Orphaned fair use image (Image:Diving_With_Dolphins.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Diving_With_Dolphins.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 06:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Minigames (Club Penguin), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. AfD nomination of The Penguin Times

An editor has nominated The Penguin Times, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Penguin Times and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Fair use disputed for Image:Arthurianlegends.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Arthurianlegends.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Twister: Ride it Out

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Twister: Ride it Out, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Twister: Ride it Out. Hello. Concerning your contribution, Animation hip hop, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://daniskool.blogspot.com/. As a copyright violation, Animation hip hop appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Animation hip hop has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Animation hip hop and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Animation hip hop with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Animation hip hop.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Scoreed (talk) 10:46, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Re:Club Penguin Articles

Your welcome :) Despite the fact that I failed, you can ask someone at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles and (hopefully) get the text back (if you prefer, I myself could ask an admin on that category; but I believe that it would be more convincing if you yourself ask, since you are the original author). If you happen to do this and you also happen to succeed, I would recomment that you copy and paste the text for those articles somewhere else (save them in Word or some other word processor at the computer you use or put them at the Club Penguin Wikia Wiki, or some other place on the internet in order to preserve the information) and then remove the text of the articles from your userpage, since users have been penalized before for keeping some articles on their userpages for long periods of time. Happy editing, TomasBat 20:34, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of Extreme Points

I have nominated List of Extreme Points, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Extreme Points. Better source request for File:Who_Are_You_Calling_a_Woolly_Mammoth_.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Who_Are_You_Calling_a_Woolly_Mammoth_.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 20:22, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Who_Are_You_Calling_a_Woolly_Mammoth_.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Who_Are_You_Calling_a_Woolly_Mammoth_.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rockfang (talk) 20:22, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Animation hip hop

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Animation hip hop, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non notable dance style

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Stormbay (talk) 15:42, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Blue Fringe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of I Love You, I'm Sorry, and I'll Never Do It Again

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

A tag has been placed on New Moon (1930 film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Orphaned non-free image (File:I love you.png)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:I love you.png. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

New Moon to userspace

I read your polite request at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion, and since see that the cause for deletion was copyright violation, and you already deleted part of the article and I trust that you will further edit it appropriately, I will restore the article to User:Coin945/New Moon (1930 film). When you feel the article is ready, let me know (if I'm active on Wikipedia), or turn to user:MichaelQSchmidt - tell him I sent you! — Sebastian 22:33, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

New Moon (1930 film)

This article was automatically listed for further copyright review at the copyright problems board. On investigation, it seems to me that your problem here is that you copied from one article to another, not from the site that was originally tagged. It says, "Description from Wikipedia". Investigation shows that the text came from here.

As Wikipedia:Splitand Help:Merge set out, when we duplicate material, we have to provide a direct link to the source article. This is necessary because Wikipedia's contributors do not release their material into public domain, but retain rights to authorship under the terms of our licenses, CC-By-SA and GFDL. This wikilink satisfies that requirement by allowing readers to access the history and see who contributed what and when. Usually, we put into the edit summary something along the lines of "Copied from Sourcearticle". Then, we note the reuse as well in an edit summary at the source article. That would read like "Material copied to destination article", in this case. This helps make sure that the article is not later deleted, as it cannot be as long as the article to which the material has been copied remains. We also have an optional template for the talk pages of both articles at {{Copied}} (instructions for using it found there). I have fixed the problems with this article, but I wanted to let you know for future use. If you have copied material from other articles, or if you do so in the future, please be sure to make proper note of that. Thanks, and if you have any questions about this, please feel free to leave a line at my talk page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:58, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem. That's what I do. :) The article would not have been deleted if those who had tagged it as a copyright violation had realized it was copied from another Wikipedia article. Those kinds of licensing issues are easy to fix. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:11, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
It's a standard notice. The article isn't likely to ever be deleted, but sometimes articles are deleted through deletion debates for one reason or another. The note is there in case this one is ever put up for deletion, because the administrator who investigates it must know that these two articles are linked. We can use text from that article as long as we have a full list of contributors to it. If we ever delete the first article, we'll lose that list, and then we'll be violating their copyright. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:18, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes, you are free to copy material from one Wikipedia article to another. All you have to do is, whenever you do that, make a note in the edit summary like above. And don't worry about asking questions! I'm happy to help with what I can. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:03, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Copyrights

Hi Coin945 - I was going through some older articles on New Page Patrol and came across the article you created on Smiling Irish Eyes. It seems like this article may have a copyright issue, as the text from the plot section is the same as this summary at the All Movie Guide, which has a copyright notice at the bottom of the page. For the moment, I have substituted a brief replacement summary, and have also removed the Trivia section, which seems to come from the IMDB site, which also has a copyright notice. However, I also noticed several other articles with text which appears to be the same as other copyrighted websites. I've brought this up at Wikipedia_talk:Copyright problems#Plot summary copyrights to try to clarify the question of copyright here. --Kateshortforbob talk 22:51, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of When Worlds Collide (2010 film)

The article When Worlds Collide (2010 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:NFF. No reliable reports that it has started filming, or even that a start date has been fixed

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hqb (talk) 15:45, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated When Worlds Collide (2010 film), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/When Worlds Collide (2010 film). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for creating the page for the film adaptation of Wicked (musical). Hello again Coin945 - I left you a message last week regarding copyright on Smiling Irish Eyes and others. I am concerned about some of the articles you have created by copying text from IMDB, All Movie Guide and other sites, which are explicitly marked with a copyright. Wikipedia cannot accept material like this unless it is released under a free license, which this material does not appear to be. As I said previously, I posted a query at Copyright problems in order to try to resolve this, but unfortunately, that page does not seem too busy at the moment. For these reasons, I am re-posting to the Administrator's Incidents noticeboard, where you are welcome to comment. --Kateshortforbob talk 19:28, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Perth Hebrew Congregation, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.theperthshule.asn.au/index.html http://www.theperthshule.asn.au/history.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Perth Hebrew Congregation saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:01, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Also blanked are Innocents of Paris, Follies (film), Wicked (2011 film), When Worlds Collide (2010 film), Shake, Rattle & Rock! (1956 film), The Dance of Life and Why Bring That Up?. Sources are identified on the template blanking the article. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:06, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
In addition to problems with copying without quotation marks, I see that you are also placing very long quotations into articles. For instance, you copied this entire summary: [1]. While I appreciate that you indicated your source, I'm afraid that this is still a copyright violation. Wikipedia can only use quotations in accordance with WP:NFC, which forbids extensive quotation. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:39, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
In addition to the articles listed above, I'm afraid I have had to remove your contributions from a good many articles and would expect that I may find problems in more. It seems that you have copied quite a lot of material from other web pages, including IMDb. This is a violation of our copyright policy. You must not copy text from other sources unless these can be verified to be free for use. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:34, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
I realise i have dug myself into a really big hole here, and i sincerly apologise. All it has ended up culminating in is dedicated people like you who probably have a lot more important things on your mind wasting your time, having to fix up all of the mess-ups ive created. If i can help in any way, please just contact me. I know it is a massive problem considering the copyright infringent involves a massive amount of articles and i am truly sorry for any inconvenience i have caused. I didnt to all this deliberetely just to cause frustration and law-suits. I am really sorry.--Coin945 (talk) 09:56, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi. As a "moving forward" step, just let me very clear that if you are not absolutely sure text is in public domain or licensed under CC-By-SA, you should not copy it into Wikipedia. United States law does not require a specific copyright notice, so the absence of one does not mean we can use the text. Anything else has to be rewritten and rewritten completely. Sometimes contributors run into problems when they first begin to work on rewrites by remaining too close to the original in structure and language. This can also result in a copyright violation, as copyright laws forbid close paraphrasing when it creates a "derivative work." If you aren't sure if you've rewritten something sufficiently, you are welcome to stop by my user page for an opinion (or, for that matter, for advice on how to do it to begin with).
At this point, I have drawn up a list of your major prose contributions, and I will be reviewing these. In accordance with Wikipedia:Copyright violations, under the circumstances any prose that you have contributed may be presumed to be in violation and removed. I try to verify some copying before removing text, but it is possible that if I identify some duplication, I may inadvertently remove something that isn't. For example, if you have copied a trivia section from IMDb but added a detail of your own, that detail may be removed along with the other material. I'm sorry if this should happen, but it's an unfortunate part of the clean-up process, which is a bit time-consuming even so. I believe that the plot sections and summaries in these articles have all been copied and am proceeding accordingly with that assumption. If I am wrong, material can be later restored. Again, though, please be sure that text is copyright clear before putting it back in any article. This is required of all contributors, but given your past history is rather more urgent now. I'm afraid that Wikipedia can't take chances with copyright.
One additional point, in placing external links, you should be careful to meet WP:LINKVIO, which forbids linking to sites that are themselves infringing copyright. I think what you should be particularly careful there to watch out for is sites that reproduce lyrics. Unless these are licensed by the copyright holder, it is not legal to publish these on the web, and our linking to them can also get us into trouble.
Meanwhile, you've certainly added a lot of material that isn't a copyright concern, particularly with cast lists and infoboxes. Even if the material in these was first published at IMDb, they are not copyrightable. That means we're free to use them. You can also include lists of songs and information about those (if not lyrics), such as composer and length.
Please let me know if you have any questions. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:27, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
I explained to you several months ago what you must do to copy material from one article to another. I see that you have again violated copyright by copying content of other contributors, duplicating text from here to here. While you may have contributed to the text as an IP editor at the source, your first edit to the article logged in was after the copying. You may copy material from other Wikipedia articles. If you do so without providing attribution, as set out at the copyright policy, however, you are infringing. This behavior may also lead to your account being blocked. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:34, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi,

I moved the article Sa'adiah Shoshani that you created to User:Coin945/Sa'adiah Shoshani. It is a barely readable machine translation, and Wikipedia consensus is that an unedited machine translation, left as a Wikipedia article, is worse than nothing (see Wikipedia:Translation).
