File source problem with File:Valemount7.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Valemount7.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:35, 16 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:35, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:KPEJ2008.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:KPEJ2008.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:53, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Estrella Rankings

In the Estrella article, the rankings used were the freely available READS Ranks from RabbitEars and not the Nielsen DMAs. While the admins clearly don't want them used, and pulling them was the correct course of action as a result of that, citing them as "proprietary" was probably incorrect phrasing, unless I misunderstood something. =) Just wanted to point it out, haha. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:58, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

List of TV Guide editions

I want you to know that I have in my possession a 1977 issue of the Eastern British Columbia edition of the Canadian version. Therefore, I have restored that edition to the list.

And unless and until you can admit that you have a South Dakota, Eastern South Dakota or Western South Dakota edition, I am removing these entries. I know that that state's stations were listed in the Nebraska or Colorado editions (probably with white markers).97.120.135.129 (talk) 04:07, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Flagging articles as hoaxes

Hey, just a heads up, when flagging a suspected hoax article, please add the {{hoax}} tag to the top of the article, preferably below any deletion template that might be on the article. This template adds a banner notification that the article is suspected of being a hoax and automatically adds the article to Category:Wikipedia suspected hoax articles. While there is nothing wrong with hard-coding that category as you did here, it is preferable to add the banner notice as well as the category, and the {{hoax}} template makes it easy to do both. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, and happy editing! —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:46, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Science and nature education television series

Hi there. I recently created Category:Documentary television series about science as a result of this CfD, where it was decided that it was time to be more specific about the type of documentary: film, television (one-off or series) and even audio. I was not aware of your Category:Science education television series when I created the science doc series cat, but I think the two could compliment each other nicely, with your category reserved from programmes aimed at teaching science to kids, with Documentary television series about science both as a parent category and a catch-all for science series not strictly considered "educational television." Or that's one idea, anyway. Let me know what you think. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:24, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

re TLC

Okay three things:

1. don't template the regulars.

2. I removed the text in question because it was grammatically flawed to begin with. Unique means its the only one (The prefix uni means one). So saying it AND 2 others are unique is an oxymoron.

3. I explained that mentioning a certain basic cable channel airs infomercials overnight is irrelevant, since most of them do it. Wikipedia is not a TV Guide anyway.

Category Changes

Please stop making unnecessary changes to categories for articles. If a television show is produced by FremantleMedia, the associated category tag is appropriate even if the "parent article" has the tag as well (as with The Price Is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular and The Price Is Right). Also, moving The $1.98 Beauty Show from the Parodies category into Beauty pageant parodies (where it is the only article in that new category) is unnecessary. Please stop adding the FremantleMedia category to the Press Your Luck article. FremantleMedia did not exist when the show was in production, and classifying it as a program produced by FremantleMedia would be like calling James Monroe a Republican when he was actually a member of the Democratic-Republican Party. WBXX/WCPT

These really need to remain as separate articles, as they are not, nor were they, the same entity. While Acme Television may have purchased an old license (I can't find the records you're claiming that show this), there was never any continuity of staff, equipment, or resources from the original operation - WBXX was built in (and run from) Knoxville, not Crossville, as a completely new operation. To imply that two separate operations divided by at least 15 years are the same, as your edits imply, is completely incorrect. TheRealFennShysa (talk) 17:52, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Smile of a Child uses the JWB butterfly as the logo for the TV network.

It is in the upper right corner of the screen during programming, and front and center during network ID's.

The smiley face/halo logo is only used on the website, not on TV.

Trinity Broadcasting Network/TBN Networks

I agreed with most of your recent edits to TBN's Wikipedia Page. I do have a few questions though. I did add back info on their satellite footprint, which I feel is important information regarding the networks backbone. You do not feel it is important, but I don't see that is a rationale for a wholesale deletion? I also would like to understand your rationale for deleting the entire section about TBN's networks, which operate as separate networks with their own programing, although owned by TBN. I believe the information about these networks is relevant to the overall bio about TBN. I do think there is too much PR verbiage, which I removed. I do like the way you restructured certain sections in your 'massive rewrite'. I am somewhat new to Wikipedia, and would like to understand why you did a 'massive rewrite' of an article that has was published last year, and undergone many reviews, edits etc., by many Wikipedia editors. WUCF/WBCC

Hello,

I am contacting you regarding your recent edits to both WUCF and WBCC today. I understand your edits, but WBCC will no longer be the main station nor will it be changing call signs. WBCC will still exist as its own independent channel, as WBCC, on 68.2. If you check the numerous sources on the page, it is clear that WBCC will still exist as an independent channel, under the control of Brevard Community College after the change. This was even stressed during the press conference officially announcing WUCF yesterday (which is linked through appropriate references).

With this information at hand, I believe that your edits should be reversed and WUCF should be restored, as it will be a full-service PBS station and not nearly a transition from WBCC. WBCC will still exist, with its independence and call letters, branding intact. WBCC and WUCF will be sepereate entities, as is specifically noted on the stations site itself and in numerous references. In fact, the official site specifically states that WBCC will be a subchannel of WUCF-TV, while WUCF will be the primary station. The official site even answers the question will "WBCC still exist after July 1?"--Nemesis63 (talk) 22:12, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

In addition, contrary to you assertion, the station specifically refers to itself as a "new" channel, and "new" station, on its official site, as does the UCF president in yesterdays press conference. Furthermore, the site specifically distinguishes WUCF and WBCC as separate entities.--Nemesis63 (talk) 22:40, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Canal 5

I don't want to start a redirect war or anything can you change your cfds for Canal 5 and the article itself to Canal 5 network or Canal 5 (network) There arent any networks with that name in the world. Plus the "(Televisa Network)" is a bit more than twice as long as the network name and is incorrect "Network" shouldn't be capitalized. thanx, -AMAPO (talk) 00:51, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Qubo Article

I apologized for that, it is not your fault. I talked to Goodshoped and he was very rude to me. He tagged on my user talk page and I did not like what he wrote on my page. I did not talk trash to him, I am just giving him suggestions and he was the last person to edit this page.

Thank you for fixing the qubo page and I am sorry for what I said to you. I don't like people giving me rude comments or tag my user page, I delete them.

Kenneth Copeland

I didn't think that was an ad, since the products are being given for free!

So you are saying all of this is considered an ad:

Kenneth Copeland Ministries & Mike Huckabee

The Kenneth Copeland Ministries program "Believer's Voice of Victory" (BVOV) had six daily

programs in late 2007 (Sunday 2007-11-25 through Friday 2007-11-30) with 2008 USA Presidential
 Candidate Mike Huckabee.

These non-political messages explores two foundational teachings: The Need for Character and

Integrity and The Integrity of Character. The CD &/ DVD of these programs are available for
free, not even a shipping charge. from the estore on their ministry web site (see below
in external links). (Registration on the web site needed to order.) All BVOV programs are freely
available for download also, but these CD or DVD will be of Higher Quality, by at least one
 order of magnitude.

How about if I only add the first paragraph & the first sentance of the second paragraph. Would you say that is an ad? This part about the CD & DVD, I agree could be construed as being an AD. Though The CDs & DVDs are being given to you absolutely free! (Just like this Wikipedia article is Free!!)

Cut & paste move on WRRD / WAUK

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bill Curtis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Jab843 (talk) 04:08, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

WP:NOT a travel guide

I've undone some of your edits on Interstate 4. Wikipedia is not a travel guide, and we generally don't list non-notable points of interest along the route. --Rschen7754 04:47, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

I don't care if it's verifiable on Google Street View, and neither does the site; by that argument, the street I live on is on Google Street View; is that now notable for Wikipedia? Also, train stations are not nearly as significant as airports; there are way more train stations than airports; we can't afford to list them all. --Rschen7754 05:18, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Traditionally, only the roadways and destinations listed on the actual full exit sign, not the supplemental signage approaching the interchange, are listed in the exit list. Other major destinations are listed in the notes as appropriate without the table becoming a travel guide. We don't need to list every train station and tourist attraction in the table, and in fact, we shouldn't to keep the table simple and concise. Imzadi 1979  05:56, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

April 2012

Your recent editing history at Interstate 4 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You've re-inserted information now three times within the last 9–10 hours. Further reversions of content are grounds for a block because you're allowed three reversions/re-insertions in 24 hours. Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Mdann52 (talk) 20:06, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia Help Survey

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GSN's Gamerang channel launch question

Since GSN (Game Show Network) was launched on December 1, 1994, maybe will be launch a new channel spinoff called Gamerang (like Boomerang from Cartoon Network used by the voice of John O'Hurley).

Gamerang from GSN is a 24-hour American cable television channel owned by Sony Pictures Television. Gamerang specializes in reruns of game show programming, including pre-1989 Mark Goodson-Bill Todman, Bob Stewart, Chuck Barris, Barry & Enright, and Merv Griffin library along with Press Your Luck and Let's Make a Deal.

Not to be confused with video game rental service of the same name.

But I wonder if we get The Price Is Right with Bob Barker after GSN contract expired in early 2000 and Reg Grundy library to Gamerang, but I love to see it too.

And also will bring old promo memories review from the past about Richard Dawson kissing the female on Family Feud, Bob Barker with a contestant hug & kissing and says I love you Bob and others like similar to Boomerang cartoon channel and the defunct Nick GAS channel.

So the voice-announcer says "You're watching Gamerang from GSN".

So maybe it will be happening anytime soon in the future GSN's spinoff. What do you think? 74.72.39.176 (talk) 21:53, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Xhriologo2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Xhriologo2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

WP Television Stations in the Signpost

The WikiProject Report would like to focus on WikiProject Television Stations for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Multiple editors will have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions, so be sure to sign your answers. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. –Mabeenot (talk) 06:22, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Request to take part in a survey

I am Piotr Konieczny, a fellow Wikipedian (User:Piotrus) and a researcher of Wikipedia (http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=gdV8_AEAAAAJ). I am currently (in collaboration with WMF) embarking on a project trying to understand why the most active Wikipedia contributors (such as yourself) may reduce their activity, or retire. We have a growing understanding of why an average editor may do so (see http://strategy.wikimedia.org/wiki/Former_Contributors_Survey_Results), but we have a very limited understanding of why the top editors would limit their contributions. Yet it is the top editors like yourself who contribute most of Wikiepdia's content, thus understanding this is of vital concern to Wikipedia's project future.

I am contacting you because you are among the top Wikipediana by number of edits, yet your editing activity shows a decline. I would very much appreciate if you would take a minute and answer the following four short questions. Please note this is not a mass email; I am contacting only few dozen of editors like yourself, and each response is extremely valuable. Your response will not be made public, and your privacy will be fully respected.

If you would like to help out in this project and take part in a very short survey, please send me a wikiemail, so that I can send you an email with the survey questions. Alternatively I can post them here (please reply on my talk page or ping me so I know you have replied as I may not be able to monitor your userpage for replies). Cheers, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:30, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Whut2007.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Whut2007.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 18:13, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Timeless Media Group, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page One Step Beyond (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The change of call sign from CFEQ to CKCL

Hi Azumanga1: You probably noticed that I was considering what to do with the title of the article for CFEQ-FM. I started a discussion of sorts at the Talk Page (Should we rename this article to CKCL-FM or create a new article for 'Classic 107 FM'?) for that article. We could 'move' the article to CKCL-FM which already exists as a redirect. That should not cause a problem, as I found at WP:MOVE. If you do not object, I would like to make the 'move' since another station may eventually take the CFEQ-FM call sign, and that could cause problems down the road if the new station wants the CFEQ-FM title.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this. --Skol fir (talk) 01:28, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

I just discovered that the "CKCL-FM" redirect has more than one line in its history, but all we have to do is to add a request for an Admin to delete the redirect (since nothing is lost by doing that). Then I will be able to make the move of CFEQ-FM to CKCL-FM. --Skol fir (talk) 01:45, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
Azumanga1 -- I just noticed that you had already requested the move through the "Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests" page. It would have been faster to do the move yourself before changing the "CKCL-FM" redirect, but now that you changed that page we need an intervention from an Admin. So, let's just allow that to take its course. Too bad you did not see my new section on the Talk:CFEQ-FM page, so we could have discussed this before you took action. I guess you were not following that page at the time. Sometimes we act past each other instead of together. :) --Skol fir (talk) 03:55, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
