Re: 3RR
[edit]I am not just indiscriminately reverting your edits. I felt that they were incorrect, so I reverted them. I've got to go do something right now, I will explain further in a few minutes... Thingg⊕⊗ 16:20, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The reason I said that is the "official" logo because this is the logo I have seen being used in all the advertisements. While the image that I reverted to is not the same as this, it is on what is currently the only Sony website that is only related to Home. I am posting this on Talk: PlayStation Home as well. Thingg⊕⊗ 16:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Also, sorry about all the reverts. I'm not trying to destroy your contributions, it's just that, in my very humble opinion, the article(s) were better the way they were. Again, my apologies. Thingg⊕⊗ 16:46, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about. (insert long, boring, newbie story here) Also, if you want your edits to be there, by all means be bold and readd the stuff. I don't own any articles on Wikipedia and you have as much right (probably more ¬_¬) as I do to edit them. So yeah. Also, just kind of a FYI, the "talk" link in your sig links to your userpage. You might want change it ;) Regards. Thingg⊕⊗ 16:54, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- No, go ahead and add that stuff in. Thinking about it, I think I've become too "protective" about PlayStation 3 (I was instrumental in getting it to FA back in January) Sorry about the trouble. Thingg⊕⊗ 17:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

AFD
[edit]Thanks for the commentary on my talk page. It's always best to do this kind of thing here and not in the AFD, so it was probably my bad to even mention it there. I appreciate the discussion, and I hope that some minor disagreement over in AFD will be taken in the spirit it is intended, as a content/policy discussion. :) Anyhow, further to AFD etiquette, per Wikipedia:Afd#How to discuss an AfD, it's traditional when removing comments to add a strike-through rather than deleting altogether. (This can be done through your entire comments, not just the 'vote'.) This helps to maintain continuity in the discussions, and to make sure that replies aren't suddenly orphaned, leaving the person making the reply looking a little foolish, apparently replying to nothing. In this case I am happy for the comments to stay off as only you and I are involved, and it's all between friends, eh? :) Also, I had not meant to imply that you couldn't continue to comment, which you're of course perfectly entitled to do, including to get stuck into me if you feel the need - we all make mistakes after all! Cheers. Debate 木 07:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Cheers. I will try to remember to strike it next time (still learning here!). And of course, nothing personal with regards to our disagreements on the AfD. People disagree, that's the whole point of the AfD discussion! :) ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 07:29, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Citation in reception for PS3
[edit]Saw the citation needed tag up but before I could even get to work on it you already plugged in a ref within 10 minutes. I'm amazed :) Chan Yin Keen | UTC 13:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Barnstar
[edit]The PlayStation Star | ||
For all the hard work you've done in improving PlayStation-related articles, I hereby award you this barnstar. Awesome job! Thingg⊕⊗ 16:33, 12 July 2008 (UTC) |
You really do deserve this. Keep up the good work! btw, I commented on your proposal on Talk:PlayStation 3 Trophies. Thingg⊕⊗ 16:33, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Re: List of PS3 games
[edit]"Now the same needs to be done to the tables on List of PlayStation Network games so that they match!!" NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
heh. obviously I'm joking. Nah, I did it all manually. (2 1/2 hour edits FTW!!!) It was a pain, but someone had to do it. I'll do the other list as well. Thingg⊕⊗ 15:06, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Why did you remove the "Etymology" section? Was it just an accident? Pince Nez (talk) 12:38, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. It's all very confusing: It was originally removed by someone else (as part of a fairly large edit that removed other things as well). I then partially reverted that edit with the intention of putting the valid information back in. As the Etymology section didn't appear to use proper markup and seemed to have some other syntax errors in I left it out with the intention of adding it again afterwards after I had fixed it up. Obviously I forgot! Sorry. There were a lot of edits happening at the time and it was a bit frantic. Obviously, feel free to put it back in. Thanks for assuming good faith. :) ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 13:11, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I figured it was done in good faith, judging by the quality of your other edits! And yes, obviously the article is in a bit of a state of flux at the moment!! Thanks for keeping an eye on it! Pince Nez (talk) 13:14, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
What's the problem, according to WP:EL, with the link Panoramic photographs of Bristol?
Andy Dingley (talk) 18:01, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Links like that one are usually discouraged to avoid an article acquiring a large collection of links which is not allowed under WP:NOTLINK (sorry, should of probably linked to that one in the summary as well). If links like that are included, it gives precedent for more links to be added and, well, you can see where I'm going! And as none of them is more or less notable than another, it is better just to have none. Sorry, I should have probably been more specific in my edit summary. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 18:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, so you're just going to flat-out ignore my comments. Fair enough. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 19:06, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Playstation 3 article
[edit]Hi, sorry that i keep changing the word playstation one to playstation on the PS3 comparison table on the ps3 arcticle, I only did this because the playstation one is a smaller version of the playstation itself but I won't edit it anymore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by John-joe123 (talk • contribs) 20:00, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
WhatIfGaming
[edit]Hello there. Complete coincidence - I had Braid on my watchlist, and was just checking to see if the editor had been inserting the same URL into any other articles. --McGeddon (talk) 12:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Burnout Paradise 720p/1080i
[edit]Just wondering about whether Burnout Paradise actually is rendered in 720p, then upscaled to 1080i. Regardless of how this is done, 720p would still be considered the native resolution - it doesn't have to be the OS as you said in your edit summary, Halo 3 and GTA IV both have a similar system (rendered at a lower res than 720p, but are upscaled by the game to it). This link seems to imply it is upscaled from 720p too. I think it should stay as 720p anyway. Fin©™ 09:54, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I would have thought that as it is upscaled in-game (not by the OS which I believe is the case with some games), the game supports that resolution and it is therefore "native". For lack of a better example, it's not like games like PixelJunk Eden who's native resolution is 1080p, but the PS3 scales it down for TV that don't support it. Ofcourse, I may be completely wrong! Either way, it should be in the article (whether it be in the infobox or not) as it is notable, particularly (as Criterion say on their site) to users with older TVs that don't support 720p. Do you agree? ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 10:49, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Nah, I think native is the resolution it's rendered at, this can be upscaled by the game or by the OS. It seems to be if this is lower than 720p (Halo, GTA, CoD 4, Haze - in all games the native res is lower than 720), the game upscales it to 720, where the OS takes over and does what it wants (eg, scaling to 1080p). Likewise, I imagine Burnout is rendered at 720p, but then the game upscales it to 1080i, which is the res the OS sees (I assume the XMB can't scale to 1080i? I know the 360 can). I could be wrong though... It's certainly notable for inclusion alright, Criterion did make a fuss over it, but I don't think it should be under native res in the infobox. Fin©™ 11:18, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- You're probably right. That seems to be the way it's done on other articles. Not sure I agree with it though. I think the resolution a game is rendered at is irrelevant to most people. It's the signal that goes to their TV which I'm sure most people are concerned with. But that's not a discussion for my talk page! :) Regards, ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 12:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Cool stuff, sure you can always bring it up on WPT:VG =) Thanks! Fin©™ 13:14, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Buzz PS3
[edit]The Buzz PS3 thing was a hang over from its development days, before it had a proper name the gaming press referred to it as Buzz PS3, in the same way that Master Quiz was referred to as Buzz PSP. - X201 (talk) 13:52, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't post the above because I disagreed with its removal. I was just explaining why it was their in the first place. You can dump it if you want. - X201 (talk) 14:22, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. LittleBigPlanet mentions it's working title so I don't see why Buzz shouldn't. Thanks for the info. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 14:29, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
