March 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Ayodhya Airport, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Your edit added the word "International" to the official name. But the cited source said that the official name was "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport".

Your edit has been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation that explicitly supports your version of the name, then please present this information on the article talk page. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 22:13, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023

Information icon If you are going to edit Wikipedia, and change the Wikilinks, please could you look to see what articles you are linking to.

I think that Ayodhya is near the river in Uttar Pradesh.-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:45, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Amitabh Bachchan. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

Please stop changing the birthplaces of people to the latest names. As per Template:Infobox person "Use the name of the birthplace at the time of birth" In addition it also states "What the place may correspond to on a modern map is a matter for an article's main text." so please don't add "modern day Prayagraj" (or anywhere else) in the infobox - Arjayay (talk) 10:56, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Allahabad district, you may be blocked from editing. - Arjayay (talk) 19:49, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

May 2023

[edit]

Information icon Please do not mess up valid wikilinks as you did in this edit on 5 May, when you turned a working link into a red link. And deleting the red link as you did on 10 May was the wrong solution. Wikilinks are part of the architecture of Wikipedia; they help the user to find the information they need. Please learn to check whether your edits work correctly before you press the publish changes button, and recheck after the edit has been published. We all get it wrong some of the time, so checking twice reduces the number of mistakes. If in doubt, self-revert. If there is a problem you do not know how to fix, use the article talk page to explain what you are trying to do.-- Toddy1 (talk) 05:02, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Ayodhya Cantt railway station a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 17:16, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please stop deleting Faizabad from the list of cities served in the infobox of Ayodhya Airport. Whilst it is true that it serves Ayodhya City (pop 55,890 in 2011), but it also serves the much larger city of Faizabad (pop 165,228 in 2011).-- Toddy1 (talk) 05:55, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The word "previously" means at a previous or earlier time.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:43, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edit to Faizabad Cantonment, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 23:33, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Amaniganj, Faizabad a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Ayodhya Airport. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Since this move has been opposed in the past, you will need to go through discussion on the talk page and the WP:Requested moves process.C.Fred (talk) 16:43, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Ayodhya Airport, you may be blocked from editing. Additionally, the normal practice in the lede sentence is to put the full name first, followed by shortened versions or nicknames. However, the shortened names need to be shown to be in common use per reliable sources, which you have not done.C.Fred (talk) 11:42, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ayodhya Airport. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Toddy1 (talk) 12:28, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Faizabad Cantonment Wikipedia title page to Faizabad Cantt Wikipedia title page

[edit]

Faizabad Cantt (officially Ayodhya Cantt) is the cantonment town in Ayodhya district. I have redirected the Faizabad Cantonment page with Faizabad Cantt Wikipedia page. Because Faizabad Cantt and Faizabad Cantonment are same name. No need two Wikipedia page for that. And Faizabad Cantt or Ayodhya Cantt is good name for the title page. Government of India changed the name of Faizabad Cantt name as Ayodhya Cantt in October 2022.So you can merge Faizabad Cantt and Faizabad Cantonment both pages into Ayodhya Cantt Wikipedia page 2402:3A80:4192:9A24:FCA5:2003:832A:9770 (talk) 23:41, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nandigram (Bharatkund)

[edit]

Despite your claim here there is no discussion on the talk page. Go to Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves and follow the directions to start a discussion. Wikipedia pages about localities needing to be disabiguated are "village, region" not "village (ancient name)" even it is also a religious site. Chaure Bazar moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Chaure Bazaris not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, or a link to an official government source showing it is a legally recognized populated place. This article has zero. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:39, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
