Use draftspace
[edit]Please put "Draft:" before all of your articles before publishing. Thanks. — Sagotreespirit (talk) 23:46, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- Baozon90, I agree with Sagotreespirit. Most of us use draftspace or userspace to work on our articles so they are in good shape when they're published to the mainspace. We don't want to put unfinished work-in-progress in front of readers. Schazjmd (talk) 23:53, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- I disagree i should have freedom of speech nonetheless. Baozon90 (talk) 23:54, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- If you're going to the trouble of creating an article, you want it to be kept in the encyclopedia, yes? Incomplete articles or articles that don't meet standards won't be kept. If you do the work in draftspace or userspace to get your articles to a good state, they're less likely to be deleted. Schazjmd (talk) 23:57, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

Articles
[edit]Hello Baozon! Creating new Wikipedia articles from scratch takes a lot of work, and it's usually best to gain a bit of experience adding reliably sourced material to already existing articles to get a better understanding of how articles are structured and sourced. If you have a topic in mind that you want to write an article about, it might be beneficial to use the Article wizard to submit it for review. A good way to start an article is to find 3 reliable independant sources about the subject, summarize what they say, and cite them. If you ever have any questions, come ask at the Teahouse. Happy editing :) – Thjarkur (talk) 23:54, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Catnip Cloud
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Catnip Cloud, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Jalen Folf (talk) 23:01, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
The article Nigel Peake has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 22:54, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Eyes on Fire (song) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Eyes on Fire (song), does not have any sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Jalen Folf (talk) 16:33, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
The article Cudderisback has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Did not release as a single; fails WP:NSONG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:42, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Your new article Janice Dodge only contains a single word ("politician") and no sources so I've temporarily moved it to draftspace, but I was wondering if I could offer you my help in writing the article? Submitting Drafts
[edit]Hey Baozon, it looks like you have submitted drafts in the past! When promoting draft articles, it is important that the articles are sent through Articles for Creation, otherwise known as AfC. In fact, it appears that you have attempted to submit Draft:Hanging in Russia, as well as Draft:Hangings in Russia. I'd rather not be redundant, and users Home Lander and Bkissin seem to have already reviewed your articles. with that being said, it would be best to take their reasoning to mind as you continue to improve your article. Regardlesss, thanks for contacting me! Utopes (talk) 03:02, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
Advice on learning to edit
[edit]I see that a very large proportion of your editing so far has consisted of creating articles or draft articles which have been judged unsuitable, which must be discouraging. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start. Iam bad at making pages but could you give me some easy tasks? Baozon90 (talk) 11:55, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- There is always a backlog of tasks to do at Wikipedia. Some are as easy as doing some copyediting (see WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors) or correcting spelling mistakes, and others involve finding sources to corroborate text on a page. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance.
