Your submission at Articles for creation: Compagopiscis has been accepted

Compagopiscis, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

Thank you! I wasn't expecting the process to be this fast. Asparagusus (talk) 15:46, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Why u undo Dargah Tajushshariya

You have any problem to this article please contact us first Annuxsing (talk) 16:51, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

There does not need to be an article about a guy's tomb. The rest of the article was just a biography of the guy. I merged the articles; I didn't undo it.

Thanks for the copyedit, but I don't understand the removal of paragraphs, some of which are having sources [1]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:42, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

I might've accidentally done that. If you would give me a moment to figure it out, I can fix it.
Asparagusus (talk) 15:48, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk Okay, I've restored the paragraphs. I'm not sure why that happened, sorry!

April blitz bling

This barnstar is awarded to Asparagusus for copy edits totaling over 10,000 words (including rollover words) during the GOCE April 2022 Copy Editing Blitz. Congratulations, and thank you for your contributions! Miniapolis 13:40, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Congrats, and thanks for your work on the blitz! In case you were wondering, BTW, I discounted your wordcount totals a bit because I didn't feel that your copyedits were quite complete – the very large article Latin America would have been a lot for anyone to finish in a week, and I noticed that you were still making copy edits to it after the conclusion of the blitz. I appreciate that you did keep at it – but to be fair to everyone else, I wasn't comfortable approving the full wordcount.

I'm glad to see that you've signed up for the May Drive. The month-long event should allow more time to work on articles without being rushed. – Reidgreg (talk) 16:35, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! I’ll take that into account. I didn’t really understand what I was doing until afterward. I’m excited for the drive!

Copy-editing of Antarctica

Thanks for copyediting Antarctica! Allow me to give some feedback. Antarctica is a featured article, which makes it quite difficult to copy-edit. The instructions for copy-editors on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests even indicate this should only be done by experienced copy-editors. One of the most important tasks of a copy-editor is making sure the text doesn't change its meaning. With jargon, this is sometimes difficult, and it's okay to make an occasional mistake there (for instance changing species diversity into specific diversity, which signalled to me that the term is jargon and needs to be wikilinked).

However, there were a few instances where the meaning of plain-English sentences changed:

  • There is some evidence that surface warming in Antarctica is due to human greenhouse gas emissions -> There is evidence that surface warming in Antarctica is due to human greenhouse gas emissions, (the new sentence puts more confidence in this statement)
  • The ice shelves of Antarctica were probably first seen in 1820 -> The ice shelves of Antarctica were possibly first seen in 1820. This makes is less likely to be true.

You chose to expand sentences with words that weren't always needed, mostly adding the word Antarctica, when that was clear from context. Shorter sentences are typically easier to understand, so I wouldn't have done this. A great place to learn about making sentences clearer by condensing them smartly is User:Tony1/Redundancy exercises: removing fluff from your writing.

Also make sure not to mark large copy-edits as minor, which is only for edits that nobody will likely disagree with (such as the correction of typos and syntax errors).

Good luck with further copy-edits. You may want to ask more experienced editors to look over another of you copy-edits to get additional feedback. Femke (talk) 17:48, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

While I think that you are correct, that it is notable, I wish you had pushed back on the WP:CITEKILL and noticed that https://holanews.com/lanzan-una-plataforma-que-pondra-en-contacto-a-artistas-y-seguidores-2/ is a 404 error. It certainly has a better than 50% chance of surviving an immediate deletion process. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:10, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for that! I only noticed the one I deleted because of the suffix -pedia, which led me to believe that it was user-based (which it is, as far as I can read).

Your review of Draft:GMT Token

Hi Asparagusus,

I apologize for the disturbance but an editor was asking why you declined their article on the teahouse. I looked at their draft and it had no comment about it. Is their a reason for this or was it just a mistake? Thanks, ✶Mitch199811✶ 23:48, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

I am very sorry, I missed a part of the decline message. ✶Mitch199811✶ 00:30, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

Need more help with good sources for notability

Hi, I believe you denied my draft biography entry for game designer Arnold Hendrick. I get that I do not have enough reliable sources. I know they're out there but I am working full time still and I don't have time to find them. Is there a way I can ask others for help with this? Thank you. Nricketts (talk) 19:50, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello Nricketts! I think that your draft has improved a lot since I reviewed it. However, the sections "Early life" and "Tabletop games" need inline citations. Even if the sources you have do support it, you need to link them after the correct sentences. You could ask people for help at the Teahouse, where I am a host. You could also add the template {{Template:draft}}. Hope this helps! Asparagusus (interaction) 13:18, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your help. If I get time I may try to add citations. But trying to do anything in here seems more and more complex every time I try. Drafts, Sandbox, user pages--there's just too much. I don't see how anyone has the time to mess with it. Anyway I do appreciate your help. Nricketts (talk) 16:27, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
