JoinIn2
could you please give me more details on why JoinIn2 was deleted? i noted why it was notable.. there are features it has that are unique to itself.. it's groundbreaking in its own ways. what else can i do? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nuk3m666 (talk • contribs) 00:57, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- If you look at Wikipedia:Notability (web) you'll see what "notability" means in this context. If some reliable source has written about the site and its features, it means it is notable; if not, it isn't. Since the site is brand new, it's less likely to be written about yet. I looked for sources before tagging the article for deletion, without finding any. --Bonadea (talk) 08:46, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
and why was it removed from the list of social networks? it IS a SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Nuk3m666 (talk • contribs)
- When the article was deleted from Wikipedia, the link to the article was deleted from the list of links. List of social networking sites only includes links to existing Wikipedia articles. --Bonadea (talk) 08:46, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism on Vama Veche
Dear Bonadea, If you follow my history, you will see that I joined wikipedia to clean the Vama Veche article of a recurrent vandalism, with obscene connotations, that is committed there now and then (and also, on a minor note, I point out a spamming instance: someone who uses the article to link-out his own website, self-styled as "fan club": www.fostavamaveche.ro, blabla). The spamming isn't a real problem; as long as we delete it periodically, its presence is still harmless, although illegitimate. But the aggressive vandalism I mentioned (easy to see in the article's history) is really harmful. Could one ban the IP of the vandal, please, or use some other means of protection? Gratefully yours, Herbert —Preceding unsigned comment added by Herbertklos (talk • contribs) 10:39, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- You're right, there is definitely a problem with vandalism there. I can neither block users nor protect pages; I suggest asking for semi-protection for the page at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. --Bonadea (talk) 12:26, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello i recently started a wiki topic on behalf of a friend. It has been marked for sppedy deletion I was wondering if it was possible for it not to be deleted yet as i will be editing it almost everyday.

Hello
Can you see the spanish article of Carthaginian Republic. [1]
Carthago was a Republic, no a Empire. Do you know about carthaginian politic?
Roman Republic-Carthaginian Republic any problem with this? --Husar de la Princesa (talk) 15:54, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- The problem was that there were two identical articles :-) It is a bad idea to make large changes without discussion and consensus. It is however a very good idea to start a discussion as you have done on the Carthage talk page. If the discussion ends in a decision to have the article called Carthaginian Republic rather than Carthaginian Empire, it is an easy thing to fix that. However, I am sceptical about the name change personally, since Carthage was initially a monarchy. --Bonadea (talk) 16:05, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Belated thanks
...for your help with my userpage and The Lucy poems the other day. Actually, I had been thinking of dropping you a little note anyway, because I remember working with you (AfDs and speedies) a few months back and thinking then that you would make an excellent administrator. Have you thought of running for adminship? Kafka Liz (talk) 14:19, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Guess I'll read that as, "I'd rather not, thanks." Still, thanks again. You do a lot of good work here, and it is much appreciated. :) Kafka Liz (talk) 13:31, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Argh! I really didn't mean to leave this without a response, but thought I needed a couple of days to frame a good one, and then... ooh, lookit shiny things!!
- But you're right, at least at this time I'd rather not run for Administrator. I'm immensely flattered that you'd consider me a good candidate, but at the moment I just don't have the time for it. Thank you for the suggestion! It made my day, even if I was rude enough to not respond until now. I appreciate your work as well, so here's to a long and fruitful cooperation :-)
- All the best,--Bonadea (talk) 13:51, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- No worries - I know you've been busy and understand all too well how easy it is to get sidetracked! :) Drop me a line if you ever change your mind: it would be a pleasure to write up a nomination for you. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, Kafka Liz (talk) 14:21, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
College Shack
Hello,
I believe the item you removed from the list of social sites was uncalled for. Instead of getting a pissing contest, you should check it out and maybe even write an article on it. I did add your school to their database (I am an admin) so you can signup using your schools email address. If you are having problems, I can tell the big boss man to give you a VIP account. Hope you will consider this and see why College Shack is worthy of an article and link on the social networking sites page. 70.56.40.126 (talk) 21:36, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Err, sorry wasn't logged in, Madscientist013 (talk) 21:39, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I don't even understand what you mean by "pissing contest". Whenever a redlink is added to the article List of social networking websites it is removed again, and that is stated very clearly indeed in a comment on the editing page for the article. Articles about social networking sites should be written before the site is added to the list. That's all - nobody has implied that there is anything wrong with the College Shack site. Cheers, --Bonadea (talk) 21:57, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I see, my mistake then. Apologies all around. Madscientist013 (talk) 22:04, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem - thank you for being understanding about it :-) --Bonadea (talk) 22:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
FIREFOX
You removed my link to a FIREFOX extension on a FIREFOX page. I don't understand your rationale. The idea here is to connect users to other relevant links to the topic. You are diluting the user experience by believing that you are properly policing Wikipedia content. This is counter productive. I am simply adding more content. If my entry is inappropriate you should remove entries by Conduit and the others on these pages which are actual corporations are incentivized to advertise or promote their offerings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sotofsus (talk • contribs) 08:58, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- You added an external link as an entry in the article List of Firefox extensions. At the top of that article, It states in capital letters that only links to Wikipedia articles should be added to the article, not external links. Please make sure you read all editorial instructions before editing articles. Thanks! --Bonadea (talk) 09:02, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- In addition to the above, there are two other problems: you added promotional text together with the link, which is discouraged (please see What Wikipedia is Not), and that particular link had been added to other articles as well, where it also didn't belong, which rather makes it look as if it was being spammed. --Bonadea (talk) 09:12, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I re-entered 'Lulu.com' as the publisher of one of Greg Prato's books on his wiki entry, because Lulu.com has its own entry on the wiki site.

East Asia School of Theology
Hi,
I was trying to follow a similar style in writing an entry for East Asia School of Theology as what I see is done for Trinity Theological College, Singapore. Why are the links removed and the entry tagged an orphan when TTC seems to be a similar format?
Wongeeyuing (talk) 14:19, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, I understand. The links in Trinity Theological College are also not appropriate. As for the "orphan" tag, what it means is that few other articles link to the East Asia School of Theology article. To make the article easier to find, it's useful to have links from other related articles, and so the orphan tag is used as a flag. I hope that makes sense. --Bonadea (talk) 14:25, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Drew University
Hey, sorry I was having fun with on of my college buddies when I edited the Drew University famous alum. However, my name is Dan Greenberg, and I am Dan The Farter from Howard Stern. I'd really appreciate you putting me in the famous Drew Alumni. I've been on Stern since 1998, and my alumni buddies would really like to see that in the Drew Alumni section (as would I). If you need further proof feel free to email me at drdangreenberg@yahoo.com. Drdangreenberg (talk) 18:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I'm very much the wrong person to ask - as I'm not American, I know nothing at all about Howard Stern (apart from knowing roughly what he does). But I'm sure there are other people around, who are more clued in :-) --Bonadea (talk) 18:58, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Drew University notable alumni
Who can I speak with then? I'm new to Wikipedia, and have no idea who to talk to. However, my alumni buddies (and I) would really appreciate some help. Here's some links on me.... http://www.mahalo.com/Dan_the_Farter and WIKIPEDIA'S own link.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wack_Pack#Dan_the_Farter. Please see what you can do. Thanks for your time.....Dan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drdangreenberg (talk • contribs) 13:55, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- The people in the Notable Alumni section of Drew University are all subjects of Wikipedia articles. To request that an article be written, go here. If and when there is an article with verifiable sources and all, there is nothing to stop you from adding a link to it from the Drew University article, formatted like the other entries in the list.
- It is appreciated that you don't create the article yourself, btw, because creating articles where there is a conflict of interest is discouraged. Cheers! --Bonadea (talk) 16:46, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
greg prato
Hi Bonadea-
I noticed there is a message on the page for Greg Prato saying that there are no references on the page, but after each artist he has interviewed, there are reference marks that confirm these interviews as fact. Also, there are items listed by a third party on the page, so shouldn't the 'general notability guideline' message be deleted, as well? And why has a 'speedy deletion' tag been placed on this page again?
Thanks, Skybleu6 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skybleu6 (talk • contribs) 00:41, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- The hangon tag was placed there only a few minutes after the article was created - there were no references then [2]. As for the new speedy tag, you'll have to ask the editor who placed it there. Looks like you have started a discussion on the article's talk page already, which is the proper place for it. --Bonadea (talk) 09:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

- I apologise for not posting a note to your talk page when I had reverted the edit - I usually don't forget to do that. If you are married to Steven Myers you should not edit the Wikipedia entry about him unless there is some obvious error in the existing text. The text you added was very promotional in tone which is not acceptable in a Wikipedia article. If there are important facts missing from the article, please discuss them on the article's talk page and please provide verifiable third-party sources. See further this content guideline. Thank you. --Bonadea (talk) 07:26, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear bonadea i know you ask for the source. i saw in many cases source itself fake. but article still exist in Wikipedia. for such a simple line that Buddha was born in Nepal, that everyone knows was really ignored by ent. giants like Warner bro. i have edited many articles in Wikipedia. but i am losing a trust slowly. What shows you iam not neutral . everytime my ip add. is same isnt it. If you ask me for source , i say wikipedia itself. now whom shall i trust. just go on Buddha in wikipedia find out your self and see the movie go to facebook and see the prtotest. now no more change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.21.199.119 (talk) 11:52, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia can never be trusted as a source on its own. Because anybody can edit Wikipedia, thousands of people edit it every day to add wrong information or outright lies. That's why nobody should ever trust anything that is stated in Wikipedia unless there is a clear source for the information. Unfortunate but true.
- I do not doubt your good faith, and agree that if the film actually makes a false statement it would be relevant to include that in the article. Just please find a source for the claim that the statement is made in the film. It doesn't appear to be a central premise for the plot of the film, since it's not mentioned in the quoted reviews. --Bonadea (talk) 11:59, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- I added a sourced sentence about the protests. --Bonadea (talk) 12:15, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Not Personal
This was not just a personal experience from shutterfly, it's feedback I've gotten in years of experience with serveral photo sharing sites. Kodakgallery being one that shares the same issue. I thought it would be helpful to have the information on this site for person(s) trying to decide which to chose from. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiblees (talk • contribs) 18:56, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Mmm, fair enough. The problem is, though, that there has to be sources for the criticism, that can be verified. Rather than this kind of wording, you might sor instance add something on the lines of "Shutterfly has been criticized for its frequent downtime, which according to SOURCE causes worry among users". Are there any important online (or offline, for that matter) sources that have written about the problem? Please have a look at WP:SOURCE to see what kind of sources are considered relevant. Thank you! --Bonadea (talk) 19:51, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I've done searches and actually come across quite a few people asking for help on the site. That it always goes down and there's no way to get any kind of help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiblees (talk • contribs) 20:20, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I've actually come across tons of forums of people asking for help with numerous problems with the shutterfly site. Here's one...
"I've created shutterfly albums through the "add shutterfly albums" link. Yesterday, I managed to get a 10 photo shutterfly album to work. Then when I tried to fix it, I lost the whole thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiblees (talk • contribs) 20:25, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Forums are usually not considered reliable sources. Any time a site with a large user base fails to work, its users will be frustrated, and that they post about it in forums is only natural. But unless some source that does qualify under WP:Verifiability mentions it, it isn't really something that should be included in the article. --Bonadea (talk) 22:04, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi. Just a note, but the above had a good revision in the history - it was as a disambig page so I've reverted back to there. Whilst I agree that the current content was spam there's no need to delete it. Just to let you know.
- Argh, sorry, I really should have seen that - in particular since I'd already reverted another dab page that user had changed into their band advert. Good thing some of us are more perceptive :-) --Bonadea (talk) 08:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- No worries - it happens, particualrly where the page history is short it's easy to assume one author and no good version to revert to. Happy editing and thanks for your help on RC patrol (I would note that your tagging is generally very accurate BTW). Pedro : Chat 08:22, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you very much for suggesting it! It's extremely encouraging to hear that my work is considered solid enough for that :-)
- Maybe in a couple of months I will consider it, but at the moment I'm in the very last stages of finishing my PhD thesis, which means that I couldn't commit to that kind of responsibility at present - and that I am in a state of constant stress as it is, and wouldn't deal very well with the constant stream of abuse heaped on the heads of the admins.
- If and when I change my mind about running for admin, I'll drop you a line :-) Thank you again! --Bonadea (talk) 12:18, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, no problems - I understand about RL commitments! If and when you want to run hit me up and I'll be delighted to nominate. Mr. Universal Hero mention like this (Please do not disturb me now about film stubs - every film deserves to have an article) then how can i contact him
Thats why i am writing to you, i saw in Dasavathaaram page they have mention so many distributor ...
(| production_company = Aascar Films
| distributor = Aascar Films/Sony India
Ayngaran Int.
Walt Disney
Narmadha Travels)
But the truth is there are only one distributor called aascar film.Dasavathaaram
you can see in this site http://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-movie-news-1/apr-08-03/dasavatharam-18-04-08.html
One more truth is that Oscar Ravichandran is also called V Ravichandran but not Venu Ravichandran.
His father's name and sur name his called Viswanathan. So, V for Viswanathan Ravichandran.
Please update this in your pages. I came to know from genuine source.
POV Changes
by removing content before gathering a consensus, you violate WP:CON and WP:POV. you remove content to fit YOUR point of view, and you do not have the consensus of the community. I ask that you revert the changes on marriage license and add the dispute notice as was placed previously. there is clearly a dispute that should be resolved.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Yourmanstan (talk • contribs) 04:51, February 11, 2009 (UTC)
- What I did was remove POV phrasing and content, and start a discussion on the talk page. Adding contentious content first and discussing it later (which was the way you chose to tackle this) is not an acceptable way of editing Wikipedia. Concerning my alleged POV, while I have a lot of points of view on various subjects (that's a built-in feature of being a human), marriage licences isn't one of those subjects - I have no opinion one way or the other if they are good, bad or indifferent.
- The change in question is here. --Bonadea (talk) 19:13, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Erick Walder
You removed two items about Erick Walder, apparently the two I put on there. My daughter was Erick Walder co-defendant in the possession with intent to deliver charge and it was in all the local papers and is available at the courthouse. Also, his ex-wife, Stacie Bonomo Walder brought criminal charges against him for stealing money from her checking account. He received five years probation. My daughter had a baby with Erick Walder and during a custody battle, Stacie confirmed this on the stand. Also, this information is available from the Washington County Courthouse. You deleted the information because you said it oculd not be verified, but it is all verifiable. miroller@uark.edu —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mroller1 (talk • contribs) 19:57, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Excellent! Please provide the sources - not to me, but in the article. That the information can be verified is not sufficient, I'm afraid, especially when it is potentially controversial information concerning a living person. Here is some information about verifiability and sources. --Bonadea (talk)
things i have changed

- I'm sorry, but this change is not neutral, and it is also unsourced. If some verifiable source has written about the similarities between the new logo and a penis, that information could be added, but just stating "the logo looks like a penis" is a statement of personal opinion, and that doesn't belong in Wikipedia. The last part of the section, in brackets, was not comprehensible. And, finally, the new logo is already mentioned in the article. --Bonadea (talk) 19:21, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I took the liberty to semiprotect your userpage for a week. Hopefully that'll drive him away. Don't hesitate to ask for an early lift of the protection, or for an extension. -- lucasbfr talk 10:23, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

About In Review Online
Hi, the page "In Review Online" which I created has been tagged for "speedy deletion" by you. I would sincerely like to ask your help in order to make this page fit Wikipedia's guideline for what I am trying to accomplish. I believe that In Review Online is a valuable source of music and film criticism that deserves a page on Wikipedia, but do not wish to break any rules of this great site. That is not my intention at all. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated, and for the time being I will add the "hang on" tag to the top of my page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Roco133 (talk • contribs) 13:46, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Westrogothland
Re Daniel Westling article. I am of the opinion that you are right about the Latin version for the Swedish province/dukedom of Västergötland and that I am right about a legitimate English version (ref: Throne of a Thousand Years by Jacob Truedson Demitz page 178) which can be found in several sources on Google. The English versions are for maximally easy readability (in English), especially oral reading, e g for children and the blind. But I do not want to edit war about it and will leave it up to you if you want to revert your change. Greets! 217.209.96.84 (talk) 12:33, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Since neither one is the name of the province, and since neither "Westrogothia" nor "Westrogothland" would be perceived as English words by English-speakers, it's a minor point really. But Westrogothland is a neologism which simply isn't used other than by a small handful of people, and it looks like a Swedishism and a typo unless you happen to know that it's been used before. So I think that if Västergötland needs to be qualified (personally I don't see the need for the "translation" at all), it's better to use the notable term. --Bonadea (talk) 13:20, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- I am trying really hard to remain calm and be nice. You may or may not understand how I could find that a bit tricky when you make statements like "...since neither "Westrogothia" nor "Westrogothland" would be perceived as English words by English-speakers...", meaning that I am not an English-speaker, alluding to some kind of considerable expertise on your part as to how English-speakers would perceive what phonetics, and inferring that I do not know what I am writing about (your knowing nothing about my considerable expertise on this particular subject). "-land" is in the above legitimate province name rather than "-ia" not only because it is in the original (after Västergöt- which is a total bust to English eyes), but mainly because of English phonetics, that is the phonetics of an international language. (Sorry I raised my voice a bit.) What you wrote and inferred above is quite rude in English, my dear Bonadea (whether or not that was your intention). You have practically forced me to render you that opinion of mine, since my first language is English (I see yours is not) and I have taught it for over 40 years. Phew! Umph! Nail-bite! Calm again... Must we argue? Can't you please try to trust me on this? Maybe we can even be friends? I ask you very very kindly to reread what I wrote above about readability before you wish unnecessarily to defend anything else in a text in English, ever again, where this kind of phonetics from another language makes a word practically unreadable, especially aloud e g to children and the blind. This is Demitz's major contribution to English literature on Swedish topics, for which he is world famous in the few circles that care. It makes it 1000 times easier for non-Swedish-speakers to really understand subjects concerning Sweden and the Swedes, and naturally it increases their interest in such subjects just as much. We need much more such serious, well-researched work in a world urgently screaming for more effective inter-cultural communication and heading very rapidly for a globalized lingo full of utterly impossible terms and sounds. They will create a worldwide circus unless we all wake up and start trying to slow this Clueless Carousel. How could you possibly ignore the reference I made to him and what I wrote to you there, attempting out of sheer courtesy to give you a valuable aha-experience about readability in order that your commendable English might improve even a little more? Thank you for letting me get these points, and that closing question off my heavily respiring chest! I mean well, truly. 217.209.96.84 (talk) 19:51, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Apologised on your talk page. As I obviously have no clue whatsoever about basic communication skille (and this is neither sarcastic nor bitter - it's a statement of fact), Wikipedia may not be for me. --Bonadea (talk) 22:50, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- I too am sorry if I offended you - and as I wrote just above here, your English is not all that bad. It was more your attitude just then. There is a masterful and rather unfriendly tone here on English Wikipedia that we all should avoid sometimes. Me too. Keep up the good work & thank you! 217.209.96.84 (talk) 04:40, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
