Re: Hey

You know, I think I will use your new userbox. It's quite interesting, thanks! Don't feel too bad about having only one fan of your "randoms" userbox. I have none for this one or this one!

Yeah, I knew User:Ippy was usurpable. But like you said, I suppose I'm established as hippi ippi and I can't really be bothered to change (for now). Thanks, though! *H¡ρρ¡ ¡ρρ¡ 09:07, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Bob, just list them at WP:UFAA, which is watchlisted by a few admins, and they'll be blocked very quickly! --Stephen 1-800-STEVE 02:59, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Bob

Thank you for sending me the how to get started information. CTS10866 02:59, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Welcoming

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
For all your fantastic work welcoming users! You leave no work for me :( Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 03:42, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Anytime :) Always great to have others beating me to work. Although I do get bored sometimes :p Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 04:06, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Timestamp

I know this may seem to be an odd question, but how do you get the timestamp in your signature to be small? - Andrew 17:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. :) - aegreen (talkcontribs) 01:31, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

My script

You also need to include the line:

importScript("User:TheFearow/tagger.js");

into your code, as my script uses my tagger script to do its work. You can also include your own, simply by changing the names of the template (you see them like "subst:W-screen" in the URLs) in the code. If you dislike the tagger scripts functions, I can make a simpler version for you that just does it for the welcomer. Thanks! Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 06:00, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Replace "subst:W-screen" with "subst:User:Bob/welcome|cookies=true|heading=true|headtext=Hello from Bob". That should work. Also, welcome() is a custom function defined by another script. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 06:16, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
If you have another script, yes. Just replace:

document.getElementById("contentSub").innerHTML = "<h" + "2>The Save button has automatically been clicked, please wait while you are redirected.</h" + "2>";

     var loc = 1;
     if(QueryString.get("loc") == "bottom"){
          loc = 0;
     }
     var type = QueryString.get("tag");
     if(document.editform.wpTextbox1.value.indexOf("{" + "{"+type+"}}") != -1){
         window.alert("Page already has tag");
         history.go(-1);
         return;
     }
     if(loc == 1){
          document.editform.wpTextbox1.value = "{" + "{" + type + "}}\n"+document.editform.wpTextbox1.value;
     }else{
          document.editform.wpTextbox1.value = document.editform.wpTextbox1.value + "\n{"+"{"+type+"}}";
     }
     document.editform.wpMinoredit.checked = true;
     document.editform.wpSummary.value = "Added tag {"+"{"+type+"}}";
     if(QueryString.exists("makeredir")){
         document.editform.action = document.editform.action + "&redir=" + QueryString.get("makeredir");
     }
     document.editform.wpSave.click();
     return;

with:

     welcome();

That should work, assuming you have the welcome function in another script. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 07:59, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Re. the double-post (and I've removed the second one): The reason is that you were signed up under your old name, and then signed up again under your new name without removing the old link. As a result, you received it twice. I've removed your old name from the page, and this shouldn't happen again. Ral315 » 02:09, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:YouTube external.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:YouTube external.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

re:Luck

Thank you very much for your words of encouragement and your luck. Luck was exactly what I needed and it prevailed in the end. The matter is resolved and will resume editing now. Thanks again, — Moe ε 11:39, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair Use

I notice you have uploaded the image Image:YouTube external.gif with the {{GFDL}} fair use image tag. However, this tag seems unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:YouTube external.gif has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:YouTube external.gif can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{GFDL}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. ~ Wikihermit 19:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Image use

Bob:

Admittedly I'm not the brightest bulb in the package, so I need your guidance. I have a couple of images I would like to use in the article I've been working on about Country Musician, Danny Davis.

These images are from my personal photo album. They were taken by my son-in-law. There is no copyright on the images, these images, to my knowledge, are not available anywhere else. My son-in-law has no objection to their use. What tag do I need to use to make these images acceptable/useable on Wikipedia?

Thanks,

Srplemmons 13:27, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Photo use in article

Bob:

Another photo has been removed from the article I'm working on. It had been up for a week or better so I thought everything was okay. Again I need your help.

The photo in question was an industry "headshot" or promotional photo of Danny Davis. It was given to me by Danny and is a standard part of his press kit. He has no problem with the photo being used. He and I have discussed the copyright issue before on his headshots because it came up once when we were buying some print advertising. That particular newspaper accepted the photo for publication without a release from the photographer. There is no photographer's name or copyright on the image I'm wanting to use.

Thanks for the help.

Fair use disputed for Image:Process.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Process.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:13, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome some feedback

Hello, my name is Isucheme and I am currently writing my first Wikipedia article on the Churchill-Bernstein Equation. The equation is used to find an average (convection) heat transfer coefficient to use in Newton’s Law of cooling for a cylinder in cross flow, and the mass transfer analogy, as described in the article, can be employed to find a mass transfer coefficient. I would appreciate any feed back you can give me on my article so I can make it a great article. Thank you. 20:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Isucheme
