Proposed deletion of Ubi Dwyer
[edit]The article Ubi Dwyer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Person with no real evidence of notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 01:38, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of London Free School, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://en.ekopedia.org/London_Free_School.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. ekopedia entry
[edit]http://en.ekopedia.org/London_Free_School is an entry I made some months back on another wiki site at a time when I was not ready to raise the article to wikipedia standards. Earlier today I came across it in a web search and have tried to add a few references and sort out some links, but it is a work in progress. If it is not public domain (as I intended when created) then it is not copyright as I have not created it as such (I use the same name on other wiki sites - hopefully this can be checked).
The London Free School is an important piece of history, but I may not have the skills to make this article survive wikipedian scrutiny - perhaps a way could be found that crude article writers (like myself) have some time to find help with meeting standards before deletion. BorisAndDoris (talk) 22:00, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
The article Nicholas Albery has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. roleplayer 23:35, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page Category:Counterculture Festivals. Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.
If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process. — Jeff G. ツ 17:26, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Username legality
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, BorisAndDoris, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it it appears to be an account for more than one person. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. — Jeff G. ツ 17:30, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
BorisAndDoris is a name related to fictional characters who supposedly "organised" free festivals in the UK during the '80s - the unknown authors of that ruse faced a similar problem to the development of wikipedia - as the society around them became more rule-bound they found more imaginative ways to keep the original spirit alive - there is an assumption here that two people are using the same account and therefore the user can be banned on the basis that innocence has not been proven, rather than innocent until proven guilty - a large number of editors have become concerned with controlling others and I believe it is killing the spirit of "the encyclopaedia that anyone can edit" - contributors of information new to wikipedia used to be encouraged - rather than being deterred by dealing with pedantic application of rules. I am a single user - the use of no gaps in the name indicated it was a moniker rather than two people - if the problem persists, then maybe the problem is with a rule that has not been considered properly or has been applied too rigorously. London Wikimedia Fundraiser
[edit]Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.
Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 18:07, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Darcus Howe
[edit]Thanks for [1]; sources are clearly disagreeing as to whether it was a policeman or a barrister. It's puzzling, as Howe's own statements as reported in the Guardian and Independent are at variance with the statement at the time in Race Today, whose editor he was. Could we discuss this further on the article talk page? Cheers, --JN466 20:40, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Arts lab logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Arts lab logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. So... did I?
[edit]Hi Boris/Doris... at Talk:Greta Thunberg, did I do an adequate job cleaning up the chaos I created when I floated preliminary "what if" about merger in the middle of the WDHT discussion? I moved my own first comment to where others disucssed it, and gave that combination a heading apart from the WDHT discussion. I think that was yours or Robbies idea in the first place. Anything else I can do to clean that up? NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 11:46, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- NewsAndEventsGuy I have reverted Talk:Greta Thunberg back to before my intervention, in which I only intended to clarify that discussion had taken place with no intent of changing the meaning or context, but realise now that I did change the nature of the discussion by inserting a title of my own choosing and inadvertantly emphasised what had not been before. Apologies for any problems I have caused, I am hoping this does not interfere with the constructive dialogue I feel we have established over various Talk pages. Day o fweek
[edit]An IP raised on the talk page the interesting observation that our article title, and the scope defined in the first lead paragraph, explicitly say skipping class (or equivalent). Because of this, its an interesting question whether student actions after the end of the school day or on a holiday or weekend qualify for being added to the article. WHile this discussion is underway it does seem a bit WP:POINTY to add "day of week" to the table and I am glad you reverted. But I would be grateful for some of your brain power on how to deal with the larger substantive issue presented by the IP's criticism. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 15:18, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- @NewsAndEventsGuy: Thanks for your heads up on this. I was having computer problems at the time of reversion and still can't work out how I had to revert myself. I am suspicious of IPs who know how to work WP and with their one day history try influence change - as school strikes become more effective there may be many more attempts to control the wikipedia page. I'm glad that we can work together on this. BorisAndDoris (talk) 19:21, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
