Olivia Matthias moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Olivia Matthias, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, I'm not certain whether Coope meets the critrria at WP:NTRIATHLON. Perhaps you could review the notability guideline and point out which one(s) she meets. Thank you. Please ping me when replying. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 16:15, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Eagleash: Professional 3rd place finish at the Ironman World Championships 1991, 6x ETU European Triathlon champion at 3 distances. DPiercy83 (talk) 16:34, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding. I'm still unsure; please can you state which number criteria she meets. The guidelines don't seem to mention ETU and at the only ITU event mentioned in the draft it seems she finished outside the top ten. Having said that I've now reviewed the criteria again and I believe the Ironman bronze gets her over the line. I'll move the draft shortly. Thanks for your co-operation. Eagleash (talk) 17:06, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Eagleash:

The ETU is the European Triathlon Union and was in existence before the ITU was formed in 1989. Major international competitions prior to 1989 therefore *couldn't* be sanctioned by the ITU. It may be a discussion for another day but I feel the ETU should be recognised in the guidance, as a win at ETU level means you are the best in a Continental professional championship. DPiercy83 (talk) 17:12, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I daresay you could be right. If you feel like it you could start a discussion at the project talk page. Quick point... please indent replies using ascending numbers of colons. If you reply (no need!) use 2; if I then reply to you I use three. If someone also replies to me in addition to you they would also use two. (Which is usually where the whole thing collapses). No need to leave blank lines and just in case you are not aware, when you leave a 'ping' you need to do it all in one go; ping, message and signature in one fell swoop. Cheers. Draft:Standard and Sprint Distance Triathlon Records

[edit]

Hi DPiercy83,

What are you doing with Draft:Standard and Sprint Distance Triathlon Records? I do not think that this is a draft article. It is not a singular topic supported by reputable secondary sources that speak directly to the topic and in depth. (Or if it is, you need these references up front).

It seems to contain a lot of useful information, but I think it all overlaps content that belongs in existing articles. You need to avoid content forking. See Wikipedia:Content forking.

Alternatively, you may be thinking to justify this as a navigational aid? If so, the navigation linking needs to be clearer and easier. I suggest a table format.

If this is just for your own reference, not intended to be its own stand alone article, then it would be better WP:Moved into your userspace. User:DPiercy83/Standard and Sprint Distance Triathlon Records.
