DYK for Pieter Baas

Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:01, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wim Mook, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Haren. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rafael Lapesa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University of Madrid. Hello, I noticed that you added wikilinks directly into the author parameters of the cite journal template at articles such as Tierra del Fuego. Please don't do that; it makes it harder for the template to be read by machines. Instead use parameters like author4-link, as described at Template:Cite journal. I've fixed all the links you made to Zvi Ben-Avraham. Graham87 04:09, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Graham, I was not aware of that issue. Thank you for pointing it out and for making the effort to fix my edits. Crispulop (talk) 17:13, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Avenida de Blasco Ibañez

I'll be in Valencia this weekend and can finally get a pic of the Avenida. Any other photo requests when I'm over that way, let me know. Valenciano (talk) 02:29, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

Sounds great, enjoy your time there! I've read there is a statue to Manuel Broseta on the intersection of the Avenida with the Carrer del Dr. Rodríguez Fornos. I would really appreciate it if you could take a picture of that to illustrate the article. Crispulop (talk) 20:38, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Just read this. I'll be up that way again tomorrow for he football. I think I know the statue you mean. Valenciano (talk) 20:29, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Augusto Barbera

On 29 April 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Augusto Barbera, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that on this day in 1993, former Italian Communist Party politician Augusto Barbera served for several hours as a Minister in the Ciampi Cabinet? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Augusto Barbera. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Augusto Barbera), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Promotion of DYK Augusto Barbera

I did the promotion correctly, but the hook was moved to another prep set to keep it on the special occasion date and the credit line was inadvertently dropped. I've inquired at BlueMoonset's talk page about what to do. Yoninah (talk) 20:44, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

Thank you Yoninah! Crispulop (talk) 20:46, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Apologies for messing up the transfer, Crispulop, Yoninah. I've belatedly posted the acknowledgement below, and also adding the DYK talk template to the article's talk page. Please let me know if anything doesn't look right, or seems missing. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:17, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you, @BlueMoonset:. Yoninah (talk) 22:29, 30 April 2016 (UTC)

I declined your speedy tag because the article was hijacked to a completely different topic. I've restored the original version. I don't think that's much better either but it passes our speedy criteria. The one that you had tagged is incidentally located at Jaaga. I think PROD or AfD might be more appropriate for both than would another speedy. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 04:38, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi SpacemanSpiff. All the different articles and article histories seem pretty poor content indeed. Thanks for the explanation. Crispulop (talk) 20:13, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Dayco

I decided against a speedy deletion of Dayco, as it is a $1 billion company with over 4000 employees, and I think that it should be discussed at WP:AFD to determine the long term viability of having an article about it. --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:36, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Hello Jax 0677. The notability of the article subject was not the issue here, it might comply with notability criteria. Rather, it was the fact that it is pure promotion for the company and that the entire article history has been like that. That makes it therefore eligble for speedy deletion. Please feel free to revert the article to one of your initial redirects or start the article over from scratch again. If it remains in this state I'll nominate the article for a speedy deletion again. Crispulop (talk) 20:09, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Reply - An article should not be nominated for speedy deletion twice. The next steps are {{PROD}} or WP:AFD. --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:29, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi Jax 0677. At Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion I don't see a rule for an article not being allowed to be requested for speedy deletion multiple times. I do however see a rule (in the lead section) for the creator of the article not being allowed to remove the speedy deletion request, which is what you did. Crispulop (talk) 20:35, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Reply - I only created the redirect, so put it back then, and leave it to the explanations. --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:46, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Crispulop, 25 DYKs is no mean feat

The 25 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
We seem to be getting a bit behind with giving out DYK medals for 25 new or expanded articles. I think a few have exceeded the 25 count but I'd like to recognise Crispulop, Valenciano, Random86, Brianhe, EdChem, Raymie, Amgisseman(BYU), The Almightey Drill and Captain Assassin!. Maybe one thing to say is that anyone can give out these awards so do have a go. Meanwhile I have the pleasure of thanking you on behalf of the DYK project, the wiki readers and me. Well done. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:31, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello again. I just marked one of your articles as patrolled, keep up the good work. But I'm just wondering why you don't have autopatrolled rights? You're clearly a good faith trustworthy editor and it will reduce workload for patrollers. Valenciano (talk) 19:47, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Betsy Bakker-Nort, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barneveld (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

  • Hello. Many thanks for your contributions to the article! The text you added on the achievements of Albert Zwaveling was very valuable to improve the quality of the article. As you might have noticed, I did some re-writing and I also deleted some content which unfortunately could not be verified yet (for the Wikipedia policy see: Wikipedia:Verifiability). But I hear you have some more information and references, please feel free to add them! All the best. Crispulop (talk) 21:55, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:People from Mafraq requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
