Information icon Hello, I'm Dl2000. I noticed that you recently removed content from K. N. Pandita without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. SPAs in Deletion Discussions

[edit]

I saw you struck your comments on a couple if discussions on advice from Liz. Thanks for that. For note, however, there is a neutral way to bring the attention of the discussion closer to the fact that a Single Purpose Account is contributing to a discussion. Have a read of Wikipedia:Single-purpose account. You can use the subst per the instructions there when, as here, a new user comes in and starts !voting on deletion discussions without having any other other edits. Just something to bear in mind in the future. Take care, and happy editing. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:16, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sirfurboy Thank you for sharing this important tutorial on SPA. At the moment, I find myself overwhelmed by the multitude of Wikipedia rules. I believe I require some time to process and internalize them. CGGCA201 (talk) 08:00, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, we all do. But don't worry, new editors in good faith are given plenty of latitude as they become acquainted with the rules and guidelines. Good to see you here. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 08:11, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dahoru. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Adani Group have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Also requesting to explain, which policy has been violated Dahoru (talk) 05:11, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Including earnings reports in the lede is not relevant. Refer WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Charlie (talk) 05:36, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@User:CharlieMehta Thank you for responding. I have thoroughly reviewed the policy and believe that the information I provided meets the criteria for encyclopedic value. The policy says, In order to ensure encyclopedic value, it is important to provide data in context with explanations that are referenced to independent sources. I have taken utmost care to incorporate this requirement into the content I provided. Additionally, I have included the relevant references to support the information presented. Considering the above, I kindly request you to clarifying why you believe the content violates the policy? Dahoru (talk) 06:02, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, after waiting for your reply I have reverted your edits. I have cited sources that establish the policy as per WP:INDISCRIMINATE. If you think the edit is not constructive you can start discussion here Talk:Adani Group. Requesting to not revert the edit again without any proper explanation. Thank You. Dahoru (talk) 16:40, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dahoru I have previously addressed your concern, citing the relevant rule. To delve deeper into this matter, kindly navigate to your talk page, where you can provide a response at your convenience. Charlie (talk) 18:03, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@User:CharlieMehta Thanks for your response, I will request you to understand what Wikipedia actually is. It's not just about updating negative things on the page, what exactly you are doing. It's a platform that strives to provide neutral and unbiased information to its readers. So, before you jump to conclusions and make changes, please take a moment to grasp this concept. It is not a tool for personal biases or agendas. However, I must remind you that Wikipedia is not controlled by any single individual or biased perspective. So, If you have any issues or concerns with the content, I kindly request that you discuss them on the talk page. It's always better to have a discussion and consider other editors' points of view. Dahoru (talk) 18:37, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! This material is very poorly written, nearly useless, and borderline unintelligible. Consensus is for this hot garbage to not be included – especially not within the lede (MOS trumps you). If you want it in: you'll need to hammer it out on article Talk. Further attempts to shoehorn it without consensus after PP was lifted will be reported swiftly(-ish) to AIV; so you better really hammer it out first… Good luck, and Happy Trails! -- dsprc [talk] 12:02, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

[edit]

Hello, CharlieMehta,

This is a request to please change your signature that you used to sign your messages or AFD reports. Right now, both your User page and talk page show up as green links. This means that you have directed editors to a Redirect page rather than your actual User pages. I'm not sure why you are doing this unless you have changed your username recently but it would be better to just have a regular signature that includes your username and direct links, especially to your User talk page. You can access your Signature options through your Preferences. Thank you for seeing to this. Liz Read! Talk! 04:31, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, do you have any connection to editor DJ InstaMalik? They are a new editor who has commented on all of your AFDs which is highly unusual. If they are an alternative account of yours, please declare this on your User page and do not have them editing to support your position in deletion discussions. Without a disclosure, this could look an awful lot like sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry if they are an associate of yours. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 04:56, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz Thank you for informing me about the signature issue. I have corrected it following your instructions. Also, I want to clarify that I have no affiliation with DJ InstaMalik. However, it appears that this account is attempting to comment on all the AfDs I've recently nominated. Interestingly, on one specific page, the same account copied text from Bajaj Finance's page, which I had contributed, and pasted it onto Sanjiv Bajaj, the founder's page. I have already reversed the changes in good faith. Charlie (talk) 07:40, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Turning Point: The Bomb And The Cold War moved to draftspace - Self Notification

[edit]

An article which I have recently created, Turning Point: The Bomb And The Cold War, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved my own draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where I can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When I feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, I will move it back or submit it for a review. Charlie (talk) 05:48, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Turning Point The Bomb And The Cold War.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi CharlieMehta, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 22:27, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Just Step Sideways Thank you for approving autopatroller rights. I have just set up the Rater and StubSorter scripts. Let me take some time to familiarize myself with them, and then I will definitely consider applying for the NPP. Charlie (talk) 05:24, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hi CharlieMehta, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! – Joe (talk) 06:31, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You should probably consider slowing down in your speedy tagging. For example, WP:G5 does not apply just because a page was created by a blocked user. I've removed two G5 tags of yours.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:38, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Slowing down. Let me go back and check the recent G5 tagged articles I marked, review them, and remove the tag. Thank you for the advice. Sorry, I got a bit carried away. Charlie (talk) 16:50, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arab Bank Maroc Article

[edit]

Hi CharlieMehta,

I noticed that you moved my article, "Arab Bank Maroc," to Draft:Arab Bank Maroc. Could you please explain the reasons for this action? I would like to understand any issues with the article so that I can address them effectively. Thank you for your guidance and assistance. Best regards, Adil Faouzi (talk) 11:59, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adil, please ensure that the page meets the WP:NCORP, WP:ORGCRIT guidelines and includes at least three references according to WP:RSP. You can refer to few bank pages and use them as standard templates - Arab Bank , Bank Al-Maghrib etc. Charlie (talk) 16:58, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Charlie, I hope you are doing well. I suggest using the MoveToDraft tool whenever you need to draftify articles. It will automate the process for you, including notifying the creator with the specific reason behind the draftification, which was not done when you moved this article. GrabUp - Talk 03:32, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Grabup I am doing well, thank you. I hope you are doing great too! I just installed the MoveToDraft tool like you suggested. Thanks for the tip and for helping me out. Lately, I goofed up with the NPP review. I am taking a step back and seeking some assistance to learn. If I find it to be too overwhelming, I am going to surrender my NPP rights and get back to basic editing. Charlie (talk) 04:47, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply and I am also doing well. Your NPP reviews seem good, but your CSDs, especially G5, are problematic. I suggest you continue reviewing but learn more about CSDs before tagging. GrabUp - Talk 05:12, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on declined draft article

[edit]

I want to thank you for reviewing my draft, it had been pending for a while.

You declined my submission for this draft stating a copyright issue. However, the contents of the page you mentioned are licensed under GODL which is accepted as a copyright free license on Wikipedia.

Some additional questions:
1. How did you arrive at the % overlap figure?
2. How do I become a reviewer of drafts that other people have created? Skratata69 (talk) 18:05, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Skratata69 Thanks to you for creating this draft. From what I understand, it's okay to use GODL for images and diagrams on Wikimedia Commons. For text, it needs to be free of copyright from wherever it comes from. I might be wrong, so I suggest you ask about this at WT:AFC. Answers to additional questions; If you want to check your draft for copyright overlap, please use this tool: https://copyvios.toolforge.org/ and to become an reviewer of drafts, visit: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/Participants. Charlie (talk) 01:09, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Skratata69, you do not qualify to become a reviewer. You do not have a sufficient number of edits. I suspect you're not qualified for other reasons as well, but no need to go into that.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:38, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, was just asking since there seems to be a huge backlog Skratata69 (talk) 04:32, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will ask a question there Skratata69 (talk) 04:35, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

When you find a copyvio

[edit]

Please delete that material, and ask for a CV-revdel.

When reviewing and declining as a copyvio but not flagging the entire draft for deletion, the decline box has a big red banner. This means we, the declining reviewers, have work to do before we move on. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:38, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will make this work my top priority this weekend. Charlie (talk) 17:34, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In case this is about my draft, please don't delete my draft yet. I worked hard on it and there isn't a clear copyright vio (yet) Skratata69 (talk) 18:01, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't worry, I will not get your draft deleted. However, it does need some trimming to conclude my review. Charlie (talk) 18:33, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Skratata69 It was a general comment to guide Charlie for the future in case they were unaware. I'm sure they were. loads to know al at once when entering a new area.
Charlie - the AFC decline parameter "cv" shoudl go to 'cv-cleaned" once you have done whatever you need and requested cv-revdel.
Good to meet you. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:59, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If it helps, I've just looked at the CV report]. It appears to me that the words copied are technical terms which cannot be rewritten without altering the meaning. While not exactly a false positive I think this may well not be a copyvio. You may disagree. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:10, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Timtrent Nice to meet you. I revised the page and lowered the plagiarism percentage from 33% to 18%. I also added a "further reading" section at Draft:Sovereign_Gold_Bond. Since the draft was rejected again, should I request a CV-revdel? Charlie (talk) 02:43, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I almost never take the percentage as a guide. I use the CV detector tool and examine what the duplicated words are. Looking at this draft I can see that most are strings of words that cannot reasonably be changed. Actual names for things trigger the detector, and these are, in the main, actual names for things.
What I would do is to look at your previous decline, and change the cv parameter to cv-cleaned, and treat it then as "job done", because I cannot see anything to delete/hide. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 06:39, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I should rephrase that. I use the percentage to tell me it is worth my effort to redact. >50% is likely to be worthwhile, <50% less likely. <40% unlikely 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:25, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Xoak Thanks. Charlie (talk) 09:38, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I've moved this to Draft:Nahid Islam. It would appear to be a controversial topic and needs an independent review. Could you please work on it there? It may need to be protected. Deb (talk) 08:40, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Deb Hi Deb, I just saw your message. I have also been noticing that the page has been losing its neutrality and drifting away from its original purpose. I appreciate you moving it to draft, but it has been moved back to the mainspace through AfC. Should I move it back to draft, or would you prefer to handle it and add a move restriction? Charlie (talk) 15:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll do it. Deb (talk) 17:04, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Nahid Islam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Morning Context reverted to draft

[edit]

Hi @CharlieMehta, the page I created for The Morning Context was put back into drafts for better sourcing, lack of neutral language, and better structuring. I'd like to understand the issue(s) better so I can improve the article and can use the information for future ones I write. Thanks! SageRoot29 (talk) 12:18, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SageRoot29 Thank you for making the draft and showing that you're willing to work on it. To improve it further, use trustworthy and reliable sources, like well-known publications and independent references. Make sure the language is neutral and objective, avoiding any promotional tone, and keep the descriptions balanced and based on facts. Also, follow a clear structure typically used in Wikipedia articles, refer WP:MOS, to present the information logically and coherently. Charlie (talk) 04:10, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your permission "patroller" (New page reviewers) will expire on 2024-09-11 00:00:00. Rose Betts page

[edit]

Hello @CharlieMehta - thank you for looking over the Rose Betts page that I have been working on. You left a 'citations needed' tag, which I didn't understand at first, but now realise was a prompt to see if there are any other reliable sources, to strengthen the case for notability. I have now found several new sources - including two independent UK 'BBC' sources, and hope that this will help resolve any uncertainty. Thank you Chaiten1 (talk) 18:26, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Chaiten1 I put the tag due to my ongoing NPP school training, where Rose Betts' page has been chosen as part of the assignment. I apologise for not putting an appropriate edit summary. Charlie (talk) 06:56, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all, thank you! Chaiten1 (talk) 06:59, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding personal attacks

[edit]

Your accusation of being an alleged paid editor may be taken up at appropriate forums as per policies. Your comment. Also understand that AfD pages are not meant to have discussions that don't belong there. You're welcome to discuss any of my actions that may have not been in line with the policies of Wikipedia.

Also understand and learn to assume good faith. Thewikizoomer (talk) 17:40, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be trying to discuss about me being a paid editor on Afd page here. As said earlier, understand that AfD pages are not a place for that and the accusation although false, maybe taken up at appropriate forum. Thewikizoomer (talk) 17:42, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Thewikizoomer This is not meant as a personal attack. If it came across that way, I am sorry for it. However, your edit history is fully accessible. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you approach things more constructively and with a clear mind. Charlie (talk) 04:13, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I have over 5000 edits on Wikipedia, I have created and edited lots of articles, all this, because I like improving articles, I like editing on Wikipedia. Just because you didn't like some of the edits of mine, you can't simply call me a undisclosed paid editor.
Also I have proposed merger of many PSUs too for ex. DFCCIL, ent. articles: Jabardast and lot more.
I have edited IndiGo, Akasa, DPDPA-2023, Power Grid, Vijayawada Airport, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam Railway station, Vijayawada railway station, governors in India, Odisha, NIFT, US presidential election 2024, so did they all pay me or something. Don't accuse someone of being a paid editor unless ypu have a solid evidence of such activity. I edit random pages because I like wikipedia editing and not because I'm paid or anything.
My edit history speaks for myself, I follow policies, be civil and assume good faith. Hence it felt like a personal attack. Thewikizoomer (talk) 08:14, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also regarding the NTPC merger, after recent merger of NIFT articles, I decided to nominate NTPC stations for merging. Because even POWER GRID has lots of substations, but every station is notable, so it's done as part of my daily random editing and nothing else. Note that I'm active in prodding and AFDing articles which don't meet the criteria and I'm still new here when compared to more regular users here, so I'm learning just like you. Thewikizoomer (talk) 08:17, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Power stations and sub-stations are two different things all together. Anyway, thanks for dropping in and wishing you all the best. Charlie (talk) 10:24, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 16:10, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your Deletion Proposal

[edit]

Hey,

You've created this.

Thank you, that's what I asked for; that if a translated topic is deleted, then at least there's a consensus about that.

BTW, can I also vote? IdanST (talk) 07:16, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@IdanST You are welcome, dear. Certainly, you can vote. Please provide individual citations regarding the IWI Galil Sniper. All that's needed is substantial evidence explaining how the sniper rifle differs from the main gun. Charlie (talk) 07:21, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
