Anime POV tag
[edit]May I inquire as to what portion of the anime article seems POV to you? I had thought the article was in good condition but it is mostly maintaned by crazed otaku-types (like myself...<_< >_>) so it may have veered in the wrong direction. What part of the article inspired you to add the POV tag? Finite 21:49, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind, I wrote the above before you stated your concerns on the discussion boards, I'll try and fix some of that.Finite 21:53, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello again, Covington, I attempted to clean up the Anime article a bit. How'd I do?Finite 22:39, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Does that mean you think it can lose the tag now? Finite 23:02, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
May the Force be with you.
[edit]Dear Covington/0050,
- Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 21:53, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the support on my RfA!
[edit]File:Danavecpurpletiger.jpg | A belated thank you to you for Supporting my RFA! It passed 54/2/3, much better than I expected! I am still finding my feet as an Administrator, and so far I am enjoying the experience. I am honoured that you felt I was ready to take up this position, and wish to thank you formally! I hope I can live up to your expectations of me. Once again, thank you! --Darth Deskana (talk page) 19:14, 4 May 2006 (UTC) |

WP:ESP/UPA templates
[edit]As you did the spamming last time, do you know what/where all the templates are? I know about Template:Upajudge, as you put it on my talk page last time :) The contest is starting again tommorrow, so feel free to sign up again, but either way it would be nice to know what the templates all are (and then we can link to them from the UPA page so we don't have this problem every time!) Petros471 08:32, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- We've now found some more (see Wikipedia_talk:Esperanza/User_Page_Award#Templates). Is the one at the bottom of your sandbox one that exists as a template or is that one you made? If so could you make that into a template as it would be nice to have one for runners up. Cheers, Petros471 13:22, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've moved the message for you (as it doesn't really make sense out of this conversation thread). Yes, please do create a template for that. I've probably got a couple of minor wording change suggestions but that can be done after the template is created. Petros471 13:39, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Rome
[edit]Hey Covington, any idea why there's been such little improvement made to the Rome article? I've seen little done other than what I've done myself and a few minor grammatical corrections by someone else. Are we the only two working on it? Sicilianmandolin 17:13, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available
[edit]After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:14, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Esperanza
[edit]Hi Cov, I noticed your name on the Esperanza alert page. While it wasn't exactly clear what was on your user page that was bugging you, I think it's a safe bet to assume that it's the shake up at CJ/Concordia. Just wanted to leave a note of support, thanking you for what you've done to try to improve Wikipedia. I agree with some of the criticisms, but I also find some of them over-the-top and excessive. Regardless of what happens to the project, I hope that you'll keep sight of your goal of maintaining civility and a cool head in editing. Let me know if I can help in any way. Hi Covington, and a "full" thank you for your supportive comments in my request for adminship! With a final tally of (109/5/1), I have been entrusted with adminship. A short Esperanzial update
[edit]As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
