Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Cold Iron (poem) have been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 22:14, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FishBabyThalla, you can ignore the above warning; the bot is imperfect and your edit obviously wasn't vandalism. I will point out that there is already a link from the article to Wikisource, which contains the full text of the poem, so that is one thing to consider in terms of whether it needs to be added to the article as well. DanCherek (talk) 22:50, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, after looking at other poem articles I found that the lyrics are included, and decided to upon consideration of its ease to the reader. But I appreciate if it is uncouth to add such. Thank you. FishBabyThalla (talk) 03:34, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted to mention it, no objections from me if you want to restore the text. The {{poem}} template might be helpful for formatting the verses to prevent it from appearing as one giant paragraph. DanCherek (talk) 11:51, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I was also wondering if I could add "Poems based on the Crucifixion of Jesus" category to the page since it has multiple references to it (for example the nails)\, or another category based on Jesus? FishBabyThalla (talk) 14:24, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems fine, but best practice would be to include a good source that discusses the poem's connection to the crucifixion and add it to the article as well, as all categorical information should be sourced too. DanCherek (talk) 17:46, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Draft:Massagiensis bulltopia, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on UCI Math Circle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I noticed you recently created the above linked article; whilst I commend creating new articles you need to be aware that editors are not able to edit topics relating to the Israel/Palestine conflict until they are Extended Confirmed. Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

  • Hello, I did not meant to offend anyone, you may delete the page. I noticed that there were articles for the spillover of other middle eastern conflicts, but not this one. So that’s why I made it

Ayunipear (talk) 22:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not looking to (or even able to!) delete the page - I'm just letting you know the rules around contentious topics so you don't end up afoul of them by continuing to edit the article :) CoconutOctopus talk 22:24, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thank you, please let me know if there are any issues with the article, I wrote some of the sections and am hoping other users add cited information . Thank you. Ayunipear (talk) 22:26, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the article to draftspace for now; it can be found here. Once you're extended confirmed (that is, you have over 500 total edits) you're able to edit it; until then other users are able to also. Do note that it's against the rules to deliberately make many meaningless edits just to reach this number. Hopefully this way the article can be expanded on! Spillover of the 2023 Israel-Hamas War

[edit]

You've added the "major edit" note and its been there for a while now. Are you still working on that because I'm hoping to contribute without interfering with your work. Prodrummer619 (talk) 14:35, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not making any edits right now, feel free to contribute. I’ll remove the tag and replace it with empty. Ayunipear (talk) 15:15, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ayunipear (talk · contribs), please note that as previously stated the article Spillover of the Israel–Hamas war falls under a contentious topics restriction and editing it is prohibited until a user is Extended Confirmed; continuing to edit this or other articles designated as contentious may lead to a block or topic ban. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Étienne Ghys, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages English and Affine. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:47, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I meant for it to link for buttocks, not but. Ayunipear (talk) 16:05, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The edit summary had it as "vandalism" but it appeared to me to be a good faith edit to add a link. Given the context of the sentence, I would think that the word "butt" (meaning buttocks) would be immediately obvious and so we don't want to WP:OVERLINK. But (not buttocks!) I could be persuaded otherwise. Cheers! BBQboffingrill me 16:46, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

JeChieDansLaSeineLe23Juin moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, JeChieDansLaSeineLe23Juin, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Artificial intelligence in the 2024 United States presidential election! However, adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.

which displays inline in the running text of the article as:

Lorem ipsum[1] dolor sit amet.

and displays under References as:

1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.

If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically. Once again, thanks for adding references to articles. — Dan Leonard (talk • contribs) 21:52, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
