Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ghosts (2019 TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Hogan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Category:WikiProject British TV shows members requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. DYK for Francis Duncan (writer)

[edit]

On 29 January 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Francis Duncan (writer), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the true identity of the British crime writer Francis Duncan was unknown until after a reprint of his 1949 novel Murder for Christmas? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Francis Duncan (writer). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Francis Duncan (writer)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

File source problem with File:BBC Select logo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:BBC Select logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Notice

The article 0191 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails Wikipedia's General Notability Guidelines – no sources listed here indicate that this particular code is somehow notable enough to have an encyclopaedia entry. See also this discussion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dad's Army task force revival?

[edit]

Hi Bob Castle. I'm new to editing Wikipedia; this is the first message I have made on someone else's talk page. I was just wondering about your thoughts on reviving the Dad's Army task force, and turning it into an active task force again. I have recently joined the task force, even though it is currently inactive, because of my love for Dad's Army, and because I figured I may be notified more easily about the discussion of Dad's Army-related articles if I joined.

I feel a revival would be viable, because there is still much more work to be done on the various Dad's Army articles, particularly the episode and character articles. Also, many new users will have joined since the task force was first created, and the task force could be readvertised on the Dad's Army talk page. I am very enthusiastic about improving the Dad's Army articles and have plans for improving/creating more articles in the near future.

From viewing the Participants list, I can see that you were one of the sub-coordinators of the task force, so I figure you would be the one to contact to discuss this topic. Please let me know what you think. All the best, Lotsw73 (talk) 07:13, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Marauding Scot has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Seems to not exist/no sources found

Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dad's Army episodes

[edit]

Hi Bob! I thought I would begin a quiet discussion here about the existence of the Dad's Army episode articles. I have noticed that the majority of them were created from around 2005 to 2007, and the guidelines for episode articles has changed considerably since then, meaning that the majority of the episodes would now be considered non-notable and could be deleted. I just wanted to pose here the episode articles which I believe should be kept in case they become listed as Articles for deletion in the future, based on their WP:NOTABILITY:

Series 1

Series 2

Series 3

Series 4

Christmas Special

Series 5

Series 6

Christmas Specials

Series 9

"?": Perhaps these sketches could be moved to a List of Dad’s Army sketches article?

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the matter, and your thoughts on the articles I have nominated to remain. Ideally, I would like all of the episode articles to fly under the radar and not be possibly deleted. However, I thought it would be good to raise the matter with a Dad's Army-related editor in case something like this should occur. Mr Sitcom (talk) 07:38, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Mr Sitcom You're right that at that point there was a tendency to create articles for each episode which are mostly just a plot summary, and I generally agree that having just a plot isn't probably worth separate articles for. I quite often favour the later innovation on Wikipedia of having 'season' based articles that allow some of the production detail and plot information, but without lots of extra articles.Having said that, Wikipedia does have articles for every episode of programmes like The Simpsons etc and with these there's always the potential of additional production information being added. Yes, that is a good point. Perhaps if these articles are brought up for deletion in the future, we can suggest that they be converted into series articles (Dad's Army series 1, etc.)? But for now, we can leave them be... Thanks for the feedback! Mr Sitcom (talk) 07:58, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
