ARIA Streaming Singles
[edit]Hello and thank you for attempting to improve Wikipedia by adding the peak position on the ARIA Streaming Singles chart to various song articles. Please note however that ARIA Streaming Singles is merely a component chart of the all-format Aria Singles chart and as such should not be included (see WP:CHARTS for an explanation).
Thank you for understanding. LifeofTau 00:34, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Life of Tau: I'd like to add to this though, that it's generally accepted that if the song has not made the top 100 of the main ARIA Singles Chart that adding its Download or Streaming chart peak is okay (as I've seen other users do this with the UK charts, for instance). However, I've yet to come across a song in the top 50 of the streaming chart that is not at least in the top 100 of the overall singles chart. Ss112 00:40, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to List of number-one singles of 2017 (Australia). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Ss112 02:53, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
Can you please not update things if you're not wanting to update the accompanying date? It is annoying to anybody updating certifications (or charts, for that matter) to see that somebody else who has wanted to update the certification has not bothered with the date. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for October 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Australian chart achievements and milestones, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Madonna (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The Drover's Wife (talk) 02:51, 21 December 2017 (UTC)New Zealand year-end charts
[edit]I apologise for the extensive rollback of your edits, but you need to be careful about what you're adding. The URL you added (at least for me) did not work—it appears you either erased or clicked something that made the URL pathway say "chart/?chart". As it's the year-end singles chart, it needs to have "singles" in there, otherwise it could also be open to future pathway errors, especially with the Recorded Music NZ website. Also, you need to adapt the date format for the page you're adding information to. Don't just copypaste the reference whole. Take a look: if the page you're adding the reference to says "22 December 2017" for its dates, use that format. If it says "December 22, 2017", use that. You used "December 22" on British artists' articles, which is the incorrect date format for that region. I believe I've pointed this out to you before either here, in a revert or just in an edit summary. Ss112 06:03, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Ss112: Ok, sorry about that, I tried the link for me and it worked so it's either working for everyone except you or not working for everyone except me. Apologies Bc654 6:16, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say it's necessarily either/or. Just the other day, the Canadian year-end charts were loading for several editors, but not for others (including myself—I asked a friend and it was working for them, and they live in the same country). At least for that, though, Billboard's site is often very arbitrary for whom it updates... Ss112 06:24, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

- I generally only follow Australian articles, so I hadn't seen the American ones - and you're right, they're not great either. As far as I can see, the US chart articles are referring to when that song or album entered the charts this time: e.g. Mariah Carey is listed as having entered the top ten on 30 December, not in 1994. I suspect this goes a long way towards making the list comprehensible: it's not so hard to follow things still in the charts from late the previous year, but it gets very confusing when there's unclear references to tracks and albums from long before. If you can fix that up, I'll gladly accept - no point making it your problem that there's larger issues in this area. The Drover's Wife (talk) 13:32, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- I fixed All I Want for Christmas Is You (and resubmitted the singles article) as on all the top 10 charts (US and UK), they only have the stats for that year. However, I haven't changed the stats for Christmas and Friends for Christmas yet on the albums page as on the US (US is the only other top 10 albums page), they have the all time stats not just the stats for that year so I'm not sure if I want to completely change my format I've been doing just to submit the article.

Date formats
[edit]I have lost count of the amount of times I've said to you, in either an edit summary, a revert or on this talk page to adapt date formats in the reference you are copypasting to different articles. It is not a difficult concept. Use what date format that article uses. If it uses "3 January 2018", use that. Do not just copypaste a reference saying "January 3, 2018" on the page. It is lazy and shows you haven't bothered to look. Please start doing this already. Ss112 03:21, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Ok, I get what you mean. Sorry about it and I'll start using it instead. Bc654 3:42, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Lists of top 10 albums in Australia
[edit]I've revamped List of top 10 albums in 2017 (Australia) so it truly reflects the topic of albums that reached the top 10 in Australia during the year 2017, starting from the first issue of the year through the last. This way, it is specifically what it says it is. It doesn't matter about albums that return years later because someone dies or any other reason. I'll work on the 2016 list later. The US top ten albums lists are even worse and I'm sorry you tried to model these lists after those. All the additional stats are WP:IINFO. I'm not a fan of top ten lists like these in general but at least this set up is less confusing to the average reader. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:38, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, should I add the weeks in top ten or just keep it how it is? Bc654 23:32, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary. It's not something that's readily available unless someone actually counts the weeks in the top ten. I've seen weeks on the full chart (like australian-charts.com shows) and weeks at #1 but is there a place where you can find specifically weeks in the top ten? --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 01:07, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- I'm happy to do it like I usually would. I like the concept as it separates the big albums from the small. On auscharts.com you can see every position that an album/single has charted at so I can look at that and see how many weeks it's spent in the top ten. If you still don't want me to add it back then no big deal but I'm happy to count it and add it back in.Bc654 8:02, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
- You'd have to reference each and every one to those specific pages, though. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 01:23, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
