Hi there- I'm a little concerned that, with some of the articles for which you are claiming, your contributions were pretty minimal. There is, of course, no ban on collaborative work- in fact, we encourage it. However, in order to claim points, you must have contributed significantly to the article in question- do you honestly feel that your contribution has been "significant" to each of these articles? J Milburn (talk) 11:05, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- I certainly don't think you're acting in bad faith, here, and it's obvious that you're contributing to worthwhile topics. The definition of "significant" is left hazy- merely wikifying or copyediting is normally not enough. Am I right in believing that you have actually added content and/or a few sources to each of the articles for which you've claimed? J Milburn (talk) 11:18, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. The article The Wreck of the Mauna Loa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non notable episode, lacks sources, IMDb and TV.com are not reliable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JJ98 (Talk) 01:50, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Possible GA reassessment
Hi, I notice you have started some Good article reassessments recently; I do not have much experience in this capacity but it came to my attention that FK Partizan, which passed GA yesterday, may not meet 1a and 2b (and possibly 4 due to translated quotes from another language) of the Good article criteria. I've put a template on the article requesting a copyedit, but if you believe this warrants a reassessment, please go ahead. Thanks, C679 08:02, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

A question on DYK nominations
Hi Bonkers, if a DYK nomination fails, and on the day that it is reviewed, the article is already 5 days old, then can we still do an ALT1, even if it is not reviewed on the 6th day? ✉ Arctic Kangaroo ✎ 04:28, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yep. Plastingia naga has not failed, that's a f word. Usually noms can take as long as a week or so or as short as a day to be reviewed. Just Watchlist it and go on to create other stuff. When it's done, it's done. :) ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 04:31, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

- Let me reiterate, don't worry. You probably haven't had that much experience in DYK. It will be reviewed, that I can assure you. I just can't tell you when. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 06:44, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- But isn't it DYK policy that the noms have to be articles 5 days old or younger? And you enjoying yourself in Osaka (?)? Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 06:52, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- It is a bit impossible for all current noms to be reviewed in five days. Policy states that articles when nommed should not be older than five days (from creation date or expansion start date). Nothing states that they must be reviewed by five days. The oldest nom now (I think) is a few months old. I think it is one of my works about some winemaker. And yes, it is fun, if only the wifi were stronger and the raining spells stop. I'm now in Kobe (took a ferry from Osaka). ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 06:56, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Request
Hi Bonkers, I'm not sure if you know that there is an article on the haze that we (but not you) are experiencing. Is it OK if I ask you not to create a DYK for that first? I have a few reasons.
1) I don't think the article is long enough yet.
2) I'm not sure how the haze will progress, and how high the PSI will go yet, so playing by ear.
3) You have done so many already. Please give me some credit.
Thanks. --Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 07:53, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Regarding the DYK nom, I will see how it goes tomorrow morning, and perhaps over the next few days. Based on the readings, I will try to create a DYK nom. The PSI reading reached 321 at 10pm, and we owe our greatest thanks to Indonesia, of course (whether you celebrate a new record or curse Indonesia, I'm both). DYK nomination of Environmental issues in North Korea
Hello! Your submission of Environmental issues in North Korea at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Seeing that you are on holiday, I guess I should try to find the time to try to fix the issues I identified in the review... --Orlady (talk) 15:36, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Mark Twain and oyster ice-cream
Hi,
I wanted to review your DYK nomination, but I read Tom Sawyer more than once years ago, and I don't recall anything about oyster ice-cream. Also, this website is sceptical about whether Twain himself liked (or even ate) oyster ice-cream [2]. I'll leave it with you. NinaGreen (talk) 21:47, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Crab ice cream
On 20 June 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Crab ice cream, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that crab ice cream is sweet in taste and has been compared to "frozen crab bisque"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Crab ice cream. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

2013 Southeast Asian haze
Hi Bonkers, I notice you added the NEA website as a source. Please don't use that, as it is refreshed every day. Channel NewsAsia Online would be a better source. Cheers. Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 07:02, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Well, most important thing is for it to be properly referenced. I don't mind changing the source. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 09:49, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
Another thing, you nominated the article for ITN. Do you want to consider changing RectorRocks to someone else? Looking at the page history, he isn't any of the 3 most significant contributors at the time of posting. Also, I initially wanted to nom 2013 Singapore haze for ITN, but I found the process too troublesome. Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 07:15, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Southeast Asian haze In The News Candidacy
Hi there Bonkers,
I think the blurb you have written for the haze can be improved. I think a better one is as follows:
Blurb: A haze (effects pictured) engulfs Malaysia and Singapore, and causes the highest-ever Pollutant Standards Index reading in the latter country. (Post)
News source(s): The Star, Channel NewsAsia Online, The Straits Times
Oliverlyc 07:58, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
Alternatively (more biased against Indonesia in a way):
Blurb: Slash and burn cultivation in Indonesia causes the worst haze (effects pictured) recorded in Singapore, also affecting Malaysia. (Post)
News source(s): The Star, Channel NewsAsia Online, The Straits Times
Oliverlyc 07:58, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
I prefer the biased one more. Haha. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 09:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

- Well, for me, I'm just really bad at contributing content, or creating articles. Out of my 3 articles so far, none of them have even hit C-class.
Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 02:05, 21 June 2013 (UTC) - And this haze period, I contribute more content than usual (I won't dare to say a lot), is probably because I'm always excited about serious hazes. Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 02:11, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- I reassessed the haze article, and finally there's one C-class article in my list. [3] --Arctic Kangaroo (✉ • ✎) 02:58, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- There are many things to write about.. You could probably do some redlink hunting if you want to write more articles... And the haze one was good. Keep it up. Although just remember that everything factual should be cited; that's the way it works. I read that it hit 400, the PSI.
