[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Softacom
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Softacom, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The file File:Softacom-logo-vector.svg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Image of a unnotable topic that has since been deleted. No obvious value in transferring to Commons
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Salavat (talk) 03:02, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit] As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Draft:Softacom, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:CourtneySCalhoun, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CourtneySCalhoun|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia.
You said that you had been recruited to create this article here. You were told to make the appropriate disclosures here. Wikignome Wintergreentalk 03:47, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Wikignome Wintergreentalk, I do not receive payment for my entries nor do I have vested interests in the company/companies about which I post.
--CourtneySCalhoun (talk) 20:14, 7 December 2021 (UTC)- We can accept your word that you're not being paid, but you still have a WP:COI to disclose, as you stated "The company's VP reached out to me for assistance. She provided me with copy for posting." You must disclose that COI as per the instructions here: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#howtodisclose. Do this before doing anything else.
- Once you've done that, if you still want to pursue creating this article, you need to find reliable, independent, published sources (nothing from or by the company, or anyone connected to it; see WP:Verifiability) and summarize them, citing each fact as you go. It's okay for you to do that in your sandbox - User:CourtneySCalhoun/sandbox - but you can no longer recreate the draft, as it has been "salted" by an admin named Hoary due to repeated recreations.
- For more about salting, see Wikipedia:Protection policy#Creation protection. Quoting from that page: "Editors wishing to re-create a salted title with appropriate content should either contact an administrator (preferably the protecting administrator), file a request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection#Current requests for reduction in protection level, or use the deletion review process. To make a convincing case for re-creation, it is helpful to show a draft version of the intended article when filing a request." The new sandbox draft is what you would use when asking for re-creation. Don't paste the same poorly sourced, promotional material into your sandbox, or that will just end up getting deleted too. Speedy deletion nomination of User:CourtneySCalhoun/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:CourtneySCalhoun/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
