GAC Three Crowns
I have properly downloaded, sourced and used the GAC Three Crowns.png that your bot keeps deleting, and yet your bot keeps deleting it. Please ensure that your bot ceases and desists from deleting my image. And yes, I have included the{{Nobots}} code on that page. Nickersonl (talk) 18:20, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Papua New Guinea badge
I specifically left the original image up until it had been verified for color and pattern. Tagging for deletion is one thing, but leave replacement of images up to those actually concerned with the use of those images. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 23:13, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
McCain's signature
I see that you based your deletion of Image:John_McCain_signature.jpg from Template:McCainInfobox on WP:NFCC#9, which states that non-free content is allowed only in articles, not templates. Template:McCainInfobox is, admittedly, a template, but it is used only for one article, John McCain. I just created it to make the layout of that article work better. I fail to see how this is any different than having it in the article directly. Do you object if I restore it? Coemgenus 01:01, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
BJbot Notifying anons
Hi. I suggest that notifying anons about AFDs is rather pointless, especially if signficant time (more than a few days) has elapsed. Chances are, it's not the same person reading the warning that edited the article. We don't give anons a watchlist for this same reason. --Rob (talk) 02:36, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Someday (Chris Cuevas and Debbie Gibson song)
I concur your Proposal for Deletion, as this Song did not sell enough copies as a single (Atlantic Japan/Warner-Pioneer AMDY-5059) to warrant listing on the Chris Cuevas entry at All Music Guide, p=amg&sql=11:w9frxqq5ldse~T0, /cg/amg.dll at AllMusic.com. Why this Song was considered for inclusion under Category:Debbie Gibson songs is a mystery not solved to my satisfaction (Reference: Wikipedia:Notability (music)). In Deborah Gibson discography, I originally listed this song under Other Artists, as Gibson was not the primary artist; likewise under "Other Singles" on Template:Deborah Gibson. If this Proposal for Deletion fails to land an Answer showing cause, why Someday (Chris Cuevas and Debbie Gibson song) should be kept, my vote will be Delete per WP:MUSIC. B. C. Metacafe logo
Hi,
I work for Metacafe and I'm the creator of the Metacafe logo, yet the rights for it are Metacafe's, as this was work for hire.
Since the logo associated with the Metacafe article was a low-quality approximation, I wanted to replace it, by uploading the official version. I have permission from Metacafe to do so - yet Metacafe wishes the logo still remains copyrighted.
Please advise me on how to fill in the copyright information in a manner that is appropriate – I looked throughout the information, but I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dubonlolo (talk • contribs) 21:38, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Inaccurate bot message?
Hello, I recently received a message regarding an orphaned image that I supposedly uploaded, from your bot User:BJBot. I believe this message is inaccurate, as the image tagged is not orphaned. It is in use in the article Visual Basic. Please make your checks and let me know if you what your findings are! Thank you. --dionyziz (talk) 13:29, 14 March 2008 (UTC).
Interwiki sort order
Hello, just a hint: I've noticed that in your clean up of QSL, you sorted the interlanguage links by the two letter code. For this, see here and here – before your edit, the links were ordered based on the local names of the languages, e.g. Español (es) preceeded Esperanto (eo). (I did'nt knew this before, too...) --Cyfal (talk) 00:34, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Anonymous (group)
An editor has nominated Anonymous (group), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anonymous (group) (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:59, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Why bot why?
Can you give me a hint why you think that Payola (band) should be deleted? I would like to improve the article, and would find it useful to know exactly why you think it should be deleted as it stands. Cheers, --Dan|(talk) 11:24, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Amateur radio
Heh, not a problem. However, you removed the "Cited" and "General" headers again. In my mind, these are needed specifically for the names of their titles...cited references are specifically referred to in the article body, whereas general references are not. No, they are not required since the cited ones refer back to the article body, but it does help in differentiating. If you have questions regarding citations, feel free to let me know. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 22:01, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
BJBot
Hi, I got dropped a message by your bot about an article for deletion on which your bot felt I "have worked or that you created". My only contributions to the article were after the article was nominated for deletion when I saw the nomination and thought that I could improve the article to avoid its deletion. Would it be possible to alter the bots program so it only drops the message on the talk pages of those who edited before the article was nominated for deletion. Those who edit after the nomination don't need to have the message and it could be an irritant to someone trying to improve an article up for deletion. Davewild (talk) 15:23, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Zobel article
Why have you taken the red links out of the Zobel article? I am in the process of writing a series of articles on image designed circuits. Taking out the red links is just making work for me to have to revisit the article later. If I put the links in as I write the article I know it is done. If I have to go back I have to remember every link that was supposed to be in every article. Please stop doing it. SpinningSpark 18:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion by bot
Hey, Your bot nominated one of my articles for deletion. I made this article about a year ago, when I was a young 'un. What I didn't see then, I see now, and I agree with the nomination for deletion. Should I mention this in the discussion page relevant to the article (Epidermic menace), or is there a way I can delete it myself? What action should I take? Thank you. Bobber0001 (talk) 18:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC) Edit: I realize now that the article has already been deleted. So nevermind, I guess. Pat your bot gently on the shoulder and give him a cookie. WP:IMG is kicking back up with a big project for June
You listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Image Monitoring Group. A new project is being planned for June 2008 called "Wikipedia Image Cleanup Month" and we could use your help. Check out the talk page at WT:IMG and see the goals and to-dos we need help with (which you can help decide in this early stage). We would love your help and this positive effort should increase and educate Wikipedia about images which will have long lasting effects. MECU≈talk 14:09, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Open source newsletter bot
I'd certainly be happy on principle if there existed an open source newsletter bot. I'm not going to personally need a newsletter bot for any wiki anytime soon, though, so you shouldn't do it just on my behalf. And by the way, your "how hard can it be?" link had me browsing Top Gear-related articles for a good half an hour -- it sounds like a fascinating show. :) rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 06:43, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

a question about bjbot
I put the below suggestion on BjBot's talk page, but it got ignored.
- If it is possible, you may want to have your bot check to see if there are certain tags already on an image before tagging it as orphaned. Edits like this seem kinda redundant.

GAN Amateur radio
Hi there. I did a good article review on this on April 11, at which time I put the article on hold. At the moment, it looks like it may be a little while before the concerns I laid out will be addressed, so I'm inclined to close this as an unsuccessful nomination. However, this was my very first GAN review, and I don't want to be unfair. If you'd like, I can instead list the article for a second opinion. I'm writing you because you were the nominator. If I don't hear anything either way, I'll close it at the end of the week. I'll be available to give the article an expedited new review when it's ready, just drop me a note. Take care, Xymmax (talk) 18:43, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
University Logo
Hi, at Template:User_Lancaster_University you removed the use of the logo (as used on the universities Wikipage). This is the most relevant image possible for this template. Could you please explain (a) why it can nto be used here, though it can be for the article (b) if permission is needed how can I get and use that permission? (can I e-mail the relevant person at the university and ask for permission for usage in the template? If they explicitly agree, what then?) Thanks. Template without a logo makes it a poor cousin of the other universities there. Oboler (talk) 07:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- No non-free image can be used outside the article namespace, that includes templates that are only used in articles. See WP:NFCC#9. As for permission, Wikipedia rules consider non-free images used "with permission" still non-free as they are not free for everybody to use. BJTalk 07:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Why are you removing the image from the Atheist templates? — NuclearVacuum 01:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

mediawiki lies
Under Uno (game)#Action cards you can clearly see Image:Uno Skip card.jpg and Image:Uno Draw 2 card.jpg are clearly used (click on them for yourself) but their respective image page does not list Uno (game) as using the image. And your bot flagged it as orphaned when it's clearly not. Cburnett (talk) 23:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

- Well, from what I was told by the devs it is just a backlog of the job queue. So the bot (or one of the 4 others that does the task) should remove the tag after MW catches up. BJTalk 17:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

- Fair enough... I just don't want images to be deleted because of a bug. (Well, really I would like many of these images deleted... we use "fair use" too much, but would rather the community reject them rather than have them deleted because of a MediaWiki database error.) :-) Thanks! --Ali'i 17:26, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Francesco Cilea's photo
You removed the photo from Template:Cilea operas even actually the photo was taken from Francesco Cilea's article. Care to explain? If the photo is not allowed, you should have removed it from the article too - a.k.a the photo shouldnt be there in a first place. But since the photo is allowed in the article, it should be allowed in other Wiki pages or templates. I hate edit warring, for that I am awaiting your reply before I undid it. - I guess so that I don't leave you in a terribly depressed state.... I've been a cross wiki project admin for maybe 18 months now but not much activity here. I did a fair bit of work on the Meta blacklist & found - at the time - the local one had quite a bit of work & few folk doing it so I went for it on the basis I could help out (& did). There are now rather more folk dealing with it (though I still do some) but (when not on Commons which is my home wiki I guess) I tend to watch link placement across wikis.
- I've always been a bit puzzled about the fuss with RfAs here - most places you do some work & show you are trusted & the community is happy. I always love the "it's no big deal" and then promptly making a big deal out of it - I tend to stay away from the hotspots & just do what I can.
- As to you - you look pretty sound - 10K~ edits, no blocks, plenty of grunt work, surely you would get through? --Herby talk thyme 10:46, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Depressed? No, I'm content as is, well, deleting would come in handy for image work but that's all. RfAs here are indeed silly, too many hoops people have to go through and then the second people get +sysop they start acting human again. Last time I checked my reasons for not passing RfA are: not enough content building (not even a GA :(), I've made a few "uncivil" remarks here and there, I'm sure I've improperly CSD tagged a few pages and a few I'm missing. WHY?
Why did you remove the Great American Bash 2008 poster from my page? I placed it there because I didn't want it to become orphaned because I was going to place it back on The Great American Bash (2008) article after Night of Champions 2008, if there is no new poster released by the WWE.--WillC 04:17, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Non-free images can't be used in the user space and they can't be orphaned. So I'd just put it in the article for now. BJTalk 04:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey. This probably sounds really stupid but im going to ask anyhow. you say that running the bot in one go would save resources, but how?? The ammount of pages edited is going to be exactly the same, so wouldn't the ammount of resources that are used be exactly the same, no matter how long it takes? If anything wouldn't it be more effective to do it slowly over a few days, so that resources aren't hit that hard in one big shot, (i dont think its going to have a large impact of resources any how). I'm new to this stuff so if my quesions do sound stupid i do appologise,. Cheers Printer222 (talk) 00:26, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- If you do a run tagging all the image, then do a run adding the stub parameter you edit more pages. BJTalk 00:36, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, i misunderstood you, i thought you were objecting to my proposal of running the program daily untill all the pages were taged and were suggesting that i just run it non-stop untill they were all done. I really don't know how long it will take for the program to tag 6600 pages, so it might be able to be done in one shot anyhow.
I totally agree with your opinon then, Im still trying to work out why its assessing non-stub articles as stub. Ive tried many different things but still can't find a soloution. It really does make sense to wait untill i can sought out the problem before i start (based on your oppinon). Thanks for your help. Printer222 (talk) 00:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Charlotteflag.png)
Bjweeks, thanks for the notification. However, there seems to be some error in Wikipedia. The image is used on the Charlotte, North Carolina article, but oddly it doesn't list it as an article on the image's page. I'm not sure what the issue is but I thought I would let you know so you can review. I'll take a look at the FairUse and add the appropriate rational, but the image is not orphaned. Thanks, Morphh (talk) 13:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

beta software
okay, so using the tag beta was probably a bad idea, but the description is somewhat accurate in that its under development and may change, and since I'm somewhat lacking in wikipedia know how, I was wondering if you knew of a better tag that would describe it......Noian (talk) 21:02, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- It just doesn't need a tag. See: Wine (software), Django (web framework), et al. The tag doesn't serve the purpose of saying "hey, you can't use this yet but it'll be out soon" so it isn't needed. BJTalk 21:17, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Safari on Leopard.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Safari on Leopard.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:24, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Do I need to create a statment which outlines my intention which is to document all of china golf courses because I believe this contribute to golf knowlegede particularly a developing country like China? Hi BJ Week about my user page
You don't even give time for me to tag hangon before you delete it. BTW, I don't understand why you said that it is an advertisemnt, i just copied the template made by the wikigolf group anyway. Please tell how much mess we have made so that I can improve? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Golf In China (talk • contribs) 07:19, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Concerning this edit: Is there some reason you removed it from the template with the edit summary "rm deleted image" while the logs clearly say it hasn't yet?[2] IIRC, it was posted on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images/2008 June 9#Image:La_county_flag.gif where I myself made a comment about it wondering about the image's source. If you were the closing admin, please remember to follow through all the steps in the closing of a deletion discussion: either delete the image or revert your edit on the template. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:11, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops, forgot about that. I removed it from the template and was waiting for the file links to update so I could remove it from the rest of the articles. Still doesn't seem to have updated. :/ BJTalk 05:13, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for helping me clean up the mess Golf in China made. It is good to see you putting your new syop tools to good use and validating my support statement on your RFA. Keep up the good work.--Finalnight (talk) 07:10, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of reposted category
I noticed you declined the speedy delete of Category:Australia's Next Top Model and suggested I emptied the category first. Well, using my ability to edit fully-protected pages, what I'll do instead is list it at WP:CFD/W where a bot will empty the category. I would have done that first of all (and it's what I've done in the past when someone else has listed a reposted category) but thought I'd run it past another pair of eyes rather than execute my own speedy delete view. I don't see why editors should be expected to empty a recreated category before putting it up for deletion, whether there's 500 articles in the category or 5. Regards, BencherliteTalk 07:26, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
The category doesn't seem to have ever been cleared in the first place. I was under the impression it was proper procedure to clear the category before deleting (which should have been done at CFW?). Should I have instead deleted and listed at CFD/W? Sorry for any mistakes, still learning.BJTalk 07:37, 26 June 2008 (UTC)- I got an answer. And deleted. BJTalk 07:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- (ec with you!) Yes, it was emptied and then last December: see e.g. this and this for the history. Categories listed at WP:CFD/W will be emptied by bots and then deleted either by a bot on an admin account or by hand by an admin. Less work for us! No problems - I don't think you made a mistake, just pointing out a better way of doing things. (On that note, I didn't realise your mop was so new - congratulations!) Categories are an odd kettle of fish, but quite fun - pop on over to WP:CFD from time to time if you're bored as there's often a backlog of discussions to close. Regards, BencherliteTalk 07:44, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, you might as well leave it undeleted until it's been emptied by a bot as the bots may not empty a category that's already been deleted. Why not practice using that "undelete" power of yours?! BencherliteTalk 07:45, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, undeleted as well. BJTalk 07:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
congrats!
Bjweeks,
I'm pleased to report that some bits have been reorganized in San Francisco such that you can now cause all manner of harm on the English Wikipedia. My sincerest congratulations.
