Speedy deletion nomination of MonkeyHost group
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on MonkeyHost group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of MonkeyHost group
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on MonkeyHost group, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from MonkeyHost, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Waggie (talk) 15:02, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, David.harcus. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article MonkeyHost, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Chrissymad ❯❯❯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:11, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for your reply I have only added basic company information to the wiki and am not expressing any opinion on the company I do not aim to use Wikipedia for any advertising or to say it is a amazing company my aim is to put general information about the founding of the company I have no monetary gain from this.
- I will read over the rules many thanks and kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by David.harcus (talk • contribs)
- Hi David, please remember to sign your talk page comments with "~~~~".
- You definitely stand to have monetary gain by promoting your own company on Wikipedia. You're also making grand and completely unsupported statements like "MonkeyHost was said to manage over 1 million domain names and is said to be connected to over 1m websites in the UK representing 1 in 5 of the UK’s active websites." "Was said" by whom? You? That is blatantly promotional. Waggie (talk) 15:28, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
Your article creation attempts
[edit]Hello David. I've been following your efforts to create an article about your company. I don't think this is going to go well for you, for a variety of reasons. I really don't think you understand Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
- Firstly, Wikipedia is not a place for companies to write about themselves. Wikipedia summarizes what reliable, independent sources say about a topic, but you're not providing any reliable sources for the content in your article. As you're the director of the company, any content you write that isn't sourced to a reliable source clearly is not independent of the topic.
- Secondly, as you have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and guidelines for organizations for more information.
- Thirdly, continuing to recreate articles after they've been deleted is a sure way to end up blocked. If you REALLY want to create an article about your company, you should first declare your conflict of interest properly, and then use the Article Wizard to create a Draft.
Best wishes, Waggie (talk) 15:15, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- The declaration "I am the CEO of [MonkeyHost] and have added basic information about the company. Anyone who wishes to add or express their opinion is free to do so." should be on your userpage. And if you want it to be converted into a draft, I can do that for you. Waggie (talk) 15:36, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- I have moved this to a draft for you, where you can work on it while you sort out the promotional tone and conflict of interest issues. It is now at Draft:MonkeyHost. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Waggie (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, David.harcus, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Nikkefrend (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 06:14, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
