I noticed you created a lot of articles about US regiments, including on the modern 58th Infantry Regiment. Could I interest you in creating the article on the Civil War 58th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 17:19, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you point me to what was deleted, perhaps I could help. I hate it when good content is removed :( If you decide to work on the NY units, I'd love to help. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 18:44, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Was this ever discussed on Wikipedia? I am familiar with some Wikipedia copyright experts, and if what you say is correct, and they were not involved, it might have been a bot/inexperienced editor mistake. I agree with you that US government documents (federal) are usually not copyrighted, and I'd love to help quash the people who claim fake copyright (I hate such profiteers, too). And Wikipedia is indeed a very good place for such information (although some documents may be better of on Wikisource). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 20:00, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have reported the issue of potentially improper copyvio deletions to the experts I know. I expect they'll be replying soon. You may want to monitor User_talk:Moonriddengirl#Wronged_editor_.28unfairly_accused_of_copyvio.29.3F. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 21:37, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

69th Infantry Regiment

[edit]

Blanking a large page, references and all is unacceptable. I don't know the reasoning, but such an extreme change can't be made without community consensus. If you want to make big changes you should start a discussion on the talk page of this article. INeverCry 17:57, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • pay attention, the page wasent blanked it it was reverted. read the talk page.

Please mind your language. An edit summary like this is not up to local standards for civility. Favonian (talk) 18:20, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I appoligize but my frustration at seeing months of research, and transcription undone by people who cant be bothered to read is reaching its peak.

  • evedently I will have to stop, everytime i add somthing a certain hate america first communist deletes it, on the flimsy excuse that "its somewhere else on the internet". really? then I guess wikipedia is perty pointless. Brian in denver (talk) 19:04, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Please feel free to discuss on this talkpage, on RightCowLeftCoast's, or on mine. The material is very valid and useful, but according to my reading of Wikipedia's rules, the community consensus is that it should be on Wikimedia Commons. Have you considered doing your work there, where other language speakers can access it more easily? Buckshot06 (talk) 22:34, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Amphibian cargo Jeep trailer.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Amphibian cargo Jeep trailer.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Your userpage

[edit]

Hi Brian in denver. I noticed your userpage may not be in compliance with Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Users are generally given a little bit of freedom to personalize their userpages to a certain degree, but userpages which too closely resemble articles are at risk of being deleted per WP:U5 or via WP:MfD. So, it might be a good idea to move the page to the article namespace if the draft is ready to for article status, or to either the draft namespace or a user subpage if you still want to work on it. Wikipedia's userrspace is not intended be a free web host for hosting content indefinitely and userpages which do not comply with relevant guidelines do get deleted by administrators. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:17, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that there already exists 69th Infantry Regiment (United States), so perhaps you were using your userpage to work on improvements to that article. If that't the case, then you can just copy-and-paste it into your user sandbox. Content in user sandboxes are pretty much left alone by other editors unless there is something that is a serious policy violation which needs attention. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:51, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment

[edit]

Hello,

I saw that you edited the Wikipedia Article titled “55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment.” I was hoping you might be able to help me determine if that is the unit my great-grandfather served in during WWI. He had an artillery shell customized by an artisan while in France. I can send you pictures if you would like. Inscribed on it is: “Hqrs 55th Brigade F.A. 30 Division.” I imagine “30 Division” refers to the “Old Hickory” division, but the only information I can turn up about “55th Brigade F.A.” in WWI is your article. Do you know if the 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment would have once been referred to as the 55th Field Artillery Brigade? Is there anyway of confirming if this unit fell under the 30th Infantry Division that was mobilized in France during WWI? I appreciate anytime you might spare to verifying this information. You can email me at maxrobro@gmail.com if you prefer.

Kind regards,
