License tagging for Image:The NEW Bafendo Logo .PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:The NEW Bafendo Logo .PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi, and welcome to wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay. With regards to your article Bafendo, while we appreciate all additions to wikipedia, I'm not sure this business is notable enough to warrant an encyclopedia article. Feel free to discuss this with me on the article's talk page or my own. Again, welcome to wikipedia! Ruaraidh-dobson 08:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've added an AfD to Bafendo; just thought I'd let you know. Ruaraidh-dobson 08:36, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Regarding the AfD, please understand that we're not trying to insult your business by removing the article. We just don't think that it's notable enough yet for an encyclopedia article. If every small business in the world had an article, the information would quickly become unmanageable - think of all the businesses called similar names, like "Smith and Sons"! If and when your company becomes notable for one reason or another, it might get an article, but for now it's not really possible I'm afraid.
And your point about Microsoft is very well taken ;) Ruaraidh-dobson 09:54, 31 July 2006 (UTC) - Just wanted to echo Ruaraidh-dobson's comments. Please do not take this AfD personally; it's not a slight against you or your company. But there are certain standards that articles are supposed to meet, and one of those standards is called "notability". Notability is a vague term but it's been more specifically defined for specific types of articles. There are notability guidelines for web sites, fiction, numbers, and even porn stars. Review the terms of WP:CORP, which governs notability for companies. I think you'll see why the consensus seems to be in favor of deleting your article. Again, it's nothing personal. Good luck to you, good luck to Bafendo, may you have a long and happy tenure as a Wikipedia editor, and may Bafendo meet the notability guidelines someday. VoiceOfReason 15:18, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Don't act like a B-movie villain on AfDs; it makes you look like an idiot. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but telling people that they're on your list makes them laugh, unless you're Tony Soprano or something.

- I'm going to say this again - there is no giant conspiracy against Bafendo on wikipedia! We have given you perfectly reasonably reasons for our votes, and treated you cordially (for the most part). I'm sorry if you feel hard done by, but we've done all we can. Good luck. Ruaraidh-dobson 09:32, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
