Just got a death threat from here. What do I do?
- Hey, I think the proper way of reporting it if you really are concerned is to email emergency@wikimedia.org -- I found this information in a note on the IRC bot "Helpmebot" (used in Wikipedia's channel) and I'm not sure how valid it is. I'll leave the help request up there in case someone more knowledgeable comes along. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 13:51, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- Just saw someone reported him to Wikipedia:AIV. Don't really think it's valid though. Thanks.
Deleted our update in it's entirety?
Hello,
I am in the process of revising our page with information that is factual and up to date. The page I am editing was not created by us and contained incorrect information. Why did you delete it? Please help me understand. Officeofsaimaa (talk) 18:17, 3 December 2015 (UTC) Office of Sai Maa
- @Officeofsaimaa: First of all, I don't get why you're saying 'us'. Wikipedia's policy is that usernames should not be shared between more than one individual.. Secondly, you need more sources to prove the up to date information.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dat GuyWiki (talk • contribs) 06:41, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Just to say I've declined you CSD nomination of Roger Nkodo Dang. WP:CSD#G10 is very narrow in scope and while this article is very short it doesn't appear to disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass their subject. Nthep (talk) 19:44, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Why did you put a re-assessment tag on this article's talk page? It passed GAN with few issues just a few months ago and there have been few changes to the article since then. And in any case, why didn't you first bring up the issues with me (the primary author) before tagging it? Biblioworm 22:09, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Christopher sean
A tag has been placed on Christopher sean requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 00:39, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
@Stefan2: When it is a redirect you can delete it, however the user recreated it. If you want, you can tag it for BLP PROD. Dat GuyWiki (talk) 09:11, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

french football stadium article not in English
Hi there,
The article Allées Jean Leroi Municipal Stadium is written in English because I just used the Content Translation system to translate it. It is a very short article (but that is not the reason you give for speedy deletion). I have also added a category of
Athletics (track and field) venues in France
to add more information to the article (see picture in infobox). The English of the article is readable.

Suzuhito Yasuda's minor edit
Hi I noticed my change at the page of Suzuhito Yasuda was denied, would a forum post or an image do as a source explaining the reasons of the change, and would saying that it being noted by fans make it a more accurate description of this person’s art style? Can theories well known by fans be edited in? If anything I could easily link the source to an image or a forum post dedicated to discussing this real life person. - River Kauss, someone who really wanted to include the general graphical style of this designer.
- The reason why I reverted your edit was because images need to be used in Wikipedia from commons and not any random place on the internet. Dat GuyTalkContribs 16:51, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
Editing Hippodrome Theatre
Hello DatGuy sorry for the edit error. Before I previewed what I added to the Hippodrome page I made a mistake and clicked save changes. However, the only dominate changes that I have submitted are up to date photos of the theatre and deleting one out of the two info box on the Hippodrome wiki page. For the Info box I didn't think that it made sense to have two info boxes on one page with the interior image of the Hippodrome Theatre all the way at the bottom of the page. See current hippodrome page for reference. I'm referring to the info box with the hippodrome exterior image and the one under it with the national register listing with location map. It looks more cohesive if one out of the two info boxes were consolidated to just one info box preferably the National Register Listing info box would stay. I say this because most of the information in the top info box with the exterior photo of the Hippodrome is already spelled out in the introduction paragraph of the Hippodrome. Whereas information in the national register info box such as the architecture style, the date it got added to the NRHP, reference # and coordinates are not listed in the introductory paragraph. Any information that was lost from deleting the first info box was then added to the detailed description of the hippodrome. See my edit for reference. In this case the only information that was lost from deleting the first info box was just the address and date rebuilt/renovated. Everything else such as the capacity, operator, owner, date built was already listed in the introductory paragraph of the Hippodrome Theatre page. I don't consider the website of the first info box lost information because the http://www.france-merrickpac.com/ website is listed in the reference section of the Hippodrome page. I hope we can come to some kind of agreement in the future. Thank you and happy holidays. Brlaw8 (talk) 12:56, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Brlaw8: When I am using WP:Huggle, it doesn't show the whole page, but just the part that was changed. I didn't see the other infobox, and if you want to revert my edit feel free to do so. Also, it is recommended for you to merge both infoboxes into one. Dat GuyTalkContribs 13:01, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

rollback
Hi Dat GuyWiki. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Katietalk 14:48, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'm okay with giving you rollback because of your counter-vandalism work, which I expect you to continue with common sense and good judgment, but don't use the admin templates at AIV unless you're 100% certain you're correct. It's inappropriate to tell someone who has reported an IP to take it to SPI because IPs are only tied to registered accounts under extraordinary circumstances (it's considered outing). At any rate, you're under a more highly powered microscope now, so rollback wisely. :-) Katietalk 14:48, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- @KrakatoaKatie: Thank you very much for that! Anyways, I've seen administrators tell users who have reported block evasion to go to WP:SPI, so is there a specific time when you should go to SPI and when to keep it at AIV? Dat GuyTalkContribs 14:55, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'd rather see it at AIV first, personally. I block IPs for block evasion several times a week based on AIV reports. SPI sometimes takes a while because of their backlog, and if you link to the SPI investigation in your AIV report we can block quicker. Much if not most of the SPI process involves the duck test; if it's not completely obvious, we'll send it to SPI. Hope that helps. Katietalk 15:04, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) (talk page watcher) Obvious block evasion can be reported to AIV. Situations where you need to "connect the dots" should go to SPI. It also depends on the patrolling admin as some are, shall we say, more strict about processing "vandals or spammers" only at AIV. --NeilN talk to me 15:06, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- @NeilN: and @KrakatoaKatie: Thank you both for helping me. Also, how does the mass rollback script (here) work? Dat GuyTalkContribs 15:07, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- If you install it and go to a contrib page, you'll see a "rollback all" tab at the top of the page. Clicking it will require you to confirm you really want to rollback all the edits on the list that can be rolled back (i.e., the ones that are current). Be very, very careful when using this. --NeilN talk to me 15:20, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

- Never mind, I found it. Dat GuyTalkContribs 15:30, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your activity in counter-vandalism, but can I reiterate Katie's point not to use admin response templates? At RFPP, it's not urgent to decline something and it is good to have an admin look at it. By all means comment if you have a helpful thing to say but don't use a template because it will cause the bot to archive the request. BethNaught (talk) 22:23, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
- @BethNaught: I try to highlight the part that says editors note and I thought that the bot won't archive the request. If you feel it isn't constructive, tell me and I'll stop it however if it's fine by you I will add the text, but not the template. Regards, Dat GuyTalkContribs 22:26, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

Is there a deletion nomination option/speedy deletion template for an article that has been recreated by the same user after speedy deletion? For reference: Luperley Dat GuyWiki (talk) 12:42, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- If the original reason still applies, you can nominate it again for that reason. Otherwise, no, only articles deleted following a deletion discussion qualfy for "speedy deletion because they were deleted before" - that's so we don't have to repeat the discussion if it's basically the same article. don't use admin templates at RFPP
Please don't use the admin response templates at RFPP. Cyberbot archives requests when it sees those templates, and it can cause a request to be archived without an administrator response. I appreciate your desire to help, but RFPP doesn't need to be clerked. Thanks. :-) Katietalk 00:11, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

I saw that on one of your template additions at AIV last night, and that request should have been acted on sooner – even the reporter seemed to assume you were an administrator. Please stop. Admins have to look at the page ourselves anyway, and you're only confusing the people you're trying to help. Katietalk 14:21, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- @KrakatoaKatie: I was pretty sure that he realised that I am not an administrator since I had editor note, in my opinion and 'highlight on the editor and note pard', I'll assume bad faith and stop these apparently non-constructive edits. Regards, Dat GuyTalkContribs 14:41, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- @KrakatoaKatie: @BethNaught: A user that vandalized a talk page has just been blocked (Special:Contributions/86.180.206.149). Am I allowed to add 'user blocked' as either text or template or should I just leave it for the patrolling administrator? Dat GuyTalkContribs 16:16, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- To do so would be redundant as the bot removes blocked users from AIV almost instantly. BethNaught (talk) 16:19, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- @BethNaught: Not from AIV, but from RFPP. Dat GuyTalkContribs 16:20, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- No, because it will cause the bot to archive it, even though page protection may still be appropriate as an additional measure. Like Katie said, using the templates implies an admin has investigated the situation, which in your case would not be true. RFPP is neither overly complex nor whack-a-mole and for that reason does not need clerking. BethNaught (talk) 16:27, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
I have effectively declined your speedy deletion of Essam Hamad Salem. You were correct there wasn't a credible claim to significance inb what you tagged. The problem is the editor had overwritten an article about another person with their autobiography. Why ban me from Wikipedia, all I did is change something in the Pristina article, and you warn me with ban, you put Serbian language in all cities of Kosovo, and when I edit them to the Albanian language like the names of Pristina to Prishtina, you threaten me to ban, are you pro-Serbs or what, stick this in your heads that every name of the Kosovar cities that are in Serbian language, must be re-written with the right names, that are in the Albanian Language and no the Serbian Language, Kosovo is not part of Serbia anymore since 2008, and why can't the birth place of Rita Ora not be Kosovo but it should be SFR Yugoslavia, she's is not from Serbia but from Kosovo, for every personality that I read in wikipedia, example German personalities, like Thomas Muller, his birthplace is in Germany and not France, why can't the same be applied to Rita Ora's birthplace, why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dardn2015 (talk • contribs) 16:30, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Dardn2015: Why did you remove proper links? That's what I reverted. Dat GuyTalkContribs 17:03, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Dat GuyWiki: Those aren't proper links, anymore, because SFR Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore, now it's Kosovo. Dardn2015 (talk 10:08, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I am now on the verge of exploding as this IP has returned with two new IPs. I am going to open an SIP complaint. Could you list all of the IP addresses from the user that you are aware of? Thanks, Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 20:39, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

"Tone" of Clyde cancer cluster
Why is it "out of tone"? Okay, so I deleted the word "finally", and I reread the entire article, but I certainly didn't see anything wrong with neutrality. Keep in mind that on Wikipedia, the neutrality rule can be slipped away if one side of the question is factually true, i.e., it is actually true that "the Clyde cancer cluster has affected many families in Clyde, Ohio and surrounding areas," and I think that's a good starting sentence because I couldn't find out from any of my sources as to whether "the cancer cluster" is considered to still be going on, so I used that sentence to slip away from saying that it was or wasn't still going on. I assume it is, because the people who had cancer still have cancer. I'm collecting more sources now at User:Philmonte101/Clyde cancer cluster/References in order to make a better article, with the help of possibly other people. Philmonte101 (talk) 21:41, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- PS: I almost deleted the tag altogether, but I thought it would be unfair to do that without discussing why it was put there first. I don't know, I just presented to you my opinions, and I was the writer, so maybe I should listen to your point of view also. So go ahead. Philmonte101 (talk) 21:44, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Philmonte101: It's fine. I just wanted to carry out what a user has wanted. I closed the AfD, but I just wanted to satisfy the want of one of the users (the one who started) the not-well done AfD. Regards, Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:51, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
Vote: Alexa Brown
I made a vote on Talk:Clyde cancer cluster. I encourage you highly to vote on whether Alexa should or shouldn't have a separate article. Thanks. Philmonte101 (talk) 03:15, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Splitting
When I was talking about Alexa Brown being its own article, I was talking about doing that during the process of rewriting the article and doing a massive expansion of the article's info. Currently, there is only one sentence about Alexa Brown on the whole article. Does that still qualify as needing a splitting tag? I reverted it for now, somewhat accidentally, but you can put it back if you feel it's necessary. Philmonte101 (talk) 09:04, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Philmonte101: If there is only one sentence in it, then you shouldn't discuss it on the article's talk page. I've just woke up and didn't have my cup of coffee yet, so I might be a bit slow or confused. Dat GuyTalkContribs 09:07, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- It's okay, I know the feeling. Philmonte101 (talk) 09:08, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
