Hello CeeGee, I've just declined your speedy and tuned 2010 World University Boxing Championship into a redirect to the page; I believe that the former is the correct name; however, I'm not sure. Thanks for your contributions. I notice you've added a few on amateur boxers, but they don't seem to meet notability guidelines under WP:NSPORT#Boxing. For amateur events, bronze medals don't seem to be enough. Have any of them received substantial coverage from WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable sources? Not always. If it were clear that the topic is irrelevant with some categories, we can (maybe we must) remove them. But the Special Organization's relation with the Armenian Genocide and the Greek ... (I personally think that the term "Greek genocide" is not common.) is mentioned in articles Armenian Genocide, Greek genocide. In this case, we must not remove those categories. I have seen that you have edited my sisters (Sevgi Sabanci) bio page. I am having a little problem with mine (Murat Sabanci) I recently created the page, I have been living in England and USA for a long time and trying to keep myself away from the media as much as I can. My bio just marked for deletion by a Wikipedia editor (Bgwhite) for having no reliable source.

The first Turkish one looks to be ok for a reference. Unfortunately, it doesn't go into detail about Mr Sabanci, therefore it can't be used to establish notability on Wikipedia. The second link, en.rodovid.org, is a user generated wiki. The other two links say the information is from Wikipedia. A user generated wiki or Wikipedia are not considered reliable sources because anyone can edit. WP:SOURCES as some information on what makes a reliable source. It takes 10 days for the proposed deletion to run its course, so there is time to come up with some sources. In order for an article about a living person to be on Wikipedia, generally, it has to meet WP:GNG. If there are no sources, then there is no page. Unfortunately, any information that you provide about yourself is not deemed independent, thus not amissable. This is not to say you are not notable in the real world, just not on Wikipedia. I think journalist and businesspeople have the hardest trouble with these requirements. Journalists write alot, but not to many get written about. Businesspeople get written about, but it is usually only in the context of the company... You see news stories about the companies that have quotes or mention company officials, but not many stories about the businesspeople themselves. Bgwhite (talk) 08:32, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Abdi İpekçi Street → Avenue

While streets called "avenue" are usually broad streets, especially in the U.S., not all streets called "avenue" are necessarily broad. Originally just meaning "access road", one of its meanings is "thoroughfare", which corresponds to how cadde is used in Turkey. Istanbul was not designed for car traffic, and unfortunately some major thoroughfares are now uncomfortable narrow, but, narrow and one-way as it is, Abdi İpekçi Caddesi is a thoroughfare. In any case, I think it is better to translate cadde uniformly for a variety of reasons, including the existence of streets whose names are differentiated by sokak versus cadde (e.g., Abdi İpekçi Sokak as a side street of Bağdat Caddesi in Fenerbahçe, and another one in İçerenköy). I also notice that Şişli Belediyesi uses "Abdi Ipekci Avenue" in English texts,[1] as does Hürriyet Daily News.[2]  --Lambiam 10:35, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
