Notability of Maria tatar
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Maria tatar, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Maria tatar seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Maria tatar, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit]Are you by any chance planning to do all of her stories? Let me know, because I have actually read all of them in the Collected Works,, and I know at least one of the probably 10 other people who have also. I have however removed your link to the Purple Jar from the menstruation article, because if it was a theme, it was almost certainly an unconscious one. The link should only be for stories that are truly characteristic or emblematic or path-breaking & have sources to show it. I don't see a source at all in the Purple Jar--no doubt there is one, but unlessits a standard example it still shouldn't get a link from the general article. DGG (talk) 01:21, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
You can't just add a piece of scholarship and give a list of books as a reference. You'd have to give the page number from a book with the author's name, place and year of publication, etc. Just like an academic paper.Zigzig20s (talk) 10:49, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:RobertRBowie.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:RobertRBowie.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Zubis rises.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Zubis rises.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. - Hi Critic11. Sorry, but, I'm not sure what you meant by that. I'd be happy to help you out here but I'm going to need some clarification. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 20:38, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I can definitely help with that. But first I need to know how (through what venue - e.g. email) the author/copyright owner has given you permission to put the image up on Wikipedia. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:53, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- And perhaps how the permissions are detailed. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, well, this email's permissions aren't exactly what is required for the image to be kept on Wikipedia without being deleted but for a first timer to WP:OTRS, you're doing a great job! This system is used to manage email permissions in which the copyright holders/authors of files have granted permission to users of Wikimedia projects (presumably en.wikipedia in this case) to upload the works of the copyright holders/authors of files. Emails with permissions from the copyright holder/authors must be sent/forwarded to "permissions-en@wikimedia.org". They should contain an explanation of the permissions and what limitations, if any, of usage on Wikipedia. Lastly, the copyright holder/author should select a license for the image to be released under. A list can be found here. This can be a confusing or complex process so if you have any questions or need help, feel free to ask me. Best, FASTILY (TALK) 22:09, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it appears the image was deleted because it was missing a copyright tag. You may wish to re-upload the image if you know under what license the author/copyright owner has released the image. The instructions above should be sufficient for what you are trying to do here so if you follow them, you'll be fine. But if you are in need further instruction, let me know and I will see what I can do. Cheers, FASTILY (TALK) 19:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Genies
[edit]Whether or not Arabian genies are hot in the publishing world, that has nothing to do with whether this particular (novel about a) genie meets criteria for inclusion. (We really wouldn't have an article about the character without having one about the work in which the character exists, I should point out)
I note that the novel is published by BookSurge... which is the print on demand organ of Amazon.com. True, "print on demand" is not necessarily the same thing as "vanity press", but it's still a definite negative re: the book's notability.
The novel was also described as "award-winning". Unfortunately... which award? I did some rummaging around and, although I am loath to describe the Next Generation Indie Book Awards as a scam... I don't think they have yet reached the point where winning such an award is an assertion of notability. They might, in a few years. But not yet.
I hope you understand. DS (talk) 15:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Susan J. Wolfson, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://pages.towson.edu/ncctrw/publications/DAWolfson.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:57, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Susan J. Wolfson
[edit]A tag has been placed on Susan J. Wolfson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Marilee Lindemann has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. --Darkwind (talk) 18:41, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- Please note that I do think Ms. Lindemann likely meets the notability guidelines, but none of the external links are reliable sources, and the new BLP policy does state that the article must have at least one reliable source. --Darkwind (talk) 18:42, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:ML spoke.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:ML spoke.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Non-free use disputed for File:MarkWilsonCartoon.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:MarkWilsonCartoon.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thank you. Closedmouth (talk) 08:50, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jason R. Rudy, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.englweb.umd.edu/englfac/JRudy/rudycv.htm.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. File permission problem with File:MiriamNKotzin.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:MiriamNKotzin.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. De728631 (talk) 17:52, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Linda DeLibero
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Linda DeLibero requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
