New to Wikipedia
Thank you Theroadislong for your feedback. Really appreciate it. Being new to Wikipedia and posting - how can we improve the article to better it and help get it approved? Is there people that can actually help edit it properly in the correct format. Creatorsforum (talk) 22:02, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Creatorsforum", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 22:05, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the message 331dot, please note that I might have misled a misunderstanding by using the word "WE" in my previous message. But I do reassure that the userpage I have as "Creatorsforum" is in fact operated by myself as a single individual and that it does not represent or group, organization, etc. The account is also not shared by multiple people. Should you suggest I still continue doing a change of username, I'd be happy to do so. But I am in fact an individual that attempted to start this article for this SA television show. - "Creatorsforum" suggests a group. My advice would be to change it. 331dot (talk) 22:38, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Creatorsforum. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Draft:Talent Africa, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Creatorsforum. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Creatorsforum|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 22:08, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Captain Eek thanks for the message. There is no financial stake involved and I am most certainly a single individual that attempted (but did so poorly) to start the article for this reality show due to the fact that I really liked it and what they were doing and representing. I did, however, offer one of the creators of the television show that I will "TRY" and create an article for the show, due to the fact that I like the show and what they do and it's also a television show that is currently being broadcast on national television in South Africa on a leading television distribution company. I felt that they deserved to have a Wikipedia page like any other televised show/reality show. I have been wanting to dabble in creating this article and therefore attempted. But I have not been paid or given any monetary reimbursement for my contribution or assistance in "attempting" to create the Wikipedia page for the television show. There is no direct or indirect compensation involved. Doing only because I wanted to. I did however ask the creators time to time for information and furthermore used information that was available on the internet, articles and etc. I would definitely be open to learning how to improve the article and to better it towards Wiki's standards for an article. [edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
