Proposed deletion of Driton Krasniqi

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Driton Krasniqi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Notability of Ilirjan Mertiraj

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ilirjan Mertiraj, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ilirjan Mertiraj seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ilirjan Mertiraj, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Your Contributions

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions but could you expand the articles a little to avoid speedy deletion tags being placed on them thanks and happy editing.BigDuncTalk 17:26, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with BigDunc. Please add context to your articles. At least 20 of your articles had been tagged as {{db-nocontent}}. I've rescued them but in the future, an admin might accidentally delete these no-content articles without knowing that information can be easily added. Examples of how you can add information to your articles are at Tamás Lapsánszki and Viktor Valentényi. Also consider added sources to your articles as well. This ensures that the article will be verifiable. Thanks, Cunard (talk) 01:51, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Footballer articles

[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you have created many new articles about Hungarian footballers. I appreciate your efforts to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Hungarian football, but would like to give you some advice. If you create a new article about a footballer, please make sure he has played in a fully professional league (I am sure that the NBII does not meet this standard, and NBI probably doesn't either) or for the senior national football team. Also, please add references (using websites such as www.national-football-teams.com or www.hlsz.hu) which show that the player has met these criteria. You may want to look at the changes I made to Ferenc Szilveszter for an example. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 16:36, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DEFAULTSORT and accented characters

[edit]

Because of English language tradition and weakness of the Wikipedia software, we have this important guideline:

  • Punctuation, such as apostrophes and colons (but not hyphens) should be removed, and accented letters and ligatures should be replaced by their unaccented or separated counterparts.

Hungarian players born/played in Yugoslavia/Serbia.

[edit]

Hi Canysp. I see you know much about Hungarian leagues. I wanted to ask you something. Since I´m interested in finding Hungarian players that have played in Serbia or Yugoslavia, I´m having much trouble going through Serbian websites becouse they rarely say the nationality of the players and if it is Hungarian, they automatically, sometimes wrongly, assume that is a Vojvodina Hungarian, so anyway, they allways treat Hungarian players as national. I made two lists: List of foreign football players in Serbia covers top leagues, and List of foreign players in Serbian lower leagues. I am following one criterium that preatty much follows the next logic: Serbians who were born in surronding countries and didn´t played for other countries selections, and if played as Serbs in other countries are not foreign in Serbia, so ; Hungarians that were born in Serbia, and played as Hungarians in other countries I consider Hungarians. Can you help me find more? Or advice me some websites? Cheers FkpCascais (talk) 01:12, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx. I´ll search throu those websites. Feel free to add players to my list. I find out that you made the Attila Andruskó page, that´s how I finded you. Whatever and whenever you need help, ask me. We will keep in touch. FkpCascais (talk) 22:08, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I improved the Attila Andruskó text. Chek it out. Some words were wrongly written, but I understand what you wanted to say. If you don´t like it you can allways revert it (put it back as you write it) or edit it again. I see that many articles that you wrote were deleted, so I put the text in a more "Wiki" way. FkpCascais (talk) 22:41, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well keep in touch. I´m on hollyday until 1 August, so I may not be here (in Wikipedia) every day until then. The best websites that I know are listed as external sources in my List. Have fun. (FkpCascais)

I see that you created this category and later blanked the page. A faster way to delete a category you've created yourself is to place {{db-author}} on the page. This tag attracts the attention of an administrator who can perform the deletion for you. Contact me if you have questions about this. Ottó Handler

[edit]

Hello and thank you for your message. The reason why I proposed this article for deletion is because it is about a young football player who has not had any significant achievment. He is not notable enough for an article in Wikipedia. However, if you believe the article should be kept, please delete the lines I added at the top of the article. Best regards. I have nominated Hungarian National Championship I 2009–2010 (Detailed), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hungarian National Championship I 2009–2010 (Detailed). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 11:41, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't do anything but propose it for deletion (which is the standard procedure, by the way), but it seems as if the article will be gone soon anyways. If you want to set up a new article, please do so by creating a sandbox in your own userspace and putting any content in there first. It is less likely to have an article deleted this way, plus you can ask more experienced contributors from Wikipedia:WikiProject Football for help. As for your DVSC season article, not bad for a first try. Take a look on similar articles like Arsenal F.C. season 2009–10 if you want to fine-tune it. Your contributed article, Gábor Horváth (footballer born 1983)

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Gábor Horváth (footballer born 1983). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Gábor Horváth (footballer). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Gábor Horváth (footballer) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. A tag has been placed on Attila Gyagya requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AfD nomination of Dávid Kelemen

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Dávid Kelemen. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dávid Kelemen. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Francisco Gallardo - Categories

[edit]

Hi there CANYSP, VASCO from Portugal here,

please leave the categories in the order in which they are now OK. The order is: 1 - personal categories; 2 - player position; 3 - clubs and division in his country; 4 - the other clubs abroad the player represented, if any; 4 - international categories (under-21, full national team, World Cup or UEFA Euro appearances); 5 - and finally, the expatriate categories. If a player becomes a manager, then we have the manager categories.

Please leave it be, happy editing - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:22, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bertold Popovics has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Norayr Abrahamyan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:27, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Christian Banovits

[edit]

The article Christian Banovits has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article has no references

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AlanS (talk) 09:57, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bálint Böröczky has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Ádám Pintér (footballer, born 2001), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Hello, Canysp. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ádám Pintér".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hungarian second division seasons

[edit]

Hi Canysp, I've noticed that you are the creator of a lot of league season articles such as 2019–20 Budafoki MTE season and 2020–21 Békéscsaba 1912 Előre season. I appreciate the work put into these articles but, sadly, a lot of them don't seem to demonstrate WP:GNG; in particular the sources do not show WP:SIGCOV "Significant coverage" addresses the topic directly and in detail, so that no original research is needed to extract the content. Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material. Since you are likely more familiar with Hungarian news sources, do you think there is potential for the articles to have well-sourced prose so that they then meet GNG? Kind regards Spiderone 13:26, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 1998–99 Debreceni VSC season, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ways to improve 2005–06 Ferencvárosi TC season

[edit]

Hello, Canysp,

Thank you for creating 2005–06 Ferencvárosi TC season.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Majority of the references here are match reports with subscriber commentary, blog comments. These do not pass for reliable sources, for notability.
This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the article may not be suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

András Hársfalvi moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, András Hársfalvi, is not suitable as written to remain published. ~StyyxTalk? 19:40, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

With all the nomination messages on your talk, I think by now you must have realized that footballers are no longer automatically notable just because they've played in a top level league, right? Or no? If you're still going to create them back to back in quick succession, at least put in the effort to have them sourced with actual sources, not just databases. ~StyyxTalk? 19:47, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
