Cedar Creek Mine Ride
[edit]Is there a reason you reverted my revert on this article? Gemini has two lift hills. Stratosphere (U T) 18:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- I understand that its two separate tracks, but it is a single ride. It's not Gemini Blue and Gemini Red. The fact that Cedar Point themselves refers to it having two lifts also lends credence to my statement. Either way I'm not terribly concerned, but this might be something to bring up on the WP:ROCO talk to get further discussion. Stratosphere (U T) 23:14, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Re:Pointbuzz
[edit]I have sent a message to User:IronGargoyle, whom is a administrator here, asking for his help. My assessment of the issue is it falls in the gray area between simple vandalism and the Three-revert rule. I can tell you that the blocks for Anon. IP users usually don't last to long.--Coaster1983 (talk) 22:27, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have requested semi-protection for the page. It might be a good idea to get away from Wikipedia for awhile and then discuss the issue on the article's talk page later. Coaster1983 (talk) 17:03, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Cedar Point, IN
[edit]Hi -- You make a good point, because Cedar Point, Indiana, is quite insignificant. I just did a search on "Cedar Point", however, and found numerous other articles with that name in the title that could be mistakenly linked to the amusement park (and probably some already are). What I'll do is create a disambiguation page and place a link to it at the top of the Cedar Point article. This is standard practice for just about any popular name in Wikipedia. Cheers, --Ken Gallager (talk) 19:04, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Rain policy
[edit]If there are sources to be found, and the info can be written in an encyclopedic tone, I would have no problem with it. The anon editor is presenting some very specific facts that I doubt he knows with 100% certainty, and the phrase "it is wondered why" these rules are in place sounds like an individual with an axe to grind. Lambertman (talk) 17:36, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, that states those rules are generally followed. However, it's not exactly a trade secret, and I'm sure all parks have some sort of similar policy, so I don't really think it's notable for inclusion on this article - again, I'm leaning towards "axe to grind". About the NASCAR News...
[edit]Dario Franchitti was in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year in the Chip Ganassi Racing #40 car and tried to race. The story is relivant to NASCAR as he tried to race in the series before his injury and his team shutting down. This is the same team David Stemme was on before he lost his ride to Franchitti in the off season; hence it is important that every story is covered. If you want to make something of it, I suggest you seek out a moderator to settle this. NoseNuggets (talk) 6:28 PM US EDT Sept 3 2008.
- I do not want an edit war on these pages. All news in NASCAR is covered on a weekly basis within each week's race. That's a rule of thumb on these stories. If you continue to rvert to nonsensical edits that you think do not concern NASCAR or "silly season", then and only then will I report you to a moderator for vandalism. If you think that I'm joking, take a look at all the other race pages for 2008, we covered announcements on there of all driver changes and the closing of Chip Ganassi's #40 team where Dario Franchitti was employed before July 1st, and if that isn't relevant, start your own pages! NoseNuggets (talk) 7:57 PM US EDT Sept 3 2008
- And by the way, you do not have to put both the city and state, just "Richmond", and I added "The Commonwealth's capital city" outside the link like this: "((Richmond, Virginia|Richmond)), the Commonwealth's capital city" but bracketed. NoseNuggets (talk) 8:21 US EDT Sept 3, 2008.
Image
[edit]Please put it in the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 page instead. All 2008 race pages (save for the Daytona 500 or the Sprint All-Star Race) do not have logos; the same will be said for 2009. NoseNuggets (talk) 8:24 PM US EDT
I need to get someone blocked for continualy ignoring warnings
[edit]he uses both ip addresses 12.208.229.160 and 12.208.229.80 and he continualy vandalises the page for Elliott Sadler--Cmedinger (talk) 15:29, 26 September 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmedinger (talk • contribs)
- While I'm happy to answer questions, it looks like your question could have been answered and resolved more quickly if you had used my message wizard. It's linked as "Talk" after my name and at the top of my talk page. Why not try it next time?
- I have issued the user a warning for vandalism. If he continues to vandalise, use further warnings from WP:UTM or report him at WP:AIV. Stifle (talk) 15:31, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Copyright Problems board
[edit]Hi. With respect to your note at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2008 September 21, I wanted to let you know that this is not really the venue to discuss the matter. With respect to user behavior, you might want to seek help with that at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts. Repeated copyright infringements should be reported at WP:ANI, as any administrator can block an editor for those. However, they may feel that I do that there is no demonstrable urgent need at the moment, as there don't seem to have been any image issues there for over three months. Thanks for voicing your concerns, particularly on such an important question as copyright violation. Please do bring it up if you see that the problem persists. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:06, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
RFA
[edit]Hey there Cmedinger, I'm not sure if you intended to transclude a yet to be created rfa, but this diff shows you adding a nomination of yourself that hasn't been created yet. If you need help, please let me know how I can help you! Cheers, Keeper ǀ 76 20:32, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- I got your message. I'm glad to help. You'll notice first that Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Cmedinger is a redlink. If you want to apply for adminship, you need to make that a bluelink. You can get very useful advice at the nomination help page for how to nominate yourself for adminship. You seem to be a nice guy, and you've been here a while, but I want to give you some friendly advice. I've looked very briefly through your contributions, and you do a very nice job, but I honestly don't think you'll pass the "administrator test" just yet. I won't say never, because you have the right intentions, just not now. Don't be discouraged, just keep doing what you like to do on Wikipedia. The best way to pass through RFA successfully is to wait patiently for someone else to nominate you. Meanwhile, continue your good work, make the articles better articles, stay out of trouble, and soon enough, you'll get noticed! Happy editing, Keeper ǀ 76 20:53, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- The key is patience my friend, and don't be discouraged. Keeper ǀ 76 21:05, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Talk:Joey Logano thread
[edit]Talk pages are here to discuss the article, not for you to give you opinion on how this driver would be faster if... There's a warning template for it at Template:Uw-chat1, but I decided to talk with you instead because it's considered poor form to give a template warning to regular contributor. That comment attempting to start a forum needs to be deleted because others will pick up on it and start commenting back to you. Things go out of control from there. Your comment doesn't help improve the article at all. Royalbroil 16:25, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- Even if you were to find a source which made this statement, I don't see how it belongs in the article. It's definitely someone's opinion, controversial, and looking at WP:POV does not necessarily represent "the main scholars and specialists who have produced reliable sources on the issue". I'm not saying that I disagree with the statement, but it doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. It's fine for you to think it in your mind, considering adding it if you do find many reliable sources, but posting it on his talk page might rapidly lead to an out-of-hand discussion on the talk page. That is why I think it should be removed. It's fine for you to make a note on your userpage to remind yourself to watch for sources for the statement. Please review Wikipedia:TALK#How_to_use_article_talk_pages's Keep on topic bullet for the guideline. Cheers! Royalbroil 20:05, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Maverick & Other Cedar Point Article Revisions
[edit]Before making accusations of removing others pictures just to substitute with my own, you should check your facts as this is untrue. Specifically with the Maverick revision, all of the original pictures were kept, but moved to a gallery section where they are better suited where my pictures were also located. In fact, this is what you are doing by reversing perfectly acceptable edits so that your pictures are the only ones shown. A proper revision would be a restoration of my images, with your original images also included. A complete revert is completely unnecessary. (Coasterman1234 (talk) 03:19, 24 November 2008 (UTC))
- In the same respect, remember you do not have full authority over an article, and do not have the right to completely revert acceptable edits. If you felt there were too many pictures, then a revision with a removal of some pictures could have been done, rather than a full revert. You are not the only editor, nor the only photographer either. (Coasterman1234 (talk) 03:51, 24 November 2008 (UTC))
License tagging for Image:Brian_vickers.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Brian_vickers.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:48, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Twisthorseshoeroll.JPG
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Twisthorseshoeroll.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. WikiProject Amusement Parks Article Clean-Up
[edit]Recently, an issue has been brought up regarding the notability of many articles within WikiProject Amusement Parks. As a result, a page has been created regarding this issue as well as a possible solution (which will be on-going). In a nut-shell, certain articles will be picked to be reviewed in each stage and the WikiProject members (you) will decide if the article should be deleted or kept based on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
I hoping this will work and if it doesn't, oh well...I tried.
More info can be found on the linked page above.--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:27, 21 March 2014 (UTC) Sent by Dom497
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
