Responding to RFCs

Remember that RFCs are part of Dispute Resolution and at times may take place in a heated environment. Please take a look at the relevant RFC page before responding and be sure that you are willing and able to enter that environment and contribute to making the discussion a calm and productive one focussed on the content issue at hand. See also Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Suggestions for responding.

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Talk:Foxconn. Should you wish to respond to the invitation, your contribution to this discussion will be very much appreciated! However, please note that your input will carry no greater weight than anyone else's: remember that an RFC aims to reach a reasoned consensus position, and is not a vote. In support of that, your contribution should focus on thoughtful evaluation of the issues and available evidence, and provide further relevant evidence if possible.

Vandalism

[edit]

Fair call, I should have clicked a different button to revert it. User:AMAZINGEDITER was just making odd, rapid (and sometimes incorrect) grammatical changes to articles, seemingly just to attain autoconfirmed status, so I was clicking through everything unconstructive. I think it's probably worth using the word "collectible" in the lede, since that's nearer to the common name of the game genre. --McGeddon (talk) 11:57, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus

[edit]

But you need a consensus to change four years old policy. That's how things works here. For your information, I supported the change during the RFC, but this is wrong way to go. Regards!--В и к и T 13:38, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. You're an admin, and you subvert all that time people have put into this with your little stopgap solution? There's BRD, and then there's simply ignoring the process. Doc talk 17:45, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your SOPA page

[edit]

Hi Crazynas. I was just doing an IRC office hours chat, and people there asked me if the Wikimedia Foundation could provide them with information about SOPA on an ongoing basis, as events unfold. Links to good news articles, information about what other organizations are planning in terms of protest, legal interpretations and so forth. So far, the best and most central gathering place seems to be the page you created (thank you). Do you mind if the Wikimedia Foundation uses your page to post information on, or would you rather we start a different page somewhere else? If it's okay with you, I'd like to use your page, since it already exists and people know about it. I have just put a note at the top of the page saying that. But if you'd prefer we not use it, please just remove the note, and we'll make a different page. Either's fine with me. Thanks Sue Gardner (talk) 19:21, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is absolutely fine... the purpose of that page was to allow discussion and free flow of information in an out of the way place that doesn't draw the... crowd... certain of our founders talkpage does. I'm glad it could be of use! Crazynas t 21:27, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation Cabal: Request for participation

[edit]

Dear Crazynas: Hello. This is just to let you know that you've been mentioned in the following request at the Mediation Cabal, which is a Wikipedia dispute resolution initiative that resolves disputes by informal mediation.

The request can be found at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/27 February 2012/Wikipedia:Verifiability.

Just so you know, it is entirely your choice whether or not you participate. If you wish to do so, and we'll see what we can do about getting this sorted out. At MedCab we aim to help all involved parties reach a solution and hope you will join in this effort.

If you have any questions relating to this or any other issue needing mediation, you can ask on the case talk page, the MedCab talk page, or you can ask the mediator, Mr. Stradivarius, at their talk page. MedcabBot (talk) 14:08, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
