This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Welfare schemes for women in India, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://currentaffairsappsc.blogspot.com/2012/03/welfare-schemes-for-women.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. A cup of coffee for you!

Thanks for making Indian patent law, improving the article on the ministry of health by adding the criticism about banning then allowing that prescription drug, and for describing the women's health schemes. When you add content to Wikipedia please have a citation for every bit of information you add. If you do that, you will have almost no problems. Thanks a lot. Blue Rasberry (talk) 13:39, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for the cup of coffee Blue Rasberry I will surely take care of the "citation for every bit of information you add" part. I adhere to it in my subsequent edits and also cleanup the edits which I have made till date .

Commons sibi (talk) 14:59, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. I am also interested in health issues in India and perhaps we could collaborate on something in the future. If you ever want support or second opinions about developing health articles then feel free to drop on at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. People there will always give support, and I am often there as well. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:03, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Sure we could collaborate . Currently , I am trying to work on the article Health in India . I am not sure on what lines the article has to be modeled . Can I ask for help in the WikiProject Medicine page .?Commons sibi (talk) 15:36, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
You could ask this on that page. I also am not sure what the model should be. For the United States, the article just directs readers to various more specific articles - Health in the United States. I am not sure what other countries are doing. Right now, this "Health in India" article is covering both health care and the state of public health in India, and perhaps these are different topics. Also, there is nothing in Health in India about the culture of health practices such as Ayurveda or Yoga. The article could have a very broad scope. Probably the biggest problem will be outlining it. I am going to be offline until the end of this month. Contact me sometime after that and perhaps we can work on this article together. Thanks! Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:52, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Sure . Thanks a ton for the timely help.Commons sibi (talk) 16:21, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Indian people, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eurasians (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Indian Railways

Hi Commons sibi, nice work adding the new section "toilets" in the Indian Railways article. I've gone through it and had to smile to myself when I saw the photograph. Overall, it seems good (done some cleanup) but I would still suggest you ask an editor whose familiar with this article about this. (Either on the article's talk page or personally) I having a slight doubt about the relevance of the whole section and I feel it needs to be shortened and reformatted further. Sincerely, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 19:01, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello Ugog Nizdast , thanks a lot for the compliment . One more thanks for the clean up .

Please let me know what could be done in the article Commons sibi (talk) 08:37, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

That's the problem, I do have some issues about it (which I've expressed above) but may be wrong. If no one is interested in the article then I would like you to ask some editor familiar with the article (or on the talk page itself) about this, fitting this section into the article, especially in accordance with the WP:FA (since it was a former FA). -Ugog Nizdast (talk) 09:04, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Opting in to VisualEditor

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:28, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Greetings, your page Domestic workers in India is a great idea, but the current version needs work. The problem is that you say very little about India in the article, but rather simply give a very broad definition of what a "domestic worker" is. We have a clear link to the article domestic worker, so there's no need to get into definitions, except in that if India has particular legal distinctions of the term, notably different from usage of the term in other nations.

What would, however, be very helpful, is any cited observations about the demographics, economics, and working conditions of d.w.'s within India. What parts of India or what social communities do they tend to come from? Are their statistic on their average wages/economic level? Any good observations about political controversies about, for example, indentured servitude, child labour, or employee abuse within the field of domestic workers?

Good idea for an article, just right now it's really short on specifics. MatthewVanitas (talk) 13:10, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi MatthewVanitas,Thank you for the input . Sure will work on it in 2-3 days :) Commons sibi (talk) 13:14, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello Commons sibi. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Sarah Harrison(journalist)".

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 22:01, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

The deleted contents have been given back . Article with same name has been created .--Commons sibi (talk) 17:53, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Indira Paryavaran Bhawan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://pib.nic.in/newsite/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=104214. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. BiH (talk) 08:24, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Test article for sandbox page

Hello Commons sibi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Test article for sandbox page for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 03:25, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Warning icon Hello Commons sibi, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Election Commission of India has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gsingh (talk) 17:53, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you wish to resume editing, it may be necessary for you to demonstrate your understanding of these policies and reassure the community of your willingness to comply. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:23, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Hello Commons sibi! You are now blocked from using Wikipedia for copyright violations and I see that you are talking with others about this. If you come to any problem and need help resolving it then inform me and I will join you. Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 11:36, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi Blue Rasberry , given the current situation , what am I expected to do now to get myself unblocked :(
(edit conflict) I have opened the Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Commons sibi and blocked you after verifying that you continued copying after multiple warnings above, including the one on 27 February that clearly notified you that you could be blocked after you persisted. While your notes here and here could reflect a legitimate misunderstanding, the fact is that you have copied from multiple sites - including news sources. For instance, on 3 March 2014 you created the article Majithia Wage Boards, which included copied text:

Its recommendations are to be implemented from April 2014 and arrears paid in four instalments within a year. I have identified multiple news websites in other articles.
Because of this, and because you have been pointed multiple times to our copyright policies, I feel it is necessary to block you until you can indicate a clear understanding of our copyright policies.
In a nutshell, you cannot copy content to Wikipedia except in brief and clearly marked quotations used for good reasons, unless you can demonstrate that it is public domain or compatibly licensed. (You can't, for instance, quote something from a source because you don't want to take the time to put it in your own words - a quotation should be used to attribute a point of view or illustrate a point. Generally, you should only use a quotation when there is a good reason for us to hear what that particular source said in the original language.) Even if you can demonstrate that content is public domain and compatibly licensed, you must acknowledge any copying to comply with Wikipedia:Plagiarism and sometimes to meet legal attribution requirements. Otherwise, all content you place here should be written in your own words and structure. You need to be careful not to too closely follow your sources. Please review Wikipedia:Copy-paste and the guidelines and policies that it links to.
In terms of the copyright of content on NIC, as mentioned at the CCI, I'm afraid it is not compatibly licensed. It allows reproduction but not modification. This is incompatible with Wikipedia's Terms of Use. While our public domain guidelines explain that you may reproduce some Indian government material, it is restricted to laws and judicial rulings. This is because the United States copyright laws that govern Wikipedia do not permit copyright on such materials regardless of where and by what government they are published.
If you wish to be unblocked, again, please review those materials. I would have no issue with your being unblocked by any administrator provided you will indicate that you understand and will require with our policies, refraining from copying content from any other website or source except in the permitted manner, with clear marking of copying and for one of the allowed reasons. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:47, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

//Because of this, and because you have been pointed multiple times to our copyright policies, I feel it is necessary to block you until you can indicate a clear understanding of our copyright policies."//

Its true , previously once i have been told about this , and I subsequently made corrections to the entire edit . But , its not multiple times(have been warned twice) I have been warned . True , a single user indicted me for it on 3-4 articles continuously (In a span of 2 days ). But still that doesnt amount to "pointed multiple times to our copyright policies" . I am not defending my action . Yes , I took PIB for granted during initial stages of editing . but , I hope it doesnt amount to vandalism or with any malicious behaviour . Having said this , can I know the procedure to get unblocked . Once I read a news and confirm its validity , I immediately feel like updating it in Wikipedia . Its kind of passion . Blocking indefinitey is too big a punishment . I am ready to correct myself .Commons sibi (talk) 12:28, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

You were warned multiple times, with your first warning on 5 June 2013 ([1]) and subsequent warnings on 12 December 2013, twice on 27 February 2014 (including one that says, "This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.") An indefinite block is not an infinite block. It can be lifted when we have reason to believe that you understand and will follow the copyright policies on Wikipedia. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:32, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
MoonriddengirlAgain sorry to contest it . The first warning which you pointed amounted to be that , the content was copied from PIB into the above mentioned site and hence madmanbot tagged it for copyright violation .But one thing for sure . Lessons learnt . I will not do a copy paste even if its from PIB . And would make sure that it never happens with other news sources too . //It can be lifted when we have reason to believe that you understand and will follow the copyright policies on Wikipedia.//How can I prove myself without being allowed to edit wikipedia . If I edit only I can prove that , I am not doing any mistake . Commons sibi (talk) 12:39, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Read the block template above and show us that you understand the copyright policy, why your edits were harmful to Wikipedia and how your editing will change as a result to avoid these problems. For what it's worth, I fully support this block and would have done exactly the same. MER-C 12:36, 21 May 2014 (UTC) Revised. MER-C 13:25, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Everything you need to read, understand and do in order to be unblocked is contained in or linked to from this section. You need to address the points I mentioned in an unblock request. I'm not going to assist you any further because these are exactly the skills you need to develop in order to rectify the problems with your editing. MER-C 13:25, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Hello Sibi! What is happening here is a Western cultural tradition which does not exist in India. Western people have these rituals that go back to the beginning of our Greek philosophy and Abrahamic religion which make us fond of going through apology and explanation exchanges that I have found seem strange to people in India. The way you navigate this here (and in any context with a Western person) is that you state outright what you did wrong, say why it was wrong, accept blame for whatever part is yours, and then tell something that you will do in the future to prevent the problem from happening again. There is no concept of shame in Western culture like exists in India, so when a person does this, it is supposed to increase their respect not cause a problem for them. If this happens in India it often seems humiliating because of different religion and culture, but that is not the intent here. I hope that helps you understand why these people are pressing you like this. Blue Rasberry (talk) 13:34, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi Blue Rasberry , Thanks a lot for the comforting words . I did a mistake . But , it stems from the fact that I wanted more uncovered areas to be covered in wikipedia .When I search for something and I dont find it in wikipedia , I search it else where and try to bring it to wikipedia . Except that , no vandalism intended .:(Commons sibi (talk) 18:33, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Let me know if you need more help. Just follow the instructions above to be unblocked - you are most welcome here. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:14, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
There's really no point on copy and pasting information into Wikipedia, if you feel that it should be here, why not just take the time to re-word it? Gsingh (talk) 21:28, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi Gsingh , I normally add "data" , "statistics" which I reproduce in a as-it-is manner . I did not feel that it was wrong . True , subsequently , that mindset entered in me and gradually started reflecting in my edits . I realize it . Now taking the corrective measures . Commons sibi (talk) 10:23, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi Blue Rasberry , Yes , I am on to it .:)Commons sibi (talk) 10:25, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

unblocked

Okay. Given your acknowledgement above that you understand the requirements, I've unblocked you.

Please be very careful going forward. If copying happens again, any future blocks are likely to be permanent.

I have known many people who have gone on from this point with no further problems. I would recommend that as a general rule of thumb you don't copy from any source unless you make sure with somebody else that it is compatibly licensed or public domain first. This helps avoid accidents. Please remember that while you can copy small amounts, they have to be marked as quotations - we use quotation marks or block quotation for this. I would recommend that you not copy more than a few sentences from any source, and remember that these quotes have to be used for good reason. We can't create an article, for instance, by copying a few sentences from multiple sources. Most of the content in any article should be written by us.

Writing in your own words is sometimes a little tricky for people who are not trained to do this. There's a really good high level overview of quoting, summarizing and paraphrasing at Purdue college's website. See also their page on paraphrasing. We have our own guideline to help people avoid accidentally violating copyright policy by following a source too closely at Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing.

Especially as you start working in this way, you might find it a good idea to reach out to others to make sure that your summaries and paraphrases don't come to close. When I'm around, I'm happy to help with this. Maybe User:Bluerasberry can help with this, too.

Sometimes when you are unblocked you may find you can't edit. This happens when the IP you use is "autoblocked" for one reason or another. Let me know if you have any issues, and I'll try to get them worked out. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:36, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I am here Commons Sibi! This is good advice and please ask me if you need anything. Also if you are unsure you can always ask for opinions about your work at the WP:TEAHOUSE. Blue Rasberry (talk) 11:17, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
Thank you Moonriddengirl . I will be very cautious from now on . //Especially as you start working in this way, you might find it a good idea to reach out to others to make sure that your summaries and paraphrases don't come to close.// These words are comforting . --Commons sibi (talk) 11:25, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
Thank you Blue Rasberry . You were the first one who welcomed me with a cup of coffee.Every time I am in need of help you help me out . This time around , if not for those pat on back from you , would have felt very lonely . Yes , have taken that advice . Will start using WP:TEAHOUSE . --Commons sibi (talk) 11:30, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello Commons sibi. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Sarah Harrison(journalist)".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sarah Harrison(journalist)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. John from Idegon (talk) 06:09, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Cutest Penguin , I went through your talk page and contribution list . All the efforts which you have made are towards enriching Wikipedia . And the pace with which you have picked up stuffs is really awesome . But , it really takes little bit more time to understand stuffs , so I request that before reverting back an edit , kindly do a basic search of policies . And I have also raised an issue of personal attack here . Kindly refrain from making personal attacks like use of " ..but I don't think that right people have reviewed. .."--Commons sibi (talk) 09:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

@Commons sibi: thank you for your appreciation and I would try my best to contribute on wikipedia and that's by following its policies. CutestPenguin {talkcontribs} 17:21, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

Paraphrasing

Hi Commons sibi. Although there's been some improvement, your paraphrasing of sources still needs some work. Keep at it! Please have a look at the changes I made to your recent edits. My changes address copyright and formatting concerns, and also make the prose clearer and easier to understand. Here's the diffs of the changes I made:

Hi Diannaa , Thank you for the complement . I am trying my best to improve the paraphrasing . I am following closely all your changes . Hopefully , I would improve with time . Commons sibi (talk) 17:17, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for taking my comments in good spirit. Regards, -- Diannaa (talk) 17:19, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

IGNOU

Hi there, could you please explain in regard to your edit [2] of 18:57, 28 July 2013 to Indira Gandhi National Open University, where the figure of 4 million students came from? The cited source, [3] which was accessed in May 2011 still says "Over 3 million". An IP arbritraily changed it to "3.5 million", you have now changed it again, without providing a source to support that change. Additionally the infobox still said 3.5 million. Please explain? :-/ --220 of Borg 10:07, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
