[edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.- To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
- If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here:
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Hello Davestolte. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Davestolte. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Davestolte|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 09:22, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I would further add that new users cannot directly create new articles, and must use Articles for Creation. 331dot (talk) 09:23, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you, reviewed and noted. Davestolte (talk) 17:15, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- I'm getting an error saying I'm still blocked from editing. How can I submit my article for review? Davestolte (talk) 18:14, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- I greatly apologize, I have now removed it. 331dot (talk) 18:16, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Normally I wouldn't do both AfC and review to avoid the appearance of impartiality, but I think this case is a clear exception. Nice article. Thanks for writing it!
