more than 1000 pictures of centuries old temples of jain tirthankar shantinath. Please see those images.
One more thing, all jain texts are not available on net like "agams", you can read on wiki that jain texts like "agams" were written 1000-1500 years back. But nobody has put it online.
Source : More than 10,000 ancient places, pictures of centuries old Jain tirthankar Shantinath on google with symbol of deer. Also there is not even a single picture or temple of shiva with deer on his seat. Can you dispute my findings now? Should I stop trusting my eyes and say that pashupati seal/proto shiva has buffalo seal when I can clearly see it is a deer? I gave two sources..did you see them before deleting my script?
I believe new findings & concepts should always be a welcome. So if you have a policy of citing resource than please look at those sources provided . After that start commenting.

- It looks like this is the discussion you were having with the other editor on your talk page. I had asked that you not remove talk page content. He was asking about your sources on a separate article. Thanks, Dawnseeker2000 20:37, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Westmount Secondary School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wei Chen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Links Removed from Near Field Communication Page
I'm new to editing Wikipedia, so appologise if my edit is classed as vandalism? I just linked out to a relevant blog post about the topic of "Smartphone automation and NFC tags" as that's something that my company has recently implemented and so I thought it would be a good example to insert. I read through the whole post and checked the types of links posted out to other websites and thought that mine was no different from the existing links. Can you help me by specifically highlighting why mine was vandalism and the other links on the page are not? 217.34.130.129 (talk) 11:55, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
(I have no idea how to reference the link to you're original note/warning, still learning the ropes of Wikipedia)
Citation Removal
I had a message from yourself stating that my included citation for the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed-circuit_television page was inappropriate . I definitely think it is a mistake and I can't see how it's inappropriate at all? It was an article discussing the paragraph directly and confirming what the Wikipedia article stated (the citation in question is a few paragraphs down in the blog post, so you might have missed the section that discusses it). If that is an inappropriate entry then i don't really understand what an appropriate one is. Please let me know how i could go about adding the citation in again for you to reconsider. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.232.56.100 (talk) 08:52, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Corruption
You rm a statement purporting to explain what corruption is. I think I agree with the deletion. You said in the edit summary "don't address the audience." This seems generally like a good idea, like avoiding the use of personal pronouns. Fourth wall? :) I think "other definitions" are covered in the header to the article
My question: is there a policy about this someplace? Style manual? Sometimes, I have felt obliged to "define out" other definitions by inserting what an article covered. I confess to not feeling "comfortable" about this, but it was that or put up with (later) trying to rm stuff that I thought should be covered in some other (or higher level) article. I wanted my article to be at the "lowest level" and not get sidetracked. Thanks. Student7 (talk) 20:43, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- I may be stretching it a little bit, but yes, I was thinking of WP:TONE when I wrote that. Just thought that specifically stating "this article" feels little bit out of place for an encyclopedia. Dawnseeker2000 02:40, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Enterprise architecture
Greetings,
Will you please help understand the criteria used to determine "reliable and independent source?"
The quote is from CIO-Index which is a community of 50,000 senior IT executives (http://www.cioindex.com/members) - we are discussing an IT topic and a professional network of the top IT executives is not reliable or independent?
Please explain how these criteria apply to Gartner and "Enterprise Architecture Research Forum?"
Thanks!
Here are Wikipedia guidelines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Independent_sources — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.120.26.180 (talk) 02:02, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
- The best bet is to always use the best source available (books are a great to use) and what you'd added to several articles didn't look like a source that's easily recognizable (as an authority in this field). All sources should come from a reliable author and publisher. The website provided isn't one that I'd heard of, and many like it probably exist, and that was the the reason for the removal. Little help
Hey man, can you cut the last second from the file bellow File:Last Rites-Loved to Death demo sample.ogg and reduce the sound quality if possible? Thanks a lot.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 14:39, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Hello again friend. Do you have time go over some audios in the Category:Megadeth audio samples and cut the last second from "Crush 'Em" and "Holy Wars"? They are both over 5 minutes ("Crush 'Em" is 4:57 to be precise) so I think they can be allowed to exist at that length. As for "Symphony of Destruction", I guess the time should be trimmed to 0:25, per WP:SAMPLE. As always, your help is very appreciated.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 22:19, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

I have posted some recommended edits to the talk page but haven't heard any feedback from the editors or Wikipedia community. I want to ensure that I am following the correct process to update the page. Can you please let me know what the appropriate next steps to update the page might be? Would you be willing to make the recommended edits I have to the page? Thanks in advance. Liam Naked Juice (talk) 22:47, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Howdy. I didn't see the need for a week-long discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Earthquakes in 1900 when what you were suggesting could be done boldly and in the name of sensible editing. So I moved the content from Major Earthquakes in 1900 to Earthquakes in 1900 as you suggested (replacing the content there) and redirected one to the other. I kept the earthquakes by year template in place. I've also non-admin closed the AFD and redirected the talk page with relevant templates added to the second. Keep up the good work! Excuse me? How do you know about if this imformation is correct? Dude you obviously aren't from the area and if you look at other articles it has this quake as a 7.7, 7.5 as well. So you tell me how your so sure that this information is correct? Are you from Bakersfield as well? Go on the San Joaquin geological website that talks about it earthquake history there and the southern california earthquake center website. It also does't say it was a 7.3 and it also showed maps of the intensity of the earthquake. Do your research. And get a life. Importance = NA?
Hi! I've been poking about looking at assessments for WikiProject Geology, and I noticed that you rated List of earthquakes in California as "na" on the importance scale. As I understand it, "na" is supposed to be for non-article pages like redirects or templates. (I'm going by {{Importance scheme}}.) Aren't lists considered to be articles (albeit in a separate class), and don't they get rated for importance the same way that "regular" articles do? I changed the importance for that article to "mid" (considering how much focus the state gets from earthquake studies), but if you don't agree, let me know. Thanks! - Gorthian (talk) 23:45, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't disagree, but I've been wondering what to do with our earthquake lists. In this case, I just chose to follow what a number of our other list articles are assessed as. At this point, there are plenty more that do have their importance classified as something other than NA, but so I'm still uncertain which way to go. '2013 North India floods', re figure etc vandalism
You beat me to it! :-( .
I was reverting it but got side tracked by the source for those house figures being dead. Was trying, vainly, to find it again on the Abcnews.go website. My tablet doesn't seem to like their site as I am unable to narrow it down from ≈89,269 results searching for "Death Toll in Indian Monsoon Flooding Nears 600" giving me this, [4]. Perhaps you may seek it with more success?
Bit surprised no one noticed the figure of 29,008,976,334,775 "houses partially damaged"! +29 trillion? :-o --220 of Borg 03:43, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hi 220 of Borg, it really is surprising that that was not noticed sooner so thanks for catching it. I could not locate the original source, so I've simply removed it and cleaned up the infobox a bit. At some point there may be a report on the event that could be used to build up the article (as opposed to using all the newspaper sources). Cheers, Dawnseeker2000 04:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
- Indeed. Such figures are probably not all that important, with +5,000 deaths. There may be a non English source available, somewhere. Happy editing! --220 of Borg 04:38, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

- To which other song were you reffering to? Currently, I'm planning to use this sample in Megadeth. I think the article should feature audio samples from the band's signature songs (unlike "Rattlehead"). Anyway, I nominated the article for FA (the nomination is here), so feel free to comment if interested.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 21:57, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
It was "Symphony of Destruction" from back in December. It's funny that you asked about making a sample for that one because that's probably the only Megadeath song I can name. So was wondering if that one was still needed or not. Dawnseeker2000 22:25, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, I managed to get that sample from another editor; it's already used in the article. But thanks for offer anyway.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 06:22, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
I can do Peace Sells, but I'll need to get a copy of the track first, then will be able to make the sample mid-day on Saturday (PDT). Dawnseeker2000 14:47, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Redirect
Apologies for removing the content to Durham Union Society, I was attempting to redirect the search to the new, more comprehensive page The Durham Union Society. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Yours, Ehplimsoll (talk) 02:15, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. That's what I thought might be the solution. I'll fix it up, Dawnseeker2000 02:17, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Re: my "introduction of false information" on the Japanese Earthquake of 2011 - humanitarian aid
You reverted my edit of 2011 Japanese Earthquake - Humanitarian aid. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanitarian_response_to_the_2011_T%C5%8Dhoku_earthquake_and_tsunami
"Requests --- Japan specifically requested teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States;[4][5] it also requested, via its space agency JAXA, the activation of the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters, allowing diverse satellite imagery of affected regions to be readily shared with rescue and aid organizations.[6]"
Therefore if my edit was incorrect, so is this. I was not intentionally "introducing false information". Thank you.

- Hi, I'm not following you. If you add something that is not sourced, it's called original research. If you add something that is clearly not stated in the provided reference ([5] ref #327 in the article) well that's what I call incorrect. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but there's far too much corruption going on around here to let it slide. Dawnseeker2000 01:03, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Dawnseeker2000, I would like to extend my apologies for taking so long to review your incredible article, 1992 Cape Mendocino earthquakes. I find that the article is well-written, comprehensive, and meets all the criteria for Good Article status. There are a few cosmetic changes that I've suggested at Talk:1992 Cape Mendocino earthquakes/GA1, and once each of these has been addressed, we can proceed with the article's passage to Good Article status! Thank you again for your extraordinary work on this article, and again, I apologize for my review's tardiness! -- Caponer (talk) 12:12, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Reverting of my changes on Charlevoix.
Why removing actual interesting things to put back something as pointless and boring as the comission scolaire ? Who wants to go on vacation and visits school administration building ? There's plenty of relevant information not on the page that I plan to add slowly over time with proper links and sources. Antoblap (talk) 23:25, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- That article is in desperate need of sources. It's been tagged for six years. That's a good reason to not add any more unsourced items. Second, content that should be added at this point is prose. The lists need to be done with, not built up further. Any new content should be added with reliable and secondary sources. Thanks, Dawnseeker2000 23:34, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at the article Skogssamer that I have created. I have nominated it for DYK. But before it will be finally approved some copyediting for Standard English is needed. So if you are interested please take a look. Otherwise thanks anyway :).--BabbaQ (talk) 17:32, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
Peace Sells sample
Hello Dawnseeker. At Megadeth's FAC it was pointed that File:Megadeth - Peace Sells.ogg was longer for a few seconds than allowed. Can you cut off the last three seconds quickly? Appreciate the favor.--Retrohead (talk) 14:49, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Dawnseeker, can you address this issue in the next couple of days? I really need it for fulfilling the FA criteria for non-free media used in articles. Please do it as soon as you can.--Retrohead (talk) 08:07, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited May 2006 Java earthquake, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Billion and Trillion. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

How do you judge which title is better...
...for the recent earthquake in China? The two articles contained different references, so an auto-redirect doesn't appear helpful. Dustin (talk) 16:40, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- The one article was in place for several hours. I simply chose that one to use; we can rename it easily. Dawnseeker2000 16:41, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- I thought the standard was to merge into whichever has the better title to avoid wasting time on a move request. Dustin (talk) 16:48, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- No move request necessary here. The earthquake just happened. The journal articles and books on the event, if any, won't be out for at least a year. Then we can decide on a proper title, based on those sources. The only thing we'll have until then are news agencies or the USGS. Dawnseeker2000 16:51, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
