Welcome to BRMo's talk page. I will generally respond here to comments that are posted here, rather than replying via your talk page (or the article's talk page, if you are writing to me here about an article), so you may want to watch this page until you are responded to, or let me know where specifically you'd prefer the reply. |

Negro World Series
[edit]I created a few articles of varying detail about the Negro World Series of 1942, '45, and '46. Please feel free to copy whatever you wish from them for the Wikipedia articles. I don't edit much on WP any more (a heart attack and change of job will help do that), but I still check in now and again. -- Couillaud 23:37, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Joe Cambria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ben Taylor (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK for Joe Cambria
[edit]On 5 March 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Joe Cambria, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Joe Cambria was the first Major League Baseball scout to concentrate on recruiting players from Latin America? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Joe Cambria. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Harrisburg–St. Louis Stars
[edit]Hello, BRMo! I'm having trouble finding much anything about the above mentioned team. Do you know 1) if they played in 1942, 2) were they in (or associated with) the NAL or some other league in 1943, and 3) are they a continuation of the New Orleans–St. Louis Stars from 1941 or a whole new organization? No rush on a response, since this happened over 70 years ago, what's a few more weeks.... I'll watch your talkpage for a few days/weeks for a response. (Dynamic IP, will change when I log off.) --64.85.215.188 (talk) 08:24, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- I was able to look up a couple of articles from 1942–43 and have added the information to the article. For 1943, while it appears that the Harrisburg-St. Louis Stars were part of the NNL at the beginning of the season, the team doesn't appear in the season-end standings, so I presume they dropped out sometime during the season, but I haven't found a reference saying that yet. BRMo (talk) 17:37, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response, and for the quick edits. This is the first I have heard about the Black Yankees connection, and it also explains the gap in 1942 I've been curious about. In September I was digging around and could not reason why they were listed in the NNL WP article in 1943 instead of the NAL article and I could only find one source (Green Cathedrals, 2006) that had an NNL listing for '43, and Holway and the online sites made hardly a mention of them at all. I just added some graphical timelines to the league articles and ran into a few discrepancies that I wanted to straighten out. I have a few more gaps I want explained so I'll try using the google newspaper site myself. Rgrds. --64.85.215.121 (talk) 19:44, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Stanley Miarka, Frank Dyall, and Al Dubetts
[edit]I actually looked around for well over an hour looking for any proof that those players existed, along with two others. Was able to find proof of Lou Chirban and the other one (quite a few books noted the signings mentioned in the article), but those three I found nothing. The only (unreliable source) I found even name dropping any of them had Stanley Mierko and Frank Dyll, so I have no idea if the spelling on those is right. More so, while this isn't exclusive, the Negro Leagues B-R page had none of these players. If you're able to find concrete proof that I somehow missed then you're free to restore. The source you mentioned has no preview in Google, but if they are in there, if nothing else double check the spelling because I'm not convinced, even if they are notable, that those spellings are right. Hi, as I recall you were/are a significant Negro Leagues contributor. There's a question about a particular player on the Misc Ref Desk. I wonder if you would mind commenting? Thank you. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:05, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

unused, low-res, no obvious use

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1926 Colored World Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Harney. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
