Your user name

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I hope you have a successful time here. However, there is a problem with your user name, as it is likely to give the misleading impression that this is a bot account, i.e. an account used to run automatic editing programs or scripts. Such misleading user names are not allowed by Wikipedia's username policy, so please choose another name, and your account can be renamed. To avoid wasting time asking for a user name which is already taken by another editor, click on this link, which will take you to the record of your editing history, in the box where your user name is given type in the new user name you are considering, and then click the "Search" button. If the name is not already taken then you will see a red message telling you so; for example, if you type "BlueBottle AK" in then the message will look like this: User account "BlueBottle AK" is not registered. ("BlueBottle AK" would be an acceptable name.) Instructions on how to request a change of user name are given at Wikipedia:Changing username, but simpler is to ask me to rename your account. You can do that on my talk page, or you can do it on this page provided that when you do so you include {{ping|JamesBWatson}} and also in the same edit sign by including ~~~~. That will notify me of your message next time I log in or edit. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:57, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have continued to edit using a user name which includes the suffix "Bot" after I informed you that Wikipedia policy did not permit you to do so. I have therefore blocked this account from editing. If you wish to return to editing, you may request an unblock by adding the text {{unblock-un|your new username here}} at the bottom of this page, replacing the words "your new username here" with a new user name you are willing to use. (You are still able to edit this page, despite the block.) Alternatively you may contact me on this page and ask to be renamed, as described above, but the option of doing so on my talk page will not be available as long as the block is in place. Since I have now learnt that this account is a sockpuppet, created to evade blocks other accounts in order to post spam, the offer to return to editing subject to a change of name is withdrawn. I hope you are not happy to have wasted my time writing a fairly long message trying to help someone who I thought was a legitimate new editor who didn't know how Wikipedia works. A tag has been placed on User:BlueBot AK/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
