Disambiguation link notification for July 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited El Corte Inglés, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages San Fernando, Castellón and Arroyomolinos. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Editing The Convent of Pleasure
[edit]Hello Chagropango, I just wanted to let you know that I've undone some of your edits at The Convent of Pleasure. I appreciate your work on the page to address its unencyclopedic tone, but your edits in the "marriage" section introduced some inaccurate paraphrases of the sources. The unencyclopedic parts, to my eye, were in the subsequent "cross-dressing" section, which was unencyclopedic because it had too much direct quotation. When talking about interpretations, it's important to consult the underlying sources before changing how something is said. It's the sort of thing that gets easier with practice, so I hope you will keep working on improving Wikipedia! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 05:18, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello L,
- Thanks for your advice, but I think it would have been more appropriate to delete my edits if they are inaccurate than to revert them, because the previous content was very inappropriate for Wikipedia. I will try to check the source material before making such edits in the future though. Chagropango (talk) 07:23, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Chagropango, I'm not sure what you mean, because I didn't revert your edit (e.g., simply undo your changes to restore a previous version). I used the older version as a reference while doing a new rewrite of the themes section, which included restoring some of the original phrasing but also writing new material and reorganizing the content. I just wanted to let you know why I made so many changes to your wording in case you wanted to revisit the article. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 23:19, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the clarification. I initially understood that you just reverted it entirely. Chagropango (talk) 09:02, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Restoring poorly-sourced biographical material
[edit]Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:34, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
