Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Amharic language. Wikipedia is not the Yellow pages. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. A tag has been placed on World mentoring academy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Gyrofrog (talk) 00:22, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

Hi: In response to your query on my talk page, the links you have been adding fall under #5: purely promotional. In addition, they are likely to fall under some of the others: limited accessibility or requiring particular software. The key thing is that we are an encyclopedia, not a link repository or a directory. We cannot possibly cover every educational resource available everywhere in the world. I see that you have previously added such links and had them reverted and talked to other editors about it, so I am pretty sure I am not telling you anything new. I also see that you have tried repeatedly to create an article on World Mentoring Academy; although you have so far been unsuccessful, that seems to me like a more appropriate avenue for you to pursue, although you will need to find sufficient reliable and independent sources to satisfy our notability requirement. But I'm afraid the facts that it exists and that it is educational in aim don't in themselves make it eligible for an article or for an external link. So I've reverted the link additions again - if you were the IP to whom I spoke earlier, you will have noted that someone else did the reverting then, just as other editors have reverted you in the past. You could try posting a query here, but I'm afraid it's clear to me that community consensus is against such links. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:46, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Since these links are usually deleted as being spam, and since this has been going on for several months, I asked for clarification over at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam#www.worldmentoringacademy.com_as_external_link_for_language_learning. We'll see what they say. Aristophanes68 (talk) 20:09, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Warning for adding spam links to a large number of articles, ranging from the Russian, Japanese, Shona and Kituba languages to swing dancing. As WP:Linkspam says: "Although the specific links may be allowed under some circumstances, repeatedly adding links will in most cases result in all of them being removed". @Thomas.W Non-commercial MOOC courses, only benefactor is someone trying to learn language at no cost. Every entry in Wikipedia promotes a idea, historical reference, in some case subjective view point, which is a Promotional activity by def. If you use the Promotional/Spam argument to silence anyone that you wish, it's no better than burning books & censorship with out support. I urge editors to do some research and verify statements and support their assertions with FACTS.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/World Mentoring Academy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

G11; the draft was declined five times at AfC for being promotional, but was then created directly in article space, where it has been speedied twice.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion".
