Shane, I noticed that you wrote

in Misfitoy's RfA. I'm assuming you meant "per nom." Could you possibly clarify your comment?

Sorry for nitpicking =D. alphaChimp laudare 23:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Heh. Now I'm even more confused. Did you nominate him? I totally missed that. (Once, again, sorry for nitpicking =D).alphaChimp laudare 23:42, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Batman Begins sequel

I apologize for any mistakes I might have made in trying to make sure that the right links point to The Dark Knight. I think that the problem should be solved now, and I reverted "The Dark Knight" back... so I might've reverted your re-revert? Change anything necessary. Thanks. --Erik 03:15, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing the issue with relocating the Batman sequel article. However, I was wondering how one should address this new situation. Yesterday, Talk:The Dark Knight (film) redirected to Talk:The Dark Knight, since that is where the edit history is (left behind from the mess of moving around, I assume). Someone recently copied/pasted the current edit of Talk:The Dark Knight to Talk:The Dark Knight (film) and removed the redirect. This leaves behind the edit history in Talk:The Dark Knight. Is there a way to move a talk page's history from one place to another? --Erik 18:28, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Wait, tough crowd about what? You mean the guys editing the article? If so, I know what you mean.RoryS89 01:34, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, she has a baby after all. Allegedly.RoryS89 02:19, 13 August 2006 (UTC)RoryS89
It is kind of weird how Batman is the only hero who doesn't have a recurring love interest. Except maybe Selina Kyle, but she's a villain at the same time. I mean, you've got Superman and Lois Lane, Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, Hulk and Betty Ross, Daredevil and Elektra, and so on. But no main love interest for Batman. I guess it shows that Batman's goal of protecting Gotham doesn't leave him time to fall in love.RoryS89 02:41, 13 August 2006 (UTC)RoryS89

Random Comment re Font Size

Could you possibly make the text on your userpage a *wee* bit bigger? It was really interesting to read, but a little hard to see.

Thanks. That change really makes a big difference. I tried to revert that vandal, btw, but you beat me to the punch by something like .5 seconds. alphaChimp laudare 04:49, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

BSG UBX

Hey Shane, what do you think of my minor change to the ubx, do you think the text is better as "BSG" or as a quote? I thought it would be better to use "So say we all" then just "BSG" (heh)! Matthew Fenton (Talk | Contribs) 12:07, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Your Wdefcon Template

I love it! Great work on making it. However, Level 1 (Red) currently reads "Serve". Shouldn't that be "Severe"? Otherwise, it is easily the best-looking WDC there is in my opinion! Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 06:10, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

For making what is, in my opinion, the best-looking Wdefcon template of them all, I award you this da Vinci Barnstar. Putting classes on film articles

Just a small note... please use the "Future" class next time instead of the "Stub" or any other class when categorizing a film article for a film that hasn't been released yet - thanks. :) Esn 01:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Requested Scripts

I was wondering if you could find some way to create two scripts for WikiProject Films.

  1. An addition the our template ({{Film}}) that would automatically assess articles as stub if they use a stub template (similar to those used by WP Biography and WP Songs) but only if they do not have a previous rating.
  2. A tag that would add a Category:English-language films if it stated English in the {{Infobox film}} next to Language.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, you can reply on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films or on my talk page. Cbrown1023 20:00, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

FBI

Good to see you still editing some. Looks like you are busy in real life. I haven't much a chance to work on the FBI article, lately. Among other things, I've been busy monitoring and working on 9/11-related pages. But, have picked up several books about the FBI, by Richard Gid Powers, Ronald Kessler, Athan G. Theoharis, and others at used book shops. The FBI is a tricky topic to write about, because there are so many facets to cover and NPOV issues always come up, but will still give it a try to further improve the article and its referencing. --Aude (talk) 18:37, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Shane. I'm just wondering if you are still interested in admin coaching. If you are, I can try to set you up with a coach. Cheers! --Fang Aili talk 19:17, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Collapsible sections?

Hi Shane, we had a talk with Nehrams about the unresolved problem of long/short film plots. Some people want to be able to find an extended plot for a film, but others argue that one shouldn't have to go through too much. So one idea was that we have a Plot summary in the article and we create separate pages for the Extended plot. But we were told such standalone plots aren't allowed. So I had another idea, but I don't know if it's possible. Do you see any way of hiding a section and offering some button which if pressed makes it display? Like this we could hide the long version and offer a "click here for extended plot". Hoverfish Talk 22:48, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Update: In the meanwhile, User:PhantomS showed me how it's done with CSS and we are on our way to propsing it as the long awaited solution. So, thanks for your attention anyway and wish you all the best for 2007. Hoverfish Talk 13:41, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

New Template Proposal

I just wanted to know if you have started the formatting for the new stub to start template from here. Is it possible for it to be formatted to fit in the {{Film}} template when only the stub class is selected? Also if this does work, would we have to copy it into all stub articles or would it automatically be added to the stub class articles? --Nehrams2020 08:09, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Shane, knowing that you are on tight schedual, we passed the template problem Nehrams mentioned to another tech-wiz, so please, don't worry about it. Surely work and real life have priority. Our new idea is to start a board for tech problems in WP Films where any tech-fellow with free time can pick a task. Cheers! Hoverfish Talk 07:36, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Pearle Bot

I'm using it on de.wiki (Mediawiki 1.10alpha). The main problem was with the edit token:

-       $reply =~ m/value="(\w+)" name="wpEditToken"/;

Another problem is that it moves DEFAULTSORT and the Link FA template to the wrong place. I don't have a fix for Link FA yet. --08-15 23:02, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

GAC backlog elimination drive

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:21, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages.
