[edit]Hi, I saw that you made an edit to Shroud of Turin. Could I talk you into doing more clean up on the Science section? My goal is to get the "junk tags" removed from the top after clean up. I can even suggest a 10% salary increase if you would help... just kidding. But your help will be really appreciated. Cheers. History2007 (talk) 21:19, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Valery Meladze
[edit]I have nominated Valery Meladze, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Valery Meladze. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Guy (Help!) 18:45, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Not inviting debates and reverts
[edit]Hi, First let me say thanks for your help on the shroud article. I wanted to tell you my opinion about how things sometimes turn into unnecessary debates in Wikipedia. It is a matter of tone more than anything. As an example, I know for sure that some people like D'Adamo but some think he is in a minority. If we position his ideas as "true" some day, someone who has just had 3 beers, starts reading the page, and says "that is nonsense" and not only deletes that but starts to view the entire page as biased and starts to rip apart even the parts that are balanced. Just yesterday, an angry IP started to type on the page that Max Frie was not accused on faking pollen samples, etc. And he made a mess of the paragraph. I changed that to read just slightly differently, so another IP will not come over and start the same debate.
I think we must remember that this is the MOST controversial artifact in history. Next month several thousand people will buy Joe Nickell's book. A few will read it, get all worked up, and if the ideas of Nickell are criticized too hard in the article those of them who have had one drink too many will start an unnecessary mess. So I will appreciate your help in remembering the tone of the sentences, just as the shroud is about to get displayed and people from both sides of the table will start to get emotional. Cheers. History2007 (talk) 23:48, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi there; noticed your edits to today's TFA; thanks for pitching in. Just one thing I should mention: per the above guideline, we should avoid linking terms whose meaning can be understood by most English readers; arguably, "voyeuristic" and "exhibitionist" fall into that category. (Plus, in this case, the terms appear within a quotation; links in quotes are generally frowned upon too.) Thanks again, Steve T • C 20:42, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think these relevant adjectives are "plain English words" per WP:MOSLINK. But thanks for dropping your stance anyway. Brand[t] 20:50, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]See if you would like to comment the merge of this article. --Hittit (talk) 20:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Greetings referring to your comment, the article Genocide of Ottoman Turks and Muslims was nominated for deletion by a group of editors, almost immediately, as the article was created. The AfD outcome did not support deletion and the same people immediately voted among them selves to remove it from Wikipedia main space by placing a merge tag the on the same day of the AfD result I renamed the article to Persecution of Ottoman Muslims and Turks 1821-1922 due to admin proposal and as a matter of courtesy for those who what issues with the article name. You are vey much welcome to participate in improving the article Persecution of Ottoman Muslims and Turks 1821-1922, however first we need to seek the removal of the merge tag. Your discussion at the article talk page is valuable, thank you. --Hittit (talk) 03:38, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Interesting if you know
[edit]Are you aware, that jumping into editing after a block was lifted from an article is count to be a pure pattern of edit-warring and tendentious editing? If not, then mind this for your own good in the future. Aregakn (talk) 10:09, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- There is no such a policy, see WP:BOLD and WP:IAR instead. Brandmeister[t] 14:13, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- Don't see me for a fool. Read the WP:DE again, because it was the second time you did it and it may be the last time. Let this be more official now. And you better not make the articles battlegrounds aymore and go to talk-pages. You seem to be a very experienced editor for me to be playing with you as if you are a newb. - The good faith in you is totally compromised with your conspiracy with many others leave alone the current conduct of yours on en.wiki. Now let this be an official warning, that the way you involved at least in several AA2 articles is a tendentious editing. It is on your discretion to read or not WP:TD to see since when engagement in edit warring right after unblock is tendentious editing.

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 19:06, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

- The account (here on enwiki) almost certainly was hijacked, so he claimed at Russian Wikipedia too [1], where he connected this with an Armenian IP address. Note that Brandmeister is one of the users who were involved in the so-called Azerbaijani mailing list of Russian Wikipedia users, a list that was hacked some time ago. So not really surprising. File permission problem with File:CathBaku.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:CathBaku.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Fair use rationale for File:Koenigsegg CC - 1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Koenigsegg CC - 1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 15:18, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Maxim Gorkiy.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Maxim Gorkiy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:53, 28 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 22:53, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

File:Israfil.jpg needs authorship information
[edit]The media file you uploaded as File:Israfil.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.
It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.
Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).
- If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:
{{subst:usernameexpand|Brandmeister (old)}}
will produce an appropriate expansion,
or use the {{own}} template.
- If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ivan Petrov.JPG
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Ivan Petrov.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Sex and Pornography Day
[edit]A tag has been placed on Sex and Pornography Day, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. SpyroSpeedruns (talk) 01:37, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
The article Sex and Pornography Day has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable event.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. The article Alexander Zhmodikov has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Harrias talk 08:38, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Sie12.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Sie12.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Speedy deletion nomination of International Firefighters' Day
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on International Firefighters' Day requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from samoaglobalnews.com/today-in-history-4-may-1999-celebration-of-international-firefighters-day. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 10mmsocket (talk) 16:17, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
