Thanks for your note. I don't have the book, but I had just seen the 2006 TV version. Obviously it is not faithful. Thanks for fixing the article.--Shantavira|feed me 17:59, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Swans
Hi. I'm very much a noob on Wikipedia, and this is a pretty dorky question, so bear with me. Your swan photos are beautiful. Is it OK if I use the second picture of the swan with nine cygnets as a background on my MySpace page? And how/where should I credit you? I can host the image, resized to how I need it, in my Photobucket album but I don't want people to think it's my photo in the sense that I took it.
(Also, I realise this question makes me sound approximately fourteen years old. I assure you I'm not. I'm old enough that I ought to know this sort of thing, I'm just not that familiar with Wikipedia or Myspace etiquette. Thanks in advance.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by LDhummingbird (talk • contribs) 02:32, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hello LDhummingbird. All images from the Wikimedia Commons are freely licensed, which means you can use them without asking permission, as long as you abide by the license. For details about the licenses see Commons:Commons:Reusing content outside Wikimedia. You can see how an image is licensed if you scroll down on an image page.
- For me personally it would be fine if you wrote something like "Background image is freely licensed and courtesy of the Wikimedia Commons", and if you would include a link to [1] (if that is the image you are using), somewhere on the page.
- Thank you for your compliment. I haven't been taking photos for very long and this is the first such request I get, so it tells me I'm on the right track :). Arthena(talk) 09:53, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Re: borneo
Hmmmmm... according to your diff, Help I vandalized I didn't meant to really I didn't do it help! But if you go to Borneo's history and look through, all I did was revert vandalism. How's that work? I'm not blaming you or anything, just wondering... bug in the software, maybe? —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 22:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Chubs and Disambiguation
Greetings. Recently, on Tue 16 Oct, I constructed a disambiguation page for the various fish known as chubs. After having done so, I began to contemplate whether that page and the current Chub page might be better named. I posted a discussion on the Chub page but it's not yet received any comment. I noticed from the article's revision history that you had made one or more contributions to the page. Consequently, I thought I might profit from your advice at Talk:Chub#Page title if you have a moment or two to spare. Thanks. — Dave (Talk | contribs) 03:45, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Family Name Template
I don't know why the template has those problems. I don't understand everything about the template. I did my best to create it but I'm sure it needs cleaning up. Feel free to revise it if you think you can improve it. Best regards, Remember 00:09, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- You might want to check out template:given name revised, because that had similar formating which has now been changed. Remember 00:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

... on Wikipedia:Help_desk#Broken_image_help. just for the record, Image:Alcatel Lucent logo.svg will probably be deleted anyway, cause somebody else uploaded a much lighter svg version here: Image:Alcatel Lucent.svg --Ben Stone 00:35, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Map images of Japanese municipalities
Hello. Regarding the articles for Ise, Mie and Matsusaka, Mie...I think the existing map images were quite adequate, and (in my opinion) they looked better. Is it OK if I ask why you decided to change the map images?Manmaru (talk) 07:58, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I believe the map style I changed it into is the map style most frequently used in articles about Japanese municipalities, and since I was working on adding maps to Mie articles anyway, I changed it with the idea of increasing the level of standardization of map styles. (I also have a personal preference for the 'new' style.) Since it has proven controversial, I will not change any more maps. I think that some time in the future there will need to be a discussion about what map style is preferential, with a subsequent changing of all maps into that style, for purposes of standardization. The current situation with different map styles being used is somewhat messy. Feel free to revert to the old map images if you want to. Arthena(talk) 16:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- About 6 months ago I resolved to add the infobox (with map) to each municipality in Mie Prefecture, but then got caught up in editing the Ise article and then got busy at work. I'm glad to see someone has added the maps for all of them. I also have a desire for standardization so when I do go through and add the infobox to all articles I will ensure the map for each place is of the same type...hopefully this will happen soon as my work life is pretty light in the Winter. The maps I'd used for Ise and a few others were what I found on Japanese Wikipedia at the time, but now the Japanese Wikipedia images have changed slightly (they new ones have more contrast and cities/towns are highlighted different colors). I don't know if I'll use these or not...but again I'll make sure each town has the same type of map. If a standard is widely adopted throughout Japanese municipality articles, then I'll use that type, if not I'll probably use whichever type I think looks best. Thanks again for adding the maps to every city in Mie. Manmaru (talk) 02:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, good luck with your editing and I hope you find free time. Arthena(talk) 17:28, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes! You are right. Image:Map Aridagawa en.png is incorrect, but ja:画像:基礎自治体位置図 30366.svg does be correct. Furthermore, I found Image:Map Aridagawa en.png and Image:Map Kimino en.png were mistake and be exchanged. Presently, I have fixed these two map.--alberth2 02:03, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
re:Lake Harmony
Hi Arthena--thank you for the reminder. A friend from Lake Harmony, who is interested in its history and geography, has promised to provide me with a text, but hasn't got around to it yet. Is there a way to tag the article in the meantime to encourage others to add information they know? hattak(talk) —Preceding comment was added at 06:43, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

- I added the license to the image. I also answered your question on the Help Desk Wikipedia:Help_desk#Up_loading_Pictures, but it seems you also asked it using the helpme template. Please don't ask questions in two locations in rapid succesion, or people's time will be wasted writing duplicate replies. Arthena(talk) 21:09, 16 January 2008 (UTC).
- First, Thank you the quick response and help in the license issue. Second, I apologize for letting my fingers get ahead of my brain. Call it finger disconnect. When I placed the {helpme} I saw the WP:Help Desk link and just couldn’t resist. Sorry about that. Shoessss | Chat 21:22, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

UCFD relisting
Hi. Recently you commented at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion#Wikipedians in x prefecture. Although the debate started as a discussion on whether to rename the category, it later broadened to encompass upmerging the categories to Category:Wikipedians in Japan. I have left the debate open a little longer because the suggestion came quite late in the debate and I am not sure if all participants had seen the suggestion. If you have an opinion on this upmerge, please comment at the debate above. Thanks for your time. Hiding T 11:11, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Re:Date
Did you know that the way you display the date in your signature is ambiguous? 01/02/2008 can either mean January 2 2008 or Februari 1 2008, depending on where one lives. (Image:Date.png). I think that's why the month is spelled out in the default date format of signatures :). Arthena(talk) 14:02, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Arthena. Sorry to bother you. I have added infobox to Rockland St. Mary every thing OK apart from a large white space that has appeared. How can I close up the space? Thanks Northmetpit (talk) 14:31, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Re. Removing white space
Hi Arthena. Thanks for reply. Took your advice and removed lines under infobox , but still the white space remains. Any ideas ? Thanks Northmetpit (talk) 11:27, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Back again, I've done some editing and by moving the images the problem is solved .Bye Northmetpit (talk) 12:08, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Image of Sheffield Old Town Hall
Hi - no problem with resurrecting the old image, particularly if you can improve it. I'm not really very happy with either picture. Warofdreams talk 21:30, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
If this castle is not present today, then why there is a category Category:Castles in Warwickshire in the article? By adding this category, it sounds like the castle still exists today. A new category Category:Destroyed castles can be created. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 16:03, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

--Lincun (talk) 15:02, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
