User talk:Askari007
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Askari007, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Dougweller (talk) 06:07, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Syrthiss (talk) 14:22, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
I realize this may be hard to understand, but wikipedia is not here to provide a forum for you to advertise yourself. When I revert your edits and warn you against advertising, the proper response is to not go back and re-add your edits. You can ask why I did it (though that should be apparent from my warnings above), and I will tell you what the warnings tell you. Be assured that it wasn't some random slip of my finger.
Have an established article about yourself here, not written by you. Make sure it is supported by reliable sources. Then you can add your name to the notable residents article. Thanks. Syrthiss (talk) 17:03, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Dr. Rashid Askari
[edit]Hello Askari007,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dr. Rashid Askari for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks,

Hello Askari007,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dr. Rashid Askari, may be copied from http://rashidaskari.blogspot.com/2011/11/bangladeshis-writing-in-english.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 06:43, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

DPRoberts534 (talk) 05:37, 4 October 2013 (UTC)I noticed that you have been editing the article Rashid Askari. Based on your username and your familiarity with unpublished personal details of the subject, I assume you are Dr. Askari or a relative. If so, there are several important Wikipedia policies that you must understand before you make further changes to the article. Most important is WP:BLP, which exists to protect the privacy of the subjects of Wikipedia articles and to prevent harm to their reputation or person due to false or unverifiable statements made about them. Articles about living persons must comply with these policies and offending content must be deleted. Second is WP:COI. It is clear that you have an interest in promoting Dr. Askari and his writings. If this is your only goal here and you continue to add promotional and unverifiable content, your account will be blocked. As an editor with a conflict of interest, your edits will be subject to increased scrutiny by myself and other editors. Submitting the article for review at Articles for Creation was permitted and encouraged by policy. Now that the article has been accepted, you must adhere to the Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If you cannot do this, your contributions must be limited to the article talk page. Finally, you must understand the core policies of Neutral Point of View and Verifiability. As an editor with a conflict of interest, you should word your contributions as neutrally as possible and provide references to reliable sources for every fact that you insert into the article. Unfortunately, when I provided the initial review of your article I was able to locate only two independent and reliable sources for information about Dr. Askari, which are the two book reviews. Because some of the content in the article has been problematic, other editors and I must clean it up so it complies with these policies. If you are unable to assist constructively, you should limit your contributions to the article talk page, as I mentioned earlier. DPRoberts534 (talk) 06:41, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Rashid Askari
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rashid Askari, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Rahat (Talk * Contributions) 19:27, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
