- Comment- While I'm obviously a huge supporter of getting wine-related content on the main page, I have to admit that I am uncomfortable with the WP:WINEGUIDE and WP:ADVERT-sounding tone of the hook. It does sound like Wikipedia is trying to hawk Cinzano's wine. I do think we should go with a different angle. Maybe there is some historical tidbit tied into their 16th-century Brunello vineyard? The Rio Negro Valley is only recently getting attention for its Argentine wines so the vineyard planted in the 1930s may have some significance. I'll try to pitch in and find a more suitable hook topic. AgneCheese/Wine 23:23, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- Update- I've expanded the article from a few of the sources and think I've came up with a couple Alt hooks.
- Alt1 ... that Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano once owned one of the top ten largest producers of Brunello di Montalcino?
*Alt2 ... that Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano's Tuscan estate was one of the Brunello di Montalcino wineries investigated during the Brunellopoli scandal?
- ALT1 is good. ALT2 puts a sorta negative light onto the subject... Not something I want. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 11:08, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- ALT1 is good to go and I prefer it over ALT2 as well, and it looks like the issues raised above have been dealt with in this article, especially now that the article and ALT1 read less like a wine advertisement. The article meets Wikipedia and DYK guidelines, and the additional sources are appropriate to be internally cited in the article. Good to go! -- Caponer (talk) 03:34, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Note: striking original hook (not approved) and ALT2 (due to objections from article co-creator). BlueMoonset (talk) 05:26, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
