Information icon Hi Chastizement! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Normans that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wild Adventures, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Adolf Hitler (Namibian politician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adolf Uunona. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello, Chastizement,
The way to overcome an AFD delete decision is to submit your draft to AFC reviewers in order to get approval. One problem with that route is that there is already a draft on this subject at Draft:Adolf Hitler Uunona.
An alternative is to go to Wikipedia:Deletion review and argue that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adolf Uunona was closed incorrectly. That will be a challenge as I don't see any problem with its closure.
If you have questions about Wikipedia's deletion policies, I would recommend bringing them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can offer you advice and support. Liz Read! Talk! 06:30, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cosmetic edits

[edit]

Just fyi that this edit doesn't make any difference in how the page displays in read mode. Making such edits is somewhat discouraged because it doesn't make any difference to our readers but does clutter editors' watchlist. (t · c) buidhe 05:46, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. This is a neutral notice; Raven-14 is the editor who has brought up a concern. Raven-14 (talk) 17:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chastizement is not involved in the content-dispute between us, but rather a separate dispute, which now seems to have been settled. Keep in mind that recruiting unrelated people to disputes like these is a form of canvassing, which is not allowed! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 19:21, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
